The Gamer – Naruto World
Chapter 6 – Skills

Chapter 6 – Skills

The winds of the northeast are a bit chilly. Sun from the east are invading the homes of the sweet innocents. The Hokage monument is watching over the village, hoping for a glorious future.

Yesterday, both Naruto and Raito were able to learn new things. To the point that Naruto was wide awake till early morning.

As for Raito, he was putting the Gamer's mind and body to full use. Waking up, Raito was full of energy.

“Gamer’s mind and Gamer's body are really something else.” Raito stretched as he walked out of the room. Lightly knocking the door opposite to his, Raito called, “Naruto, wake up.”

Keeping to his schedule, Raito went to the bathroom, cleaned the house, and was just about to go for stretching when he remembered Naruto. “Is he still asleep?”

“Oi, Goldie,” Raito opened the door and walked in. Looking at the seal on the door, Raito sighed, “You didn’t even use the seal, baka.”

Uzumaki Naruto is the son of Namikaze Minato and Uzumaki Kushina. He is the current dead last of the academy.

Seeing that Naruto was still asleep, Raito pulled the blankets and dragged Naruto off the bed by the foot.

‘Low level, high chakra, messed up stat distribution, and questionable luck. Just what is this?’

‘My stat distribution is way better.’ Raito snorted then looked at the snoring Naruto.

“Wake UP! Naruto!” Raito roared, pulling the blankets, tossing Naruto on the floor.

Naruto groaned and slowly opened his eyes, to see a grinning Raito. Looking at the bedside clock, Naruto found that it wasn’t even six, “What the hell, Raito?”

“It’s five and I even gave you an extra hour.” Raito folded the blanket then threw it to the end of the bed.

“Clean up and meet me in the backyard.” Raito turned and started walking. “We are gonna start training.”

“It’s too early,” Naruto yawned, his eyes half closed.

Raito sighed then turned around with a small smile on his face, “When are you going to beat Sasuke? When are you going to be a ninja? And, when are you are going to be Hokage?”

“Ugh,” Naruto flinched, repeatedly.

‘It’s so easy,’ Raito smiled, turned around, and walked a little faster.

Sometime later, in the backyard. “Ow, ow, ow.” Naruto lay down with a painful expression on his face.

“That’s what happens when you don’t train.” Raito continued his stretch and at the same time looked at Naruto.

“Rest for a while,” Raito advised and stopped stretching. “You don’t have to compete with me, you know.”

“I wasn’t.” Naruto was breathing heavily. “It is fun.”

“What?” Raito looked confused.

“Training with someone is really fun,” Naruto said with a big smile.

Raito rolled his eyes and threw a bottle towards Naruto, “Rest, stretch, repeat.”

“I’ll start making food.” Raito waved his hand and walked inside.

Raito cleaned himself before walking into the kitchen and started his Chakra Control Exercise, Leaf Spinning Exercise.

In just one night, Raito’s chakra control improved greatly, from one leaf to about ten. He could easily spin two at the same time.

[Chakra Control (Passive) Lvl 11 ]

Raito manipulated his chakra, swirling the leaf around his arm and added some spices to vegetables.

[Skill ‘Cooking’ leveled up.]

While practicing and cooking, Raito started thinking of the books he had brought from the foreign merchants. “I brought a lot of books. There should be a few skill books, right?”

“Raito,” Naruto walked in covered in sweat and dirt, and a smile on his face. “I managed to complete two sets.”

“Didn’t I tell you to clean yourself?” Raito looked at Naruto then looked back at his stir-fry and said. “Other than that, good job.”

“Yosh,” Naruto ran towards the bath.

Turning off the gas and covering the lid, Raito walked towards the library.

The library was a spacious room filled with books on all sides. There was a comfortable-looking chair and a small round table at the center. The round table had a picture frame of a family of three.

Standing by the door Raito looked at the picture and smiled for a long time. Looking at the corner of the room, there were few boxes with the height to his knee, sealed and covered by dust.

“Just what was I thinking…” Raito took out a rag and cleaned the top before opening the boxes.

“I really brought one of everything.” Raito went through one of the boxes and groaned looking. “I think I even asked Inoichi-sensei for some money back then.”

“Raito, where are plates?” Naruto’s shout came from the kitchen.

“Coming,” Storing all the books of the box, Raito hurried back. ‘I hope he doesn’t break any.’

Raito walked in to see Naruto jumping comically to open the cupboard at the top. Holding back his laughter, pointing his finger at the rack and said, “Naruto, the plates and bowls are on the drying rack.”

“I – I didn’t…”

“Don’t train until you go stupid.” Raito hurried to grab the bowls then passed them to Naruto.

Opening the rice cooker, the steam came out with full force. White fluffy grains of rice with little shredded seaweed on top, the light drizzle of shrimp oil gave a unique fragrance to it.

Detaching the cover, Raito passed the container to Naruto and asked him to start plating. Taking two plates, Raito opened the grill rack and placed the fish on the plates.

“Rice, fish and…” Filling the bowl with some vegetable soup, Raito placed it on the table. “Stir fry eggplants and potato.”

Naruto saw a small pile of leaves on the table and asked, “Why are those leaves here?”

“Chakra control,” Raito looked at Naruto and asked, “Didn’t Iruka sensei say we need to be able to stick three leaves at once?”

“He did?” Naruto scratched the back of his head and gave a laugh. “Looks like I forgot that.”

‘I have to ask Anko-nee for some help for Naruto.’ Raito smiled evilly and asked, “So, were you able to do [Shadow clone]?”

“I did!” Naruto shouted, fist-pumping forward.

“Oi, careful,” Raito quickly covered his food and glared.

“Sorry, sorry.” Naruto gave smile then showed excitement as he made a hand sign, “Shadow clone technique was really easy.”

“Easy?” Raito looked at Naruto in amazement.

“Yup, it took a little bit more than an hour but I did it.” A clone appeared behind the original and gave a thumb up before disappearing.

“Heh, good for ya. Now, you won’t fail the practical test this time.” Raito said, teasing Naruto.

‘He used half of his total chakra to make one clone?’ Raito looked puzzled then he saw the clone disappear and the CP bar filling it nearly full.

‘Naruto has a really large chakra pool.’ Raito closed Naruto's box and sighed thinking about the absurd requirements to learn a skill, ‘Gamer’s body not only has pros but also cons.’

