'That was exciting', I thought after I slaughtered over 1000 zombies in a school basement with no room to dodge the attacks. I took a little bit of damage but because I levelled up, I got my health restored. I finished the quest in 10 minutes, so probably nobody felt my absence. The classmates think that I am with the president to make the plan work, and the president thinks I'm with my classmates, so everything worked out, at least that's what I believe.

From those gifts from the beta, I got a coat that has incredible durability and defence, meaning that in case of something, I'm prepared. I also got a demonic sword, which is the best weapon ever. It has a bleeding and burning effect, destroying my enemies in an instant. Now let's see what we got from this quest. They say that I can loot the place after I kill the monsters.

As I was walking through the corpses, I found a chest in the back of the room. More rewards, I thought before opening the chest. Inside the chest, I found a piece of a sphere. When I took it, the system said

[You got a piece of 'Void Power'; you need to get 4 more to acquire the skill.]

'Void power', what is that?

"Hey, voice, can you tell me what this is?"

"It looks like it didn't take long to ask for my help, kukuku"

"Shut up and answer, you are a class, you naturally know more about skills than me, so talk."

"You are quite aggressive, but I'll indulge. The 'Void Power' skill is actually void power; you can manipulate void like magic."

"Wait, if I get all those pieces, I can control the void like others can control fire or water."

"Yes, it's a very strong power, not as strong as mine, but you should try to get it to destroy even more."

"Okay, you can shut up now; if I hear more about destruction, I swear I'll shut you up myself. Now I will get the cores of the zombies, and maybe I can sell them for something."

"I have a better idea; if you use one of my skills called 'Soul Corruption,' you can revive those guys and summon them at will; maybe it will help with the scenario, and if they die again, it will be permanent this time."

"I don't know what to say; it might be useful, but maybe I can get more coins."

"No one will buy the cores of two-star zombies; they are useless. You will quicksell them and probably get 200 coins. But if you corrupt them and control them, you can kill other beasts, which you can sell with more money, or corrupt them too."

"Fine, I'll do it."

I used the skill and corrupted all the dead monsters, and they disappeared into the tentacles. The voice told me that I can summon them just by thinking about the amount and beast for when I will get different types.

Okay, let's get out of here. I walked out of the basement, and no one was in sight.

"Phew, it seems like no one followed me."

I climbed the stairs, and when I arrived in the hallway of the ground floor, I almost bumped into the president.

"Whoa,I thought there was a monster. What are you doing here, president?"

"I was supervising the plan, but what were you doing down in the basement?"

"Looking for that goddamn crystal or what the hell that is." I told him, trying to look slightly angry.

"Oh, we found the crystal; it's in the 'heating plant, as the game calls it. We send there the ones who can supply that, as you said."

"Nice, also, I wanted to ask you: do we have in this school a gaming club, like the football club, but with games?"

"Oh, we have something like that, or to be more precise, we had, because all the members are dead, I think. I will talk to Blair to confirm."

Probably Blair is that guy at the discussions who said he is good at games.

"I will check with my class to set up final details, then let's have the representatives meet on the roof to have a full overview of the scenario."

"Sounds good; you should hurry; there are 15 minutes left until the start of the scenario."

The president stayed there, and I walked up the stairs to my class floor. As I walked to my door, I saw Albert leaning on the wall with a blank expression on his face. When I got closer to him, he shook out and looked at me.

"I finished what you told me, I hope it will be worth it."

"If you want to live,it was worth it. But why are you staying here? The class is much cleaner; as you see, this is not the best-looking place, and I'm not going to talk about the smell."

"Inside is like a dojo; they are trying to use those skills; it's such a hassle to watch, and if that wasn't enough, there are people who are looking at me like I am some dragon. So to not pick a fight with them, I'm staying here."

"Your choice, I need to set up the final details, so take care."

I walked inside, and Albert was right—this place is like a dojo. Everybody is just training. You won't see a class so passionate about learning. When I walked in, I told Michael to come to me.

"So how is everything going? I left you in charge of supervising and teaching."

"How do you think? They are learning on their own, why in the name of God, would you let me in charge.Thank God we have Kate here who is learning along with them, and then she teaches, or else we would've been back to point 1."

