Letters From The Front, November to December, year unknown.

November 6th

Hey momma,

How have you been? I know its been a while since my last letter and I am sorry about that. It seems something happened up north and we went on high alert. That was four weeks ago, nothing new has come from northern HQ that I’m aware of but no one seems outwardly worried. Either way I’m just happy the restrictions on letters and other base communication back home is allowed. How is Shelly? I know she turned 12 last week, wish her a late birthday for me will ya! I’ll try to keep the letters as frequent as I can, I love you. May the Seeker watch over us.

November 11th

Dear mother,

This week we got fresh recruits from down south, they are definitely green. They can barely hold a gun let alone portal unsupervised. A new guide on training was released from HQ yesterday, it’s heavy on jungle and thick woodland fighting. It is a little strange as no jungles and not much woodlands are in our area. I fear there is more to this than we know, a few soldiers have started to whisper about new move orders, but I doubt this is true. We have not transferred in over a year. How is Shelly, I got your letter a few days ago. I pray she is feeling better. Is her fever still high? Do I need to send a transfer of funds or something? Please keep me informed when you can, I love you both. May the Seeker watch over us.

November 16th

Hey momma,

I’m so glad to hear about Shelly’s fast recovery! I can only pray for her and our luck keeps going. We have received word that the enemy has fallen back fully in the West, as of yesterday at 1200 we are fully in control of the lower 48! I am overjoyed by this, maybe the war will end soon? High hopes I know, but I just wish for a brighter tomorrow. Not all are happy though, some whispers in the barracks claim the upper north is no longer in HQ hands, and that they are lying to us. They would not do such things I am sure, I will be reporting them to their C.O. post haste. Have no fear momma, the fighting is far away and I am safe, I pray to come home soon. May the Seeker watch over us.

November 30th

Dear Momma,

Your last letter worries me greatly. What do you mean you hear whispers that D.C. has fallen? I can assure you it has not, the great fort still stands proud! I am a mere 40 miles from its great white doors, and you are to tell me the foul enemy has taken its halls and we have not heard of it? Absurd mother, I will not tolerate this traitors talk! I pray you seek the Seeker’s gudicane and learn your straying from the grand path. I will check up on you soon, I love you. May the Seeker watch over us.

Yours, Harold

December 10th

Dear Mother,

I have received your many letters and your blasphemy will not taint me. I can no longer continue this series of letters if you keep trying to claim these lies about D.C.! I have worked hard to keep you and Shelly safe, do not destroy it with this madness! I love you, and I write this mostly for one reason. I have been assigned to escort the delegate of Maryland to D.C. . I leave as soon as I send this letter to you, please find guidance. I love you both. May the Seeker watch over us.

Signed, Harold