‘I need to fulfill those requirements to learn shadow clone whereas Naruto just simply learns it.’

‘Even after I tried learning on my own, I got an alert to meet the requirement and learn it. ‘Otherwise harmful effects may be seen,’ huh.’

‘Let’s ask someone about this technique.,’

‘Not Mari-nee… I don’t want to ask Inoichi-sensei and definitely not Yūgao-nee.’

“Oi, Raito. Future Hokage to Raito.” Naruto called, waving his hand.

“Oh, what?” Raito came out of the daze and looked at Naruto.

“Your food will go cold.” Naruto looked at the plates then at Raito.

“I will, I will.” Raito laughed it off. His slightly overthinking nature was making his eating a bit mess.

“You are acting weird,” Naurto commented and walked with his bowls and plates.

“I am not. I was just thinking about buying some weight this afternoon.” Raito made a mental note to control himself in future and brought out a notebook from his inventory, just to show Naruto but before he could write, a notification box appeared in front of him.

[Checklist created]

- Take revenge on the people in the class.

- Raise stats.

- Buy weights.

‘Something new again,’ Raito paused in his tracks as he placed the notebook back.

“You are doing it again.” Naruto pulled Raito’s shoulder. “Are you okay?”

“Sorry, Naruto.”

“What’s really going on?” Naruto asked looking at Raito.

“Hm, I think I found something awesome.” Raito smiled and made a shush sign.

“What is it? What is it?” Naruto asked in excitement.

“It’s my secret.” Raito laughed and continued eating, ignoring Naruto.

After cleaning the dishes, Raito picked up a book and continued from where left.

Frowning, Raito closed the tab and looked at his book collection in the inventory. ‘Since INT raises my chakra level, I need to read lots of book.’

‘What will happen once I finish all the books in the house? Do I need to go to library?’

Naruto grabbed his small bag pack and hurried towards the door but found Raito standing still with a frown on his face. “Raito?”

“Raito, the classes are going to start, hurry, hurry.” Naruto grabbed Raito’s hand and started pulling him.

“We still have plenty of time,” Raito looked at the clock before grabbing the bag.

“To the academy,” Naruto’s loud shout alerted a few neighbors Raito had.

Raito boinked Naruto then greeted the neighbors. He then glared at Naruto then activated the seals and started mumbling. “I can level up ‘Observe’ by five or more…”

When Raito was looking at his skill list, Naruto suddenly grabbed his wrist and started running.

“Oi, don’t drag,” Raito quickly adjusted his posture and matched Naruto’s pace as he started running.

Activating his chakra, Raito started pushing the chakra to his back muscle and the leg muscles, providing a steady stream of energy. “Jii-chan’s book is really useful.”

[Running Lv 1 (Active/Passive) 0.0%]

- Increase stamina by 1%

‘Stupid Naruto,’ Raito closed the boxes and tried using ‘Observe’ but found that it was useless.

Soon they reached the academy. Different semester students walked in with their bags, talking, laughing. Each of them having their own good and bad side.

There were mix of sturdy, smart, plain, lanky and all kinds of students. Everyone has their unique talent, if they focus and develop their talents, they can go far in the future.

Some have more disadvantage then others but that just means that they are capable in other ways. That’s why guidance is important. Teachers who knows this are a numerous but the one who provide the guidance are so few.

“This Academy is such a waste of time.” Raito groaned.

Naruto looked at Raito then backed away, waving his hand and saying goodbye.

“That’s weird-”

“A waste of time, huh?” Raito heard a male’s voice, Iruka, behind him as he swiftly turned around and gave a big smile then said, “Morning Iruka-sensei.”

Iruka’s hand moved and grabbed Raito’s ear as he glared, “A waste of time.”

Iruka let go of Raito’s ear and said, “Wasting early hours of academy and now talking bad. You are getting bolder, Raito.”

Raito activated his ‘Chakra Sense’ and Iruka activated his ‘Chakra Echolocation’ as he sensed Raito activating his technique.

Looking down at the floor and keeping his voice low, Raito said, “You know that it’s true, don’t you, sensei?”

“…” Iruka had a defeated look on his face as he heard Raito. “Raito.”

Raito raised his finger, puffed his chest and said. “Senju Hashirama, Uchiha Madara, Senju Tobirama. They are the first-tier examples, proving my point that we don’t need academy to become a shinobi-.”

“Owowow,” Raito grabbed his head and looked angrily at Iruka, who had his hands clenched into fist.

“Get to your class.” Iruka smiled and waved his hand then added, “Continue being on time.”

Raito rolled his eyes and walked towards his classroom and took a deep breath in. He listened to the voices in the room and patted his chest. ‘I should be fine… probably.’

When Raito entered the classroom, the once noisy class got silent all of a sudden and everyone turned their heads and looked at Raito.

Raito, infamously known being late at every first class by a minimum of 30 minutes, had arrived 30 minutes early.

“Kami-sama.” One of the boys hurriedly punched his friend and shouted. “I am not dreaming am I?”

“Crazy!”

“No way”

…..

Everyone in the class was thinking absurd things like today the sun has risen from the west and Naruto had stopped playing his pranks. Even the birds have started barking and the dogs had started flying.

Raito stood for a while looking around to see if Mari had come. Slapping his head in his head for his foolishness, Raito walked towards his seat. Looking around, his classmates had dumbfounded expressions plastered on their faces.

‘If I knew that this type of thing would happen I am better late.’

“Morning, Raito-san.”

“Morning, Raito-kun.”

There were two voices different from the rest of the class, behind his seat.

“Morning Iwasawa-san, Renji-san.” Raito smiled. “Someone dragged me today. So, it couldn't be helped.”

“We understand, Raito-san.” Iwasawa continued reading her book after giving him a smile.

“I could never do the same as you, Raito-san. My training as a samurai has very strict discipline.” Renji sighed.

“It’s your cowardice that bound you, nothing else.” Iwasawa made a comment, making Renji flustered.

“T-That’s not true.”

Looking at the two, Raito felt his face twitching. ‘Two unlucky people.’

‘Renji only uses Kenjutsu, even forgoing Taijutsu. Rumors must be true, he would be going to the Land of Iron after this academic year ends.’

‘Iwasawa, I don’t know much but she mainly focuses on poisons.’

“How unlucky.” Raito sighed then took out a book.

