It had been three days since I chose my facets, and I had practically mastered high-school math. One downside with comprehension though is that it helps with understanding, not memory. Meaning that I was still lacking in the more memorization related subjects, like history. Luckily I could just take the more math oriented subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and well math in the test since it is not my first time taking it so I don't need to redo everything.
Additionally one of my facets finally filled their Exp bar, or whatever the thing was. Sadly when I tried interacting wit it I got no response so I don't really know it's purpose yet. Anyways my status has changed a bit since the first time u used it. I figured out that for every three FEXP(Facet EXP) I acquire I get one AEXP(Aspect EXP) And for every three of those I get one level. I don't know what the level symbolizes but increasing it can only be good. At least I think so, from all the system related media I read though in between studying sessions the systems didn't generally pose a threat to the person using them. Then again it's real life and not a game so who knows.

I was hoping something interesting would happen when my level maxed out, maybe my aspects would be upgraded or increased. It would be cool if I could have dozens of aspects for different parts of life. Like a sports aspect and a social aspect and a work aspect! Though I probably need a cleaning aspect the most I thought as I looked around my apartment at the piles of worn T-shirts and cargo-pants strewn around.
Well I'm not there yet, I would have to max out the other two aspects I have first. But I wanted to save at least one of them till I got a job so I could "cheat" my way past the lower positions to get a higher pay.
As I started cleaning picking up all the clothes I turned on the news, I was still nervous about the fact that there was nothing even related to the system was...
"...And we interrupt todays sending for urgent news, citizens of district 5 of Ger-Tor are to evacuate the streets and lock their doors. A mass murderer is currently loose on the streets, and is being chased by the police..."
*Had to jinx it*, Luckily I live in district 6 so I should be fine. Looking at the portrait of the murderer I confirmed that it was no one i knew and i began thinking about my second aspect. Thinking about it another mental aspect similar to learning would probably be the most helpful to me, it's not like the Republic was at war so getting drafted and having to fight in general shouldn't have to be a worry.
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
Maybe I should get a health aspect, something like the age aspect and then get three synergizing facets that increase my lifespan. From the effects of the facets I already have only one of those facets should probably let me have the physicality of a teenager till my forties or let me live at least a century! That would be pretty cool.
As I was pacing in my room I saw a commotion from outside the window. Moving closer I saw that the orderly crowd that usually populates the streets of Ger-Tor were practically trampling over each other to get away. turning my head to the left to try and see what they were running from I felt my intuition tell me to back up. Ignoring it in my curiosity I opened my window to see better.
As I stuck my head out to look the left I thanked whoever decided to put me on a third floor Basic Unit. Coming around the corner of Delton street and James street was a demon. At that was what it looked like. It had a humanoid form but the similarities humans ended there, with dark purple skin with white veins that seemed to slither along its skin, the fingers were several times their natural length, their arms were long enough to drag along the ground, it was walking on it's toes with its feet with it's sole bent forwards like a goats. Each of it's eye sockets seemed to be made of overlapping eyeballs that would squeeze and bend to a rhythm only they understood as they looked in random directions.
As it turned the corner and continued walking towards the fleeing crowd of people I saw it stop by a old man who had fallen over while trying to run away. It opened it's wide lips revealing a mouth with hundreds of shifting uneven needle-like teeth, and spat some goop at the man. Watching in horror as the sludge slowly entered the old man as he screamed in pain I backed away from the window. The last thing I saw before I closed the window was how another demon stood up, identical in appearance to the first.
*I had to jinx it*, as I started shoving my furniture against the window and door on the slim chance it heads this way. The window was too high up for most of the stuff so I leaned my bed against it. And then i sat there, in the middle of the room with a kitchen knife in one hand and my phone in the other.
Quickly opening the BaseCare app I connected my screen to the security cameras outside the building as I continued watching the demons. There were four of them now, and one of them was nearing another trampled person. I watched on as another person turned into a demon. that is when the police showed up.
Four police cars stopped at the end of Delton street, three patrol cars and one van, and before they had even stopped I saw the police start shooting at the demons. The demons turned towards them in an unnaturally synched motion. Then one of them got hit, the demon closest to the police sprayed white blood as it crumpled to the ground.
The other demons froze for a second before they began sprinting at the police, I saw two more get hit and fall down on the way, spraying the ground white with their blood. But the fourth one reached the first police car and tried to climb over before it got shot. Falling down to join it's siblings.
Looking at the gashes in the car where the demon died I think back to when I decided to ignore my Intuition Facet to sate my curiosity. Next time Intuition tells me not to look I'm gonna fucking run in the other direction.

When more police started arriving at the scene and I started to feel safe again I returned all my furniture to their original positions and mopped up the remains of a glass I had broken in my rush. It was not until a few hours after the incident that I recalled, I couldn't hear them, I had forgotten about it in the heat of the moment but now that I thought back they didn't make any noise. Not when they walked or when they spat their goop or even when their corpses hit the ground. Nothing.