I knew he wouldn't be able to do much, but it's nice to tease him, and those reactions are kind of funny. The best teacher would've been Albert, but he would've killed them if they struggled too much.

This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.

"Ok, ok, I get it; at least did you learn something?"

"I'm working on it. Sorry, I'm not a prodigy who can use his skills without training."

I let him alone with his inferiority complex and went to Kate to check on the situation.

"So what's the status?" I said while slightly smiling.

"The cadets are doing well, sir," she said while saluting.

"Now, seriously speaking, they are improving very fast. They learned the mechanics and how to activate the skills. At the moment, they are improving the mastery, as you said."

"Good, I heard that the barrier crystal is in the engine room. We need to send those who can support the barrier there. And also, how is improving the communication we need?"

"She is improving, I guess; she is not the talkative type, and she's also very shy, but we'll get it done."

What were the odds that our network system would be a shy girl, but it's not something that I need in this scenario, so that's why I arranged the roof meeting. When you don't have a mouth, you need eyes.

"Set up the fighters at the windows and ground level. I need to go to the roof to meet with the other representatives and to oversee the fight."

"Wow, we became so coordinated in such a short amount of time."

"It's human nature to survive, just like a wolf pack. The old ones or the injured are in front and protected by 2-3 wolves, then we have the rest of the pack and the last one is the alpha, who protects the others."

"You are saying that everyone is making an order when everything else falls apart."

"In essence yes, but I'm saying that every living thing on earth that is fighting to survive creates it's own hierarchy because you can't fight alone all the time. You are not all mighty, everyone has weaknesses, even Achiles, and when discovered, the enemies will exploit them. That's why we fight together, to let others do what we can't."

I left the classroom and told Albert that the scenario was starting. I arrived on the roof, and almost everyone was there. It was around 5 minutes before the scenario.

"Is everyone in position?" The president asked me.

"Yes, I told them everything they needed to know."

"Good; everyone else is prepared and in position. We created a network, and we are able to communicate with every squad."

(This guy thinks he can control all these people, but he will soon find his downfall and, thus, his death.)

You are now a fortune teller. It's true that he can't maintain control forever, but that doesn't necessarily mean death.

(You are still too young to understand everything. I did not state that his leadership skills would bring him death, didn't I? His nature will be his downfall)

A person who thinks he can win all will be shatered in front of absolute power, is what you're saying, right?

(Yes, he is too sure of himself, but he's weak. He should not defy fate like this.)

He is trying to motivate everyone, that's why he's doing that.

(I have a gut that he was like this from before the game started. He tries to understand all of this to find a method to be the strongest, but he will die in the process)

I might die as well, I am searching for more power, and I might die in the process too.

(No you can't. You have something that he doesn't. You have ME. And with me by your side you will never die.)

Oh, really, look who is the one full of himself. Who makes you think you are so great?

(I just state the obvious. Not even the game found a way to classify me.)

Yea, yea, sure, dream on if you want.

1 minute until the scenario.

In the last minute before the scenario, I just stared at the sunset. The orange sunset that played upon us. The last ray of life in a world filled with death. Probably this is the last scenario of the day. And we probably need to sleep in the school. Who would've thought that we would have a sleepover at school. And with that thought the second scenario started.

[Second scenario – King of the Castle]

[You have to protect the zone you are in using the barrier and your powers. You need to survive the waves of [Zombies], or to destroy the source of it in order to pass the scenario]

[Time limit: no limit]

[Reward: 20.000 coins and 800 orions]

[Failiure: death]

So we were given the zombies, I was expecting minotaurs. The zombies are weak but they are a lot. I guess that quest gave me a hint.

When he read the scenario the president turned his head towards me with an intriguing look

"You were right, frighteningly so. How did you so called hunch been so right?"

"It was a coincidence, but as a gamer I gave a nose for this things."

[First wave started]

"Everyone on their posts" shouted the president.

I started to smile and when the zombies aproached I said:

"BOOM!!"

When I said that a giant explosion set of all around the school blowing up all the zombies circling the school.

"What in the world was that?"

"Heh, that was phase one of my plan. Now let's go to phase two."