“Eh, Raito-san, what book is that?” Iwasawa peeked at the book and it caught her interest.

“This?” Raito looked at the cover, ‘Poison Lore’ and answered, “Although the title looks like that, it has just the basic information on poisonous plants and animals.”

“Can I-”

SLICK, THUD.

A fat boy with narrow eyes, wearing somewhat expensive clothing walked in.

“Raito, care to explain to the class, why you were coming to the academy with that Naruto?” The fat boy walked in with a couple boys walking behind. Standing tall in front of Raito’s table, he looked at Raito angrily and said, “I saw you two.”

“So?” Raito looked at the fat boy and checked his stat before returning to his book.

[Shimada Tomio Lvl 5 (Academy Student)]

Tomio looked at Raito with anger, “You… you shouldn’t be talking with Naruto. He is bad news.”

Raito raised his lazy eye and said, “Says who?”

“Says everyone,” Tomio raised his voice in anger, turning all heads. “No one here wants to be Naruto’s friend.”

‘Seriously,’

“Naruto again?”

“Even when he isn’t here, he is….”

“No one? What about me?” Raito closed his book then pointed to himself and asked, “I am his friend.”

“Do something useful and…” Raito’s voice was interrupted by Tomio’s shout.

Tomio pointed his finger towards Raito and shouted, “You… Oi, listen now, I am giving you a chance-”

“Why?” Raito tapped the wooden table and asked

“Because he is-”

“Why should l listen to you?” Raito banged at the table and stood up.

“Go away, fatty.” Raito sat down, waved his hand and picked up the book.

Tomio’s face twisted in anger as he said, “O-Oi… You should be grateful.”

“What? I should be grateful?” Raito looked at Tomio as if looking at a stupid one.

They had attracted crowd’s attention and Raito wasn’t giving Tomio any attention.

Tomio raised his finger, took several quick breaths and said. “I know you are living with Naruto.”

Suddenly many of the students started murmuring, questioning Raito’s action.

“So what? He is just Naruto.” Raito asked, giving a quick sweep of ‘[Observe]’ to everyone questioning him.

“Don’t you know…” Tomio’s smile grew bigger and continued, “Naruto is the Kyūbi reincarnate.”

“Naruto is the demon?” One of the students gasped.

“I knew it.” Another student shouted.

Raito looked and at Tomio and laughed for some time. Wiping the tears on the corner of his eyes, Raito asked, “Naruto is the Kyūbi reincarnate. How stupid can you be?”

“I am serious.” Tomio emphasized, “Naruto is the Kyūbi reincarnate.”

While murmuring was going on, Raito let out a loud cough, attracting everyone’s attention.

“Do you take me as a fool?” Raito shouted while looking at everyone then spread his hand, making a small arc indicating everyone and asked, “Are you taking everyone for fools?”

Finding that he had everyone’s attention, Raito added, “A capable shinobi must verify the information, to safeguard from the fraud, lie, and deceit.”

“If one blindly follows the information without any verification, he or she is forfeiting their life to the information. An action truly of a fool.” Iwasawa closed her book and finished Raito.

Raito turned back and looked at Iwasawa then turned back to Tomio and said with a smile, “Hear that, you need to verify your information before you force us all to believe that… lie.”

Feeling the eyes of everyone, Tomio looked at Raito and said nervously. “It’s not a lie. My father said it.”

“Oh, and how did your father know?” Raito asked simply.

Tomio was stunned as he started coming for answers, “A friend of my father said it.”

[Lie detected.]

“Oh,” Raito dragged and said, “Then your father verified from A-kun, who verified from B-kun, who verified from C-kun and there are probably some D, E, F, G, and so on, right?”

“Didn’t Fourth Hokage-sama already kill the Kyūbi?” Renji looked at Tomio and asked.

The students also started looking around and started talking.

“He is doubting Hokage-sama.”

“Fourth Hokage-sama sacrificed himself to kill the demon and now he…”

Tomio looked around and started shuttering in nervousness, “I am not really…”

A girl slammed the desk in anger and asked, “So, what are you saying? Speak clearly, you stupid fatty.”

“Yeah.”

“Don’t think we are stupid.”

Tomio was looking down and thinking, and when he found the idea, he suddenly raised his head and said, “If you don’t believe me then I will prove it.”

“Prove it how?” One of the girls questioned.

“Naruto, he was born on the day Kyūbi died.” Tomio smiled as he thought he finally got something.

“And?” One of the boys placed his hand on the chin and asked.

“Kyūbi died and Naruto was born. It’s simple as that.” Tomio shouted, his eyes moistening. “Kyūbi turned into Naruto. What’s there not to understand?”

“You don’t make sense man.” A boy knocked on the desk then raised his index finger and said, “How did you know that Naruto was the only one born that day? There could be many born in that day.”

The boy raised a second finger and continued, “Why did Kyūbi choose Naruto? Did Kyūbi died super close to where was born or something like that?”

Raising the third finger, he looked at everyone cautiously and asked, “Why do you keep saying Naruto? Did he do something to you?”

[Mihashi Futoshi Lvl 6]

“Yea, why choose Naruto. He is so dumb.”

“Actually, I know someone born on the same day.”

“I also know one kid but he goes to school.”

“Hey, he is twelve and you are calling him a kid. Doesn’t that mean you are a kid too?”

“You are a kid too.”

While everyone was starting to form their opinion, Raito clapped his hand and said with a big smile. “I remember…”

Renji looked sideways and whispered, “Iwasawa, don’t you think Raito looks a bit creepier, right now?”

“He does,” Iwasawa closed her personal book and brought out the academy book on history. “The class is gonna start. Did you read?”

“Ugh,” Renji looked at the book then looked sideways. “I forgot about it.”

Raito pinched his chin, squinted his eyes, and frowned, “About two months ago, after Sasuke caught you peeking into girls changing room. He beat some sense into you.”

“He peeked? Two months ago?” The girls into the room stood up all of a sudden and glared at Tomio.

“And Sasuke-kun beat him for us.” One of the girls squealed.

“For us.”

“I knew something was wrong that day.” One of the girls walked forward with a thick book in her hand. “How could I be wrong? I knew it.”

Raito coughed lightly and added, “Tomio even wanted to prank Sasuke by throwing stink bomb at him.”

