001: Rebirth

"Ah..."

Suddenly, Elon bolted upright from the hospital bed, gasping for air, drenched in sweat, eyes wide with terror.

It was horrifying.

Just moments ago, he was dressed in a suit, clutching a bouquet of eleven roses, their petals vibrant and alive. He was ready to propose to his girlfriend of two years with a diamond ring saved up for three years. He was certain she would say yes; they were a perfect match, so loving and in tune with each other – two years of unwavering affection, no reason not to join together, to build a home, a life, together.

He was lost in this happy thought when darkness suddenly descended.

Countless lightning serpents crackled and danced across the sky, massive, boundless clouds swirling with black and silver energy orbs in the chaotic winds.

A fierce gale arose, with silver snakes and black clouds covering the sky, a prelude to an apocalypse.

Just a moment ago, the sun was shining bright, and now the skies were shrouded in darkness; the weather changed too fast for Elon to comprehend, leaving him stunned.

As he stood there, dumbfounded, a black energy orb plummeted towards him.

Then, a bolt of lightning struck the orb right above his head.

It seemed to open a portal, transforming the orb into a vortex.

The extraordinary phenomenon left him petrified, incapable of any reaction.

Elon was sucked into the vortex.

"What's happening? Where am I?"

Upon waking, Elon asked in a panic, confused about the lightning and the black orb. He was indeed sucked in, but how did he end up here?

It seemed to be a lab, surrounded by numerous screens, which made Elon anxious. Was he dissected?

"God, our Asian kid's awake. Dr. Wells, Caitlin, come to surgery immediately."

Cisco picked up the walkie-talkie, calling out loudly.

Soon after, Elon saw a young Caucasian woman and a thin middle-aged man in glasses, wheeling himself in.

The woman rushed to Elon's side, shining a flashlight into his eyes, speaking rapidly in English which Elon couldn't understand, while Cisco comforted him, easing his panic.

With Cisco's reassurance, Elon's initial alarm about his surroundings began to subside.

Though Elon couldn't understand their language, it was clear this place wasn't some twisted dissection lab – at least they hadn't tied him to the bed, showing some level of morality.

"Blood pressure spiked to 190, pulse at 280... all vitals are high, way above normal."

After an initial check-up, Caitlin was surprised at Elon's robust health. Struck by lightning and ended up like a superhero? As a bioengineering expert, she was eager to study Elon further.

Just as Caitlin was about to conduct more tests, Elon stopped her.

"Does anyone speak Chinese? Tell me! Where am I now? Why am I here? How long have I been unconscious? Where is my girlfriend?"

Elon asked frantically. Logically, even if it were for treatment, it should have been in Asia, surrounded by his own people, not waking up to several foreigners. He felt uneasy, panicked.

"Oh NO! Looks like I'm not fated to be friends with our Asian buddy."

Cisco joked, as he had hoped to make an Asian friend.

Caitlin also helplessly indicated she couldn't understand.

After a brief exchange of looks,

Dr. Wells maneuvered his wheelchair closer to Elon.

"Hello, my name is Harrison Wells. You can call me Dr. Wells. What's your name?"

This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

Dr. Wells extended his right hand to Elon.

"Elon, Elon Smith."

After shaking hands, Elon also got to know Cisco and Caitlin through Dr. Wells' introduction.

Dr. Wells then began to explain slowly.

"Elon, you've been unconscious for eight months. They found you in the Central City Police Department lab."

"What! Eight months?"

Elon was startled. That was a long time.

What about his love? He was just about to propose. No, he had to rush back immediately. Eight months without him, his girlfriend must be distraught, clinging to him as she always did.

Thinking this, Elon threw off the white sheets and got up from the bed. He needed to return immediately; eight months was too long.

Lying in bed for eight months should have at least resulted in muscle relaxation, atrophy, weakness, but Elon felt his muscles were firm, powerful, even healthier than before. A light clench of his fist and he felt a burst of strength, as if he could kill a tiger with his bare hands.

This was not normal; no feeling of weakness, full of energy and strength. He looked down to discover a set of pectoral muscles and a six-pack. Impossible – he had a little belly before his coma. Could a coma have fitness benefits?

Had he been modified?

Elon's expression turned odd, recalling some unpleasant sci-fi movies.

Dr. Wells continued without paying much attention to Elon's confusion.

"The particle accelerator... then it exploded, creating a storm. Unfortunately, lightning struck both you and Barry Allen, and you were taken to the hospital. Later, due to misdiagnosis and power failures, I brought you and Barry Allen to Star Labs."

"Particle accelerator explosion!"

"Barry Allen!"

Elon's head buzzed, the events and the name were beyond belief.

He hadn't paid much attention to the names and faces in his panic, but now, looking around, he recognized everyone here, and they were familiar.

It was possible for one or two people to have the same name, but everyone having the same name, the same face, and being in Star Labs, along with the main character Barry Allen, meant he had traveled through time!

On his way to propose, he had just finished watching the new episode of the third season of Gorilla Grodd, which was on February 22, 2017.

Barry Allen, the Flash.

Could it be that the vortex had pulled him into the world of the Flash?

Before, he hadn't noticed the entire environment in his panic, but after Dr. Wells' explanation, Elon realized that there was another bed three meters away, and the person on that bed, with a respirator, was the future Flash.

He stared at Barry Allen, a surge of excitement welling up inside. Anyone who had watched the Flash couldn't help but yearn for that ultimate, thrilling speed, surpassing everything, defying physics, faster than light, even capable of running to the past, creating a new timeline.

The Speed Force.

A fifth force, independent of the four fundamental forces.

To possess such power was akin to being a deity.

The chance to wield such power was undeniably thrilling.

After a brief moment of excitement,

a wave of sadness washed over him. Coming to this supernatural world was indeed exciting, but the thought of his lover in the other world filled him with sorrow.

It wasn't just an eight-month gap; it was a gap between worlds, universes, dimensions.

He might never be able to return.
