Desperation

Alex woke up in complete darkness. How long had it been? Where was he? Why couldn't he feel his legs?

As if the whole world came crashing down reality hit him with a major slap in the face.

Taking in his surroundings, or lack thereof, Alex tried getting up when he realised his legs where completely gone from just just over his knees. All he could see was some blue screens floating in his vision like it was the most natural thing in the world. He scrolled through the notifications, noticing he actually didn't have to use his hands, which was a good thing because all his energy was depleted and he really just felt like dying.

He could summarize that the world indeed was not the same as he was lead to believe.

The world had gone completely to shit was all his mind could focus on at the moment. Calming himself down, well as calm one could be in a hellhole, he once again focused on the more recent notifications.

Stopping at the first notification that actually seemed to be useful, and dismissing the rest for the time being, he wondered how in the fuck he was supposed to choose 3 random items from his belongings and why that even was necessary. He then realised he actually wasn't wearing any clothes, feeling the cold and pretty solid ground underneath him.

''FUCK!! You think this is some kind of joke?!'' He yelled out to no one in particular. ''Just you wait I will fucking bash your skull in with a baseball bat if i ever find out who you are!''. Being angry was a clear understatement, the ones responsible for fucking up his life like this would surely pay, not that his life was that all great for the time being, but that was not problem.

Congratulations you have chosen the uncommon item [Baseball Bat].

Alex just stared at the notification dumbfounded. Being reminded that this was all real hit him once again, not that he would forget, but the feeling of a baseball bat hitting him square in the forehead sure helped. He really didn't mind the choiche of the baseball bat, what he did mind however was the fact that said baseball bat, without warning, had just spawned right over his head. Seeing as he was lying down it sort of made sense, but that didn't help making his mood better.

Being as paranoid as he always had a baseball bat under his bed, and for the first time he would actually get to use it, albeit not the way no sane person would think of.

''No no, focus Alex, what else do we need..? Ah!'' Focusing on the task at hand he once again focused. He actually felt like he was cheating, coming from Norway not many people played american football, but he, he did.

Now for the last item he wanted, well that was easy. The first aid kit he, and any responsible person for that matter, had in the medicine closet at home. Well not his per se, but he shared it with his roommate and he was the one who bought it after all so it was good enough for this wicked system.

Congratulations you have chosen the common item [First aid kit].

He had actually made these two decisions right after one another, and being a little out of it to put it lightly both of the items popped into existence right over his head.

''Well that one is on me i guess..'' He said, not being able to blame the system this time around for his silly mistake.

Trying to collect his thoughts again he moved on to the next step, figuring out what the fuck he was supposed to do that was. He figured he could check out what those spells he got awarded did, but how was he supposed to even do that?

Remembering how he actually didn't have to do anything special, besides focusing, to get the notifications to move along he came to the conclusion focusing on those weird spell names would be enough.

Well two of them were pretty easy to understand, after all what boy hadn't played some games when he was little. Seeing appraisal and silent casting he was quite sure those did exactly as one would expect so he moved over to lumos, at least knowing it had to do be something about light, right?

[Lumos]

Wasting no time he cast the spell, not wanting to be in complete darkness any longer, figuring that he would only need to focus on the spellname since he had the silent casting spell available. Opening his eyes he could see a ball of dark red light hovering over him.

Wait that wasn't right, why was his vision all red? Using the little energy he had left he cleared his eyes from the strange liquid in them. Being able to see he took in his surroundings, which wasn't much at first glance, as he expected he was in some form of dark cave. He turned his head to see that a small opening into the cave was visible over what seemed to be some form of opening over a small puddle of water, well at least he thought that, but he couldn't be sure, seeing as he was lying down on the ground and barely able to move. The cave also seemed to be some 2 meters high and a couple of rocs were littered all over the place, and there just in a pile of rocks next to the puddle of water was a small blue transparent ball about 10cm in diameter.

Well that had to wait for the next thing he saw when he tried to look at his feet made his heart sink deep into his chest, and reality for that matter as well. Ignoring the fact his legs were gone, he could see that he was not as alone as one might think.

It would seem he not only had spawned in a dungeon, but the reason his legs were gone were made abundantly clear as well.

Not only had he spawned in a damn dungeon, the reason his legs were missing was because he had been brought here with his legs cut clean off by him spawning with them inside the wall. At least he was lucky enough that the system had taken the liberty of cauterizing his wounds, not that he had the capacity to think about such matters for the time being.

''HAHAHAH guess it is a silver lining too everything huh?'' was the last words he spoke before his mind collapsed and he once again fainted. Because the last thing he saw was not his missing legs but rather that Elijah were missing half his body, from being spawned with his right side in the wall, and the reason he was seeing red at the start of all this was not because of some strange liquid, but rather that Elijah's blood had sprayed all over his face.

Fading into darkness the last thought that escaped his mind was simply ''well fuck''.