Tomio raised his hands and pointed at Raito, “That’s a lie. Everything you say is a lie. I never peeped.”

“That’s why you went to the infirmary that day, two months ago.” One of the girls whispered but everyone heard it.

Raito coughed again, and by now everyone had subconsciously focused their attention on Raito, “Naruto and Sasuke found about your prank that day and tried confronting you, but you threw the stink bomb at them.”

Raito added, “I remember that they had to cut classes that day.”

One of Sasuke’s fan girls opened a thick, pink notebook and opened a page. Adjusting her glasses, she looked at Tomio and said, “What Raito-kun said is true. Sasuke-kun indeed took a leave after lunch that day.”

The two students behind Tomio immediately understood what Raito was doing so they stepped forward and said, “I was with Tomio the whole day on the fourteenth. No way he could have done it.”

The other student behind Tomio nodded, “True.”

The glasses girl adjusted her glasses and said, “You got the date correct but… when did I ever say it was fourteenth?”

With that statement, the class went into an uproar and girls started beating Tomio and two of his friends.

A small number of boys and girls ran towards the teacher’s lounge to find Mari, leaving the victims of the attack to suffer even further.

“Raito-san,” Iwasawa started arranging her notes before saying, “You are not particularly a bad person.”

“… even when you give half-truth.”

“Half-mmm” Renji was about to talk aloud when he felt a hand covering his mouth.

“Please stay quiet for now.” Raito smiled.

Mari walked in wearing a Chūnin vest and a register on her hand. Three boys were walking behind her and a girl was beside her telling her the details of the situation.

“After that, the girls started hitting them. I tried to stop but…”

“I understand,” Mari sighed as she walked into the class.

Just before she walked in, the students had already retreated back and sat on their proper seat with a textbook opened, looking like diligent students.

Mari could feel her face twitching as she saw her students ‘studying’. ‘These brats.’

She then raised her brows to look at an irritating Raito, reading a small book. ‘King of brats, wearing proper clothes.’

“Tomio, Shogo, Heikichi.” Mari looked at the three sorry kids and said, “to my office, now.”

Mari then looked at everyone in the class and said, “Copy the first chapter on theory on chakra manipulation and submit it to me before noon.”

“Self-study.”

“Class representative, come with me.” Mari walked out with the three students and closed the door after giving a glare at Raito.

Raito looked at the logs and thought for a while, ‘Repeated actions and special actions. Let’s try this.’

“Theory on chakra manipulation? That’s three pages and there aren’t any pictures.” One of the girls slumped on her desk.

Raito had already started writing the theory of chakra manipulation, copying word by word at a fast pace.

Poke, poke.

Raito turned around to find Iwasawa pushing her notebook to Raito.

“What do you mean?” Raito looked at Iwasawa warily.

“You created this mess. So, you will do it.” Iwasawa as straightforward as ever.

Iwasawa pushed her notebook then grabbed the book Raito was reading earlier then started reading.

Strangely the other didn’t hear her voice except for Renji but he was already starting to write.

Turning around, Raito started writing, maintaining speed and clarity.

[Skill ‘Calligraphy’ has leveled up.]

‘It’s really useful.’ Raito thought and closed the notebook. After timing his writing speed, Raito found that his speed had clearly increased and about the clarity it was the same as before.

Just as he was about to return the notebook, Iwasawa said, “When others didn’t even finish once, you finished twice the original work. Do you perhaps want to be a writer, Raito-san?”

“Writer? Write a book?” Raito looked at Iwasawa and said, “I don’t know about writing but I want to take the Fuinjutsu course in the future. That’s why I am training in calligraphy. Speed and clarity are the most important in Fuinjutsu. “

“Fuinjutsu?”

“Difficult but looking at you, it seems doable.” She grabbed her notebook and said, “Good job.”

After some time, everyone had finished copying the chapter. The class representative collected everyone’s notebook then placed it in front of Raito.

“Yuuki isn’t here.” The class representative grabbed a few of the top then walked away.

“Seriously?” Raito’s face twitched as he grabbed the wholesome leftover and followed the class representative.

“Naruto and Sasuke were absent that day because they were in a fight, outside school premises.”

“You knew about it?” Raito looked at the not-so-normal class representative and asked.

“Mm, it was my turn to skip school that day.” Class rep confessed.

“Heh, I didn’t know that class rep was so daring.” Raito teased. “Wanna skip classes with me.”

“Not daring as you, Raito-san, and no, I don’t want to. To follow someone as you would be courting death.”

Walking in, Raito saw Mari sitting on the couch, drinking tea and reading a romance novel. “Wait, class rep.”

‘It would be really troublesome if we see her now.’

Balancing the notebook, on one hand, Raito blocked class rep’s view, knocked on the door and called, “Mari-sensei, the assignments you have given are complete. Please check.”

Raito walked in to see that Mari had hidden the novel behind her. A smile appeared on Raito’s face as he said, “Saw that,” before standing on attention.

Mari gave Raito a glare before looking at the beautiful class rep. “Class rep.”

“Hai, Mari-sensei.”

Mari took out a notepad from the table and started, “You had the second-best in the class and third in the semester. While your focuses are on math, science, and chakra theory, which is great. But I would like to remind you to invest yourself in other subjects too.”

“After you leave the academy, you are not going to get the chance to cover those bases because you will be so much invested in your own field. I hope you understand some of it and take this message as a good one.”

“Take the class to the obstacle course at 11.”

“Hai, Mari-sensei.” Class rep bowed and left the room leaving Raito alone with Mari and some other teachers of the academy.

“So?” Mari returned to her lazy self as she sipped tea.

“You simply said her to study more. Don’t waste time on useless things and… try to beat Sasuke and Sakura to get that cherished first place.” Raito grabbed the notebook, Mari was holding then tossed it to the side. The pages were blank but the data were real.

Raito looked the empty teacher’s room and started, “Tomio’s reasoning was flawed. There was no reasoning to what he said. It was something like he was forced to know that it was a fact.”

“What do you think about what he said?” Mari asked.

“I have my own assumptions about it,” Raito answered looking at the screen in front of him.

“Assumptions? Don’t go on-”

“I know, I know.” Raito waved his hand and sat on the couch. Extending his hand in between the cushion, he found the novel and read the title out loud. “A Night At The Winter Castle.”

“An adult series,” Raito said softly, looking at Mari, who was frozen in time and returned the book.

