The world Jett Lewis knew was not too bad. He enjoyed what he was given, never expecting more. Did he want more? Yeah, who doesn't. Jett had always wanted his own fishing boat and could have bought one this past summer. He didn't because he would have been broke in the fall.
Still sort of regretting not getting a boat back then, Jett finds a spot to settle down near the river where he usually fishes. Once at his spot, he sets up. Settling into a camping chair, he casts out into the slow moving waters. "And now, we wait."
Nothing immediately bites, but that's not what fishing is about. Fishing teaches a little bit of patience. A cool breeze blows by, making Jett glad he wore his favorite sweatshirt.
A yawn escapes his mouth. I definitely need to sleep more. Between gaming and reading, sleep is at a minimum. He shakes himself a little to try to wake up more. It works for a little while. He has to recast a little later. Still nothing.
What feels like a few moments later, he hears a rustle nearby. Jett opens his eyes to an unfamiliar river. Huh, that's strange. He turns as nonchalantly as he can to see what made the noise behind him.
What he see makes him freeze. A massive feathery tail arcs lazily in the air, coming to rest next to Jett. Sky blue scales lead to a serpentine body. It has neither arms nor legs, but wings are folded on the back of the creature. A sinuous neck ends at a large head with a thin snout. Two golden eyes bore into Jett from under two large serrated horns. The scaled lips part to show sharp pointed teeth as an ethereal voice fills the air.
"Ah, you must be what fate decided to drop off today. Impressive for a mere human to make it this far, even if by chance."

Jett doesn't move a muscle, in awe of the creature before him.
The golden eyes harden. "As delightful as it is to be ogled by mortals, I would like to know how you ended up in my domain."
"Uh, I r-really d-don't know." Swallowing hard, Jett adds, "One moment I was fishing near my home, the next I opened my eyes to an unfamiliar river."
The eyes seem to soften a little. "May I ask your name?"
"Jett Lewis," he replies as fast as he can.
"Fate seems to have cast her dice in your favor today, Jett Lewis. It seems I will be the first to tell you that you are now in a new land. A land of wonders, magic, and dragons." The being starts unfurling its wings. "A land where potential is unlimited, and even the smallest may become gods!" As it finishes its sentence, the dragon unleashes a roar with its wings spread fully.
"Ding" You've heard the roar of Cassaeyin the God Dragon. You are paralyzed for 10 seconds.
Jett marvels at the beautiful wings on display while the paralyzation wears off. Feathers the color of clouds sparkle and seem to reflect an invisible rainbow.
"What will you do with this newfound opportunity, Jett Lewis? Fate may be a cruel and fickle mistress at times, but learn to take what she gives." The dragon's eyes seem to focus on a point in the distance. "From my experience, she will give many opportunities to those she deems willing, and you never know where they may lead you."
Jett stumbles to his feet when the paralyzation wears off. "A voice in my head said that you are Cassaeyin the God Dragon?"
At his question the dragon's eyes turn back to gaze upon him. "Yes, I am Cassaeyin the God Dragon." Its eyes sparkle seeing Jett go pale in the face. "I am surprised that the system still recognizes me as such. Please do not bow. It has long since passed the time when mortals bow to me."
Jett pinches himself to make sure what he's seeing isn't some fever dream. "You know, this doesn't feel real to me at all."
A smirk appears on the dragon's face. "You are not the first one to say that in my presence. Come, join me. I will teach you about this world, little fledgeling."
Cassaeyin folds his wings and turns, beckoning with his tail for Jett to follow. Jett scrambles to catch up with the slithering dragon.
