The Founder
Prologue: Society's flaws

Prologue: Society's flaws

The boy lay in his bed staring blankly at the ceiling, waiting for sleep to claim his soul.

How he hated society, the hypocritical system that it was.

People told you to work hard, yet gave you so many reasons to not work at all.

The people who were scared of who they were so hurt other people,

to distract themselves from the realisation that they were changing to something they hated. The boy sighed.

The world seemed so gray and pointless, like a monotone painting,

beautiful in its own limited way, but ultimately flawed and limited.

Hell indeed was other people.

He wished life was different and he did not feel so estranged from the rest of humanity,

however idiotic they were, the need for companionship was far stronger than rationality.

"No!", he thought, society is too broken to be fixed.

He closed his eyes to try and distance himself from these unusual thoughts

but they persisted, as if they were a swarm of wasps inside his brain jabbing him with poisonous thoughts.

He wished that humans were like that. He thought it was stupid how people separated each other with labels

when it was obvious to him that they were all the same. Freedom was an illusion.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Even in countries like the USA where people were "free", they still had to pay taxes.

Everyone, no matter how free they claimed to be, they still had a superior, someone who controlled them.

Even the most independent person would still die.

He finally began to drift off to sleep, his head filled with thoughts.

What if he was just alone, without other influences,

so he could be himself without being altered by other people.

He imagined the perfect world for him. It would be full of wide open spaces,

plains and plateaus with many rock formations dotted here and there for shelter.

Mountains would sprout in the distance like the hands of Titans grasping for the heavens.

There would be many animals who were loyal to their pack leader unto death and

they would be the dominant species of the world.

He smiled at the thought of a dominant species of people with unbreakable bonds of family.

That would be his dream species.

With the thought of being part of a true family for once he closed his eyes and fell asleep