“I was expecting better.” Raito sighed, shaking his head in disappointment then left the room.

Moments later, Mari started shouting, “That brat” and “Acting like an adult even when he is not.”

[Uzumaki Naruto Lvl 8]

[Jinchūriki of Kyūbi]

While walking down the hall, a notification box popped up in front of Raito.

‘What is Jinchūriki now?’ Raito clicked on the highlighted text and waited.

[Jinchūriki - Power of Human Sacrifice]

Humans that have tailed beasts sealed within them.

11 AM

“Everyone to the obstacle course. Iruka sensei would be leading today.” Class rep announced as everyone began moving towards the training grounds.

Raito closed his ‘Chakra Sense’ as the information he was getting and the thoughts on Jinchūriki kept bombarding.

“I hate this.” Raito frowned as he stepped forward.

Just as he was about to turn, he saw someone just about to do the same. Both of them moved their body, made a half-turn, and stabilized themselves.

Raito looked at his ‘collision at the corner’ friend. “Sasuke,”

“… Raito.” Sasuke said with a nod. But before Raito could walk past, Sasuke called him and said, “You missed last week.”

“I was busy… with some personal stuff.” Raito answered and added, “I will try to come this week.”

Raito called himself stupid and activated, “[Chakra Sense]”

*ding

Skill ‘Chakra Sense’ leveled up.

[Chakra Sense Lvl 15]

The ability to sense the chakra outside the body.

# Area Sense

# Chakra Signature Sensing

# Amplification

# Remote Viewing

“Remote viewing, huh?” Raito closed the tab and looked in front to see an ANBU standing with a scroll on her hand.

“Hokage-sama’s order,” ANBU gave the scroll. “He wanted to say that he hasn’t forgotten.”

‘ANBU appearing in the academy, that’s new.’ Raito opened the scroll and went through it once. ‘A storage seal?’

Walking inside the bathroom, Raito opened the seal and found a fairly heavy book in his lap.

‘What is this?’ Raito thought and just as he was about to open the book and use [Observe], a tab appeared in front.

[Principles of Fuinjutsu] (Rare)

Written by – Generation of Uzumaki and Konoha in Konohagakure

Owner – Yoshizawa Raito

‘It’s not a skill book.’ Raito turned a few pages and found that there were many sentences with a cross beside them. Every numbered sentence was followed by a bunch of process explaining the experiment and their results. ‘It’s like an experiment book or something.’

1. Individual character seals can form an effect. [X]

2. A line of individual character seals forms an effect. [X]

3. A line of relatable character seals forms an effect. [X]

4. A line of relatable character seals with the user’s thoughts forms an effect. [V] [Partial] [Someone with a clear image can make better seals.]

5. A line of relatable character seals with the user’s mental image forms an effect. [V] [Partial] [A mental image will/can activate the chakra to take a pathway]

6. A line of relatable character seals with s clear mental image, in the form of chakra, forms an effect. [V] [Partial] [Yin chakra cannot sustain by itself.]

7. Dividing the seal work into two parts; the yin chakra with a clear mental image, the yang chakra will form a base work for the mental image, how it works to forms an effect. [X]

8. The yang chakra will form a base work to support the mental image. The yin chakra with a clear mental image will provide a clear direction of the use of the technique. [X]

9. The yin and yang are combined to one individual. [X]

10. The yin and yang are combined into a group of relatable character seals. [X] [Partial]

The experiments were almost endless. The book was divided into many parts, showing the variety of works put into it by various people. In between, there were blood splatters, showing how dangerous those experiments may have been.

[WIS raised by 1.]

Raito let out the breath he had been holding as he placed the book in the inventory. He cupped his hand and frowned. ‘Why am I reading such a precious book in the bathroom?’

‘And isn’t this a bit too precious to give away?’

‘But is it alright?’ A question came to Raito’s head as he walked towards the door of the restroom. “I should ask Jii-chan.”

“Raito, Raito.” Naruto’s shout eventually reached Raito.

“Maybe another time,” Raito sighed as he walked towards Naruto. “What are you doing here?”

“I was looking for you. Iruka-sensei said that if you were late, he was going to punish you. So, I came to find you.” Naruto said as he pulled Raito towards the training grounds.

“Don’t sweat on it.” Raito pulled his hand then grabbed Naruto by the shoulder and walked.

At the training grounds

“Uzumaki Naruto.” With a pen and a clipboard on the hand, Iruka was calling names.

“UZUMAKI NARUTO,” Iruka-sensei shouted with a little bit of anger.

Two boys came in leisurely to the training ground.

Seeing the trouble beside Naruto, Iruka sighed as he asked, “Naruto, where were you?”

“I was-” Naruto started speaking but was immediately cut off by Raito

“I am sorry Iruka-sensei but we were helping Mari-sensei. She can verify that.” Raito lied as he walked towards Shikamaru and Chōji.

“Just do it. You two are the only ones left.” As Naruto walked forward, Iruka checked the box and grabbed the stopwatch. “Ready?”

“Go.” Pressing the switch, Iruka watched Naruto running.

As Naruto ran past the line, Iruka pressed the switch and stopped the stopwatch, “One Minute and Three Seconds.”

“Sixth in grade,” Iruka announced and saw Naruto’s happy face. “It’s a great improvement.”

“Next, Yoshizawa Raito.”

Raito was already beside Naruto as he looked at the course. Changing some of the paths from the usual route, Raito was ready to run.

“Ready? Go!”

Running a straight path, stepping over a log, jumping over the other, jumping through the hoops, climbing the net, jumping from top, and running along the log.

“Done,”

“Time,” Iruka looked at his stopwatch and said with disbelief, “… 40.33 seconds.”

“First in grade,”

Raito breath out as he looked back at the obstacle course. ‘It was suddenly far easier than I remember.’

Looking at his increasing DEX stat and WIS stat, Raito became a believer in numbers. ‘I should go there and try out… my skills, my stats… everything.’

Iruka playfully boinked Raito and asked. “Raito, did you just hear what I said?”

Raito answered in daze, “I was just thinking if I could increase my speed if I tried…”

Seeing Iruka’s smile, Raito rubbed the back of his head and said, “Sorry for that, sensei.”

Iruka slowly shook his head while the smile on his face never left. “You are doing great. I expect you to keep improving.”

“Hai,” Raito walked back to the group and looked at Sasuke.