When I said that I jumped from the roof and the team Albert and I put together started to rush outside of the barrier. When we got outside the barrier I summoned my zombies.

"Corrupted zombies, attack all normal zombies and discover the place whey they came from".

Then, 1000 black zombies started to run in front of us starting to attack all the other normal zombies.

"Wow, so you had tricks up your sleeve.Where did you bring those guys from?"

"Every magician has his secrets. You can say I took them out from my hat. By the way, cool explosion."

"You liked it, that thing tired me. And I also finished the other thing you told me about."

"Then all the pieces are in motion, the only thing now is to find the source and stop it before they summon the big guys."

All five of us plus the zombies started to cut through the waves of zombies while running and avoiding the trees. I started to get XP from my zombies kills.

Meanwhile, at the school

"Can someone tell me what just happened?" asked the president.

"Well, Andrew Shade blew up the zombies, jumped from the roof and rushed through the barrier with other four guys, starting to kill zombies." said one of the representatives.

"I saw that, but what happened to the plan? This isn't what we discussed."

"Maybe it's better this way, after all he guessed the scenario."

Upon hearing those words, the president got angry.

"No, that's not better. He may have guessed the scenario, but if he makes his own rules, the whole school will make their rules as well, and we will die. This is unacceptable; if he comes back after this, he will face the consequences."

In the yard there were people who shot zombies who tried to approach the school.

"Man, did you see that guy who jumped from the roof, that was amazing."

"And he made most of our work too."

"But the president looks angry."

"He is an order freak, if this guy clears this scenario and the president wants to do something about it, we will stand up for him."

"Of course."

Somewhere on the first floor where Kate and her team is.

"Was that Andrew who jumped from the roof?"

"It seemed like it." said Kate.

"Oh my god, man, why would you do something so dangerous?" said Michael.

"He is risking his life to save us, we should help him too with what we can." said Kate.

The guys in the engine room are supplying the barrier with energy.

[Wave 2 is starting]

"The first wave didn't even scratch the barrier."

"The guys on the comms are saying that a guy called Andrew Shade bombed the zombies outside and got out of the barrier to slay the rest of them."

"Did you say Andrew Shade? He is from our class."

"Wow, I guess he is pretty brave to do something like that, but I didn't hear of him."

"He is not popular at all but, ever since this game started he looks out for everyone and helps us with all he can but before, he was invisible."

"I would like to know him, we are here for so long but we don't know many people from other classes."

"We will meet everyone, since there are nowhere left to go and since this barrier protects us, we will stay here until this nightmare ends."

Back on the roof

"President, they keep on coming; what should we do?"

"We need to keep them away, let's reassign people from other places to the front."

"We can't they are coming from everywhere, we need to protect this place ourselves."

The zombies continued their death march towards the school to destroy the last wall between sanity and madness but in that moment when they were one step away from the barrier a giant rift opened up below their fit, swallowing all of them and the ones who kept on marching saving the school this way from the second wave.

"We are alive, but how, we didn't build that hole, wait don't tell me he-"

"Andrew Shade once again subdued my authority and mocked the order I created and we created, just to show off." Said the president, glaring at where he thought Andrew was.

But in the case of Andrew, he was faced for the first time since the game started with what we call unpredictability, or what the game called a new wave, the third wave.

"We are almost at the place zombies said it's the gate of the zombies."

"They should better be right because I won't run aimlessly around the school just to find a gate or whatever that is. Hell, I would better fight all of those waves just to finish them."

"I wouldn't say that in your place. At the last wave, a giant zombie will get out, and it will be very hard to take him down. It is what you would call the boss."

"You mean that big guy over there?"

When we got out of the park, we found our gate, but we also found something else, a giant bulk zombie standing in front of the gate, watching in the direction of the school.

"What the fuck is that guy doing here? That wasn't supposed to happen; I did all this in order to avoid that."

"Oh, you didn't want to fight hulks father?"

"That is hulk on steroids, and hulk who ate 20 more hulks."

The giant turned his gaze for the first time from the school to us and then he let out a roar so powerful that he blew all the trees behind us, signalling that we were his first target before going to the school.
