The two teenagers, Alex and Alex, stumbled into a store they'd never seen before; it looked dilapidated and aged, like it had been there for years, but they'd never seen it before even though they used this route often to go to school. An old sign on the door read "antiques." For some reason, despite their better judgment, the children decided to check it out.
It was close to mother's day, and Alex and Alex hadn't decided on anything to get their parents, so they decided to browse the shop to see if there was anything they could afford and use as a gift.
“Hey, what about that rocking chair?” Alex asked. “Your mom seems like she likes to sit around and knit clothes for your little sister.”
“It’s a thousand dollars!” Alex complained. “I don’t have that kind of money.” While Alex was fussing about the outrageous price, she bumped into something else. “Ooh, hey, what about this for your mom?”
Alex picked up the item in his hand and examined it. “Hmm, what is this? It looks like a faberge egg.”

“Wait, it’s got controllers! Is it a game system?” Alex asked, excitedly.
“Alex, we’re supposed to be shopping for our parents,” Alex chided.
“Yeah, but it’s an antique shop. What if this is like something Mom played when she was a kid?” Alex asked.
Alex squinted at the item. “I’m not even sure these types of systems existed when she was a kid.”
“Come on, it’s only twenty dollars; it’s one of the few things here we can afford,” she explained, almost jumping up and down.
“You can get it for your mom, but I’m looking for something that my mom might actually like,” Alex quipped dismissively.
“Come on, what else are you going to get? It’s all super expensive!” Alex complained.
Alex sighed and walked away from his friend, browsing the aisles, determined to prove her wrong, but he couldn’t find anything. Everything was over five-hundred dollars, at least. “You know what? I think I’ll just get her flowers and chocolate,” Alex conceded.