Sasuke was glaring back at Raito. He could only choose to ignore it.

“Sasuke-kun still has the top score in shuriken and kunai throwing.”

“Yeah, Sasuke-kun has the perfect score.”

Iruka wrote a few comments below the paper then coughed, grabbing everyone’s attention, and said, “Because we were a bit late, shuriken and kunai throwing, and sparring is after the lunch break.”

“Dismiss.”

“Shikamaru, Chōji, let’s go,” Naruto called the duo and pointed towards a tree.

Shikamaru glared at Naruto and Raito as he walked towards them.

“Hey, Shikamaru, what’s up?” Naruto asked cheerfully.

“Because of you two, my mom made me train a lot harder than usual. Seriously, you two… it was so troublesome.” Shikamaru grumbled for a bit before walking with the rest.

“Not me,” Raito made an off comment to which Shikamaru just glared.

“Your mom is super awesome, Shikamaru. I think my Taijutsu improved a lot because of her training in just one day.” Naruto said flexing his non-existential biceps.

Under a beautiful tree, Naruto and Shikamaru sat while Chōji and Raito stood, facing each other.

“Raito,” (Chōji)

“Chōji,” (Raito)

Chōji was in a battle position; legs wide, slightly bent, left leg a little bit at the front, and one hand reached to the back, towards the bag.

Raito also was in a battle position; legs wide and bend just a little, as his hand went inside an empty bag and called out inventory.

“Today I have.”

“EGGS FRIED WRAPPED IN BACON”

“CURRY”

After a short moment of silence, Chōji exploded.

“Curry!?”

Raito puffed up his chest and raised his fingers, “Not just any curry but still warm and hot curry and of course, there is rice.”

Eye shining with desire, Chōji dashed forward, grabbing Raito’s box and felt the warmth.

“Whoa, it’s real.” Chōji took some sniffs and even held it to his chest.

Shikamaru looked at the bag Raito was holding and asked, “How did you manage that?”

“Family secret Ninjutsu,” Raito answered with a smug face.

“Family Ninjutsu?” Faces mixed with excitement and amazement greeted Raito’s face.

“Just when did you learn it, Raito?” Naruto asked as he looked at Raito in confusion.

“Last night. When you learned [Clone] technique, I learned this secret technique.”

“Does it have a name?” Naruto asked in excitement.

“Of course, it’s called [Inventory].” Raito added, “I can keep anything that I touch in the [Inventory]. When I take out the things from inventory, it’s like they were just placed in there.” Raito made wild gestures as he explained.

“A space-type Ninjutsu?” Shikamaru pinched his chin and started thinking. ‘Summoning techniques, Fuinjutsu, Flying thunder god.’

Looking at Raito, Shikamaru continued, “It’s more like a storage seal-”

“But better,” Raito interrupted Shikamaru, squinting his eyes.

Shikamaru stretched his hands and started, “Even though it resembles a storage seal, it isn’t. Time passes normally in the storage seal whereas yours does not. So, it’s a bit different, otherwise, the functions are the same.”

Raito made an annoyed face as he thought, ‘I need to research on my powers.’

“Eh, wait a second.” Chōji stopped Raito and Shikamaru and pointed at Naruto, “Naruto can finally make a clone?”

“It is called the [Shadow Clone] and is far better than [Clone]. Do you guys want to see?” Naruto asked in excitement. He was so excited that he let out the secret.

Chōji nodded.

Raito sighed. He could only shake his head.

Going through a chain of hand seals, Naruto pushed his chakra. “Shadow Clone Technique”

With a puff of smoke, two Naruto appeared and waved towards the group.

Shikamaru looked at the clones and said, “These are not your simple clone technique,”

Chōji poked the two Naruto and said, “This is not a clone technique at all.”

“Because it’s a shadow clone, not clone.” Shikamaru explained, looking at the clone, and added, “This technique was used for infiltration and information gathering, made by the second Hokage.”

“This is a bit high level.” Naruto scratched his cheeks and smiled.

‘I wanna try it too… I am being jealous.’ Raito called himself stupid in his head and listened carefully.

“Naruto, did you know. A newly made civilian Chūnin could never use shadow clone technique.”

“What? Why?”

“It’s not like they are not able to learn the technique but when making a shadow clone, your chakra is immediately halved.”

“Isn’t that bad?” Chōji asked looking at Naruto and Raito looked at Shikamaru.

“But dispelling the technique will return the chakra,” Shikamaru added after some time.

‘Just say it all at once,’ Raito glared at Shikamaru.

“But how does it help in information gathering?” Naruto asked, willing to learn.

“Heh, when you dispel the technique, along with chakra, you will also gain memories of your clones,” Shikamaru explained.

“That’s so cool,” Naruto had stars in his eyes as he looked at his clone.

Shikamaru looked sideways and added, “When I say memories, it’s everything. You will get memories of what you see, hear, taste, and like but at the same time you will also feel pain, fatigue, exhaustion similar to what your clone has experienced.”

“Is that so?” Naruto pouted and started thinking.

“Exhaustion is one thing but taking in all those memories is the main problem as it creates a mental strain.” Shikamaru ended and looked at Naruto who was thinking.

“Nah,” Naruto looked up and said, “That doesn’t happen at all.”

The clone disappeared as Naruto sat, “I played with it all night yesterday and nothing like that happened.”

“Huh?” Shikamaru looked lost as he asked, “Did you get memories from your clones?”

“I don’t know. I don’t remember.” Naruto answered after thinking for a bit.

“Is this even shadow clone technique?” Shikamaru exhaled loudly.

“Let’s do an experiment, right here and now,” Raito spoke up. The gamer powers showed that was indeed a skill book for shadow clone and the requirement was also very high. “Let’s see if this is really shadow clone technique that you know of Shikamaru.”

‘I know that the book that was given to me is a shadow clone technique skill book because Jii-chan and others told me about it beforehand. But what Naruto says doesn’t match what Shikamaru is saying who has seen or read the real shadow clone technique of the Konoha.’

‘The technique that Naruto used can be some upgraded version of academy clone technique or the Shadow Clone technique made for Naruto if that is possible. If I start thinking like this…’

Raito sighed as he asked Naruto to make two clones. Shikamaru and Raito, and the two clones paired; one of the clone went with Raito and other with Shikamaru in the opposite direction, towards the bushes, leaving the original behind alone.

