Chapter 0: Prolouge

Black, it's all black. I don't know what happened but I can vaguely remember having to go somewhere... Am I dead? Did all that gaming and programming in front of the computer cause my body to give in? But somehow this doesn't scare me as much as I thought it would... I was more afraid that death would be some kind of unbearable hell where you'd only feel intense pain for an eternity. Or maybe you'd lose all your memories and be reborn a barnacle.

Now that I think about it, being dead like this is also bad. If I'm able to think like this for an eternity I will go crazy... I don't like being dead.

As I think that, I start to regain my ability to feel and I can sense the cool air around me.

I slowly open my eyes and see a dim light in front of me, or was it above me?

After being able to adjust I can clearly see a big chandelier hanging from the ceiling above me. What is this place? And how did I get here?

As I was lying there on the floor I could hear some people talking around me, all ignoring the man just lying there on the floor. "Where are we?" and "What's up with this place" were the kind of conversations I heard.

I see... So I'm not the only one.

I sit up and take a look around the room. It looked a lot like the lobby of one of those fancy haunted mansions that you'd see in some horror flick, two stairways at the far corners of the room, a big double door leading to the outside and walls with torn red wallpaper. As I analyze my surroundings I notice that everyone else in the room is wearing a mask of some sort. There is a Dracula, a werewolf and there is someone wearing just a paper bag. I realize I myself am wearing a mask, I don't really know what kind of mask. I have a weird feeling about taking it off, so I'll keep it on for now.

"Hey, you there in the fox mask!" a person in a creepy Frankenstein mask points at me and walks towards me. I guess that answers the question of what mask I'm wearing.

"Are you the one in charge here?!" he keeps rudely pointing at me and looks like he is ready to crush my bones and use them as toothpicks. "Sorry, I have no clue what this place even is." I reply. He just lets out a tsk and goes to the next person screaming the same thing in their face.

I take another glance at the people in the room but I don't know if there's any point to it. I mean, I'm not good with starting a conversation with anyone. Well I guess I could try, I don't really need to greet anyone with a smile or anything.

I see Dracula sit at a table near the stairway talking to Mr Paperbag. They seemed to talk in a more calm tone than everyone else, hence why I can't listen in to their conversation from across the room.

I decide to go a little closer, and just before I could even say a single word the room started to shake. There was a loud sound that sounded a lot like that of a broken French horn or trumpet mixed with some people screaming for their dear life. The double door that I had first assumed to be the entrance opened and a thin figure walked into the room, actually thin was a bit of an understatement. A scraggily skeleton walked in wearing a top hat and holding a golden cane in his bony hand.

I could see one or two people seemingly fainting at the sight of the strange thing, which wasn't much of a surprise. I myself had to think that it must be some kind of holographic projection or something, that it wasn't really a skeleton. Of course it was hard to think that when I was unable to find anything that would project such a clear image, so I think it'd be easier to explain to myself that it is in fact not a skeleton I am seeing but actually just a really really skinny man.

"Welcome little humans!" the skinny man said with a really deep voice. So it's definitely a man. Yup, not a skeleton at all. I hear a scream behind me and see a girl just pointing at the man "It's a s-s-skeleton!" she shrieks with a shattering tone. Way to break my fantasy...

"Yes, thanks for pointing it out little girl. Ahem, my name is Georgio and I am the master of this place..." the skeleton, I mean the man starts introducing himself and tells us about how we got here.

Apparently we were individuals picked out by random to participate in some sort of game. He explained that we were in fact not in our own world anymore, but actually in a different dimension built for the purpose of the game by some deities wanting to entertain themselves.

"You jerks, I'll fuck your shit up!" the Frankenstein guy from before ran up to the skeleton and started throwing punches, which the skeleton graciously dodged.

"Now now, there will be enough time to punch the air later." the skeleton snaps his chalk white fingers and barely a second later Frankenstein is pinned on the floor.

"Shit, let me go you bony fuckf-" Frankenstein is silenced by some silver tape magically applying itself to cover his mouth.

"Now, anyone else got anything to say?"

Everyone is completely silent, well there are some people crying in a corner shocked with the whole ordeal.

"Good, then let me explain the game! You have been locked inside this mansion and there is only one way to escape. Should you try to jump out a window or break open the door then an endless abyss awaits you." he showcases the dark empty nothingness that can be seen outside of the open double door. "Now, the one way to escape this mansion is if you are able to murder one person without anyone else noticing it or figuring it out. Any means of murder is acceptable."

Wait... What?
