The girl she broke--the whalebone
A talisman---an old heirloom,
The people chase her out of her home
Then a snowstorm hit the coast
Sa--cri--legious girl
The people left her in icebergs
Freeze to death alone,
A cruel end----she had earned.
“A gift to the sea,” the villagers said.
“Stop the search; we are going back.
It would be better if she were dead.
Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.
So the gods won’t stay being mad.”
Cold and lost in fear,
Frostbite took her fingers and ears.
No one to give answer
Is that what she deserved?

La-da-da-da-la-da-da-da
La-la-la-la-la-la-la
Da-da-da-da-da
Down in the freezing ocean, she fell
Was she dead? She could not tell,
She failed to recall any details
Only heard a whale.
“Cou-ra-geous girl
Strong enough to break my bone
Challenged the storm alone
Sleep now; you’ll be home.
The gods weren’t the ones to cause the storm
People were ashamed, now that she had returned
With the power, she had earned
She let the old shrines burn
“You left me to die,
This is a warning and payback.
The whale god is by my side.
The village is mine by right.”