“Remember the word ‘Cloud’,” Shikamaru said then turned around.

Raito picked up a stone from the ground and asked, “What is this?”

The clone looked funny as he answered, “Stone.”

Regrouping, Naruto and Shikamaru sat in front of Naruto, who was sitting with his two clones.

“So, what now?” Naruto looked at his two clones, who also looked back at him in question.

“Tell them to go back.” Shikamaru face palmed.

Puff, puff.

The two clones disappeared in a cloud of chakra smoke and Raito saw the CP bar filling back to 8th of total CP.

“Naruto, what did I say?” Shikamaru asked.

“And what did I show you?” Raito asked.

Raito and Shikamaru looked at Naruto in excitement for different reasons.

Naruto blinked his eyes several times before answering, “Shikamaru said ‘Cloud’, and Raito showed me a ‘Stone’.”

“Yeah,” Raito high-five Shikamaru with a big smile on his face.

Except for the two, there was another person near who was happy about Naruto’s success in making a shadow clone.

“Chōji, attack.” Raito jumped back and turned midway then said, “You are not going anywhere, Hinata.”

“Eep!” Letting out a weird sound, Hinata dodged Chōji and Raito.

“Hinata?” Naruto looked at Hinata and called her out.

“Na-Naruto-kun,” A girl with featureless lavender eyes with short dark blue hair came out of the bushes with a big bag in her hand.

“I-I di-didn’t mean to.” She bowed hurriedly with moist eyes.

“Hinata, wanna join us?” Naruto gave a kick out of the blue as everyone stared at him.

“Th-that’s a good idea.” Raito tried to be calm about it. ‘When did he turn?’

“I don’t care anymore,” Shikamaru sprawled on the ground looking at the sky.

“I wanna eat already,” Chōji walked over and sat beside Shikamaru.

“Hinata-san, what are you doing here? Were you looking for someone?” Raito sat on the ground and started taking out bento.

“Give it a break, let’s eat.” Shikamaru mock punched Raito and looked at Hinata.

“I-I m-m-made some e-extra fo-food to-today so I-I would l-like to share it.” Hinata shuttered all the way through as Naruto sat and patted the area beside him.

“Let’s share.” Breaking the chopsticks, everyone opened their bento.

“Sure, here is my curry special.” Raito pushed his bento forward with a few spoons.

“Eggs and bacon here.” Chōji cut the eggs and bacon with his chopsticks and pushed them forward.

“Um, I made a lot of things here.” The bento was two-layered and she opened her bento, the food items blinded everyone.

Rice, tempura shrimp, fried chicken, meatballs, raw vegetables and fruits, greens. Everything was so much. If Chōji was not present, it could feed everyone there.

“Whoa, there is a lot of food there.” Chōji was salivating, looking at the variety.

“Let’s dig in.” Naruto started after everyone gave a small prayer.

“Hinata-san, you should eat fast,” Raito advised looking at the confused Hinata.

With that said, everyone started eating faster because Chōji would eat as much as everyone combined and as fast as everyone combined.

Patting his bulged tummy, Naruto burped happily, “Ah, I am really full.”

“Hinata’s cooking is much better than Raito.” Chōji looked at Raito and commented.

Raito also nodded sagely as he added, “Of course it is, she made it with love after all.”

Hinata blushed hearing the comments. “T-Thank you for the p-praise.”

Chōji shifted his eyes craftily, “Hinata, why don’t you join us at lunch from now on.”

“I would love to,” Hinata answered quickly as though her life depended on it.

“We get to eat more delicious food made by the Hinata. Awesome,” Naruto gave his trademark smile to Hinata.

Hinata blushed while Shikamaru just shook his head.

Chōji and Shikamaru lay on the ground, looking at the clouds. Raito and Naruto followed suit while Hinata remains sitting.

“Hinata, come, lie down here” Naruto patted the space beside him and said thinking that no one else was going to tell her to.

Hinata did what she was told and lay on the ground, looking at the sky and clouds.

“The clouds looked so uncaring and free. I wish my life was like that.” Shikamaru sighed and closed his eyes.

“Like your mom will ever let that happen.” Raito broke his dream and added, “I am guessing she would be ready to train the moment you walk in.”

“Tch,”

After a while when everything was calm, Raito opened his mouth and said, “Wanna skip with me? I really don’t want to go.”

“Huh? But, I wanted to show a cool move I learned yesterday. I practiced the whole night with my clones for it.”

Raito sighed, “I just don’t want to fight Sakura.”

“You are sparring with Sakura?” Chōji turned to look at Raito.

“You didn’t go there today, did you?” Shikamaru turned and faced Raito.

“…Yeah”

Hinata felt more and more confused hearing their conversation, “Um, what is going on?”

Shikamaru was the first to rat him out, “Every time he doesn’t go to his lucky place, he gets to fight Sakura.”

“Isn’t that just coincidence?” Hinata asked.

“It happened seven times in a row when Iruka-sensei was Raito’s homeroom teacher.” Chōji raised his hand towards the sky and answered.

“I really happen,” Naruto added.

“Anyway, let’s go,” Shikamaru stood up and patted his pants.

At the training hall

Naruto ranked up in kunai and shuriken throwing raking and Raito topped the ranks with Sasuke in the first place.

Girls were a bit noisy but things came to end with Iruka-sensei shouting.

Iruka looked at everyone and said, “Everyone line up, three platforms, three pairings then switch, understand?”

“This is just a sparring match. So, no Ninjutsu, no weapons allowed, only Taijutsu.”

Haruno Sakura vs. Yoshizawa Raito

Uchiha Sasuke vs. Akimichi Chōji

Uzumaki Naruto vs. Masami Iwasawa

Raito sighed while Shikamaru chuckled.

“Naruto, show them.” Raito patted Naruto’s shoulder then walked to the stage.

“[Observe]” Raito murmured.

“What a waste.” Raito sighed as he closed the status tab.

“Seal of confrontation.” Iruka-sensei was the referee for the match.

Raito and Sakura did so and got into a simple battle stance.

“FIGHT.”

“Haruno, you should just quit,” Raito smirked as he lowered the center of his gravity.

“I can’t, Sasuke-kun is looking at me,” Sakura shouted, turning heads and disgusting Raito.

“Ugh, delusional fan girl,” Raito sighed as a new notification tab appeared in front of his eyes.

[Quest Alert – Sakura Blossom (Chain Quest)]

Despite being the smartest in the room, Sakura is always distracted by Sasuke, her object of delusions.

With a little help here and there, she could greatly improve.

Objective – Help Sakura improve.

Success – 10 Exp

“Just ten-” Pupils dilated as Raito activated ‘[Chakra Sense]’ as he sensed a fist flying towards his face.

Raito activated his chakra and sent it to his ankles and then to the corresponding muscles for the next step.

Taking the straight to his cheek, Raito used his ankle as an axis and turned a full circle, followed by grabbing Sakura and throwing her out of the stage.

Iruka sighed as he circled Raito in the notebook and said, “Switch with Chōji when they finish.”

Raito nodded and saw Iruka checking Sakura’s wellbeing.

Raito looked at his notification tab and gritted his teeth. Walking towards Iruka and Sakura, Raito grabbed a bottle and unscrewed it. Collecting a bit in his hand, he sprinkled some on Sakura’s face, which surprised Iruka.

Hearing Sakura groan, Raito said, “Buzz like a bee or bark like a dog, you are always gonna be Sakura. Do you think Sasuke is going to notice you if you are gonna be around him all the time?”

Iruka did not intervene and let Raito talk.

“There are 29 other students in the class and he only remembers a few names. I am sorry to say but you are not one of them.”

“Instead of trying to be his partner in love, why don’t you try to be his partner in fighting? He would probably like that more.”

[Quest Alert – Sakura Blossom (Chain Quest) – Success]

Raito closed the tab and immediately got up. Feeling the shiver running down his spine, Raito felt like he was about to gag. ‘It’s a chain quest. I will get good rewards.’

[Quest Alert – Lone Avenger (Chain Quest)]

Raito skipped all and accepted the quest.

“Yoshizawa Raito, Uchiha Sasuke, get ready,” Mari called out as she looked at Raito.

“If you feel that you cannot compete then you can back out.” Mari looked at two and scratched her head, “A good shinobi must be able to recognize his condition before engaging, whenever possible.”

Raito looked at Sasuke and made a seal of confrontation then got into a battle stance. ‘Sasuke after Sakura evens it out.’

“Wanna go out to eat?” Raito asked.

Sasuke raised his brows in confusion then he finally heard the people behind him starting to talk.

“He wants to monopolize our Sasuke-kun,”

“Die, Raito.”

“Go away.”

Raito smile at the comments and looked at Sasuke’s pale face.

Driven by hatred and a thirst for vengeance, there is nothing he will not do in exchange for the power to slay his brother. Yet, deep inside him, there is still the good person he was before the Uchiha Massacre.

Letting out a deep breath, Raito dashed forward, his elbow pointing towards Sasuke’s chest, his other hand stabilizing the elbow thrusting hand.

Sasuke raised his guards with both of his hands, expecting to grab Raito’s elbow.

At the last moment of the elbow tackle, Sasuke smirked as he pushed down Raito’s elbow and launched him sideways. He grabbed Raito’s jacket and maneuvered so that he could kick Raito’s back.

Raito felt the grab and let Sasuke moved around before rotating and grabbing his arms. With the built-up momentum, Raito pulled Sasuke and slammed him on the floor.

For a while, the hall was silent, then shouts started forming against Raito.

Mari looked at the two, who were silently eyeing each other, grabbing the other’s wrist and lying on the floor.

“Get up, you two. It’s not the time to glare.” Mari said, looking very professional.

“Move your hands away, Sasuke.” Raito and Sasuke stood up but didn’t let go of the wrist they were grabbing.

“You let go, first.” Sasuke glared.

“Sure,” Raito let go of Sasuke’s wrist but pulled him in with other. He raised his legs and sent a high kick towards Sasuke’s head.

Releasing the wrist, Sasuke quickly dodged the kick by leaning backward. Seeing the gaps in the attack, Sasuke quickly moved his body forwards and stomped on the ground, pushing him forward, as he went for a tackle.

‘Heh,’ Raito smirked. With the momentum of his kick, Raito moved his upper body and raised his silent leg.

Sasuke was in mid-air as the heel of Raito’s foot came in contact with Sasuke’s head, sending him down.

Raito laid on his back, gasping for air whereas Sasuke lay with his belly down.

Mari circled Raito’s name and went to check on Sasuke.

[Quest Alert – Lone Avenger (Chain Quest) – Complete]

Other teachers called the next six students and the previous group went to their respective teachers for guidance.

Raito and Sasuke walked towards Mari whereas Naruto and Chōji went to Iruka.

Mari looked at two and said, “You both are getting chummy with each other’s moves. Try to improvise on that.”

Then she looked at Raito and said, “Don’t try to distract him… if you can.”

Turning to face Sasuke, she added, “Don’t think that you will always have an ideal situation.”

“For the next two weeks, I will try and pair you two with other students.” Mari closed her notebook and said, “Otherwise, it’s all good. I hope you two continue to improve.”

The two students nodded before walking back.

Raito looked at Sasuke’s gloomy face and said, “Aren’t you happy to know that your fan girls are still strong as ever?”

Pausing, Sasuke gave a glare, trying to make Raito explode.

Raito waved his hand and walked towards Chōji and Naruto who were leaving Iruka.

Iruka looked at Raito for a moment before going back to his work.

“Chips?” Raito took out a bag of chips and opened the packet.

“Thank you,” Chōji hurriedly grabbed the packet and started eating happily. Raito let go of the packet and used Observe on him.

Naruto rubbed his hands and looked at Raito. “She is dangerous.”

“Iwasawa? Yea, she deals with poisons.” Raito looked at Iwasawa then at Naruto and added, “If she was allowed to use poison then she would have beat you in seconds.”

As the academy ended, everyone started hurrying home, instead of Raito who was in front of Mari.

“Report to section A from tomorrow.”

“What! Why?” Raito shouted and added, “I am fine at section B.”

“Hokage’s order.”

Raito frowned and spoke up. “But it’s near the end of the program. Isn’t it better to do something like this at the beginning or in the middle? Why now?”

Mari sighed as she went from 0 to 100 as she grabbed Raito’s head and said, “Tomorrow section A, understood?”

“Yes ma’am.” Raito immediately accepted his fate, in fear of getting his head squeezed.
