Prologue:

Date 1782

From the Desk of Joseph Lowery

Salutations Mr. Hamilton,

Due to my research, I do not believe they have found the item. My intelligence states that no such soldier has shown up on either side or battlefield yet. I have spoken with Mr. Franklin in confidence he agrees this must stay as quiet as possible. This goes as deep as the start of time itself and power within the wrong hands would be catastrophic. Speaking at our last meeting we all in agreement once found if the legends are even true, we find the root of the power and destroy it. No one man or even nation can hold on to this power even if it means winning the war.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

In my journeys across the Americas before the war I have heard talk amongst the Natives about the same items we have been searching for along with the same person. I can only speculate that this could be tales of the early Nomads that settled early in the north from Norse descent. However again this is an educated guess. There have been confirmed raids of several monasteries and many holy missing items due to Viking raids during the 1100s what has become of them only God knows. It could be plausible that a few could have made their voyage to the new world as trade goods

In some of the tribes I have personally seen members with blue and green eyes, judging from the old Norse stories that have almost died out and the similarities of their heathen gods as well as the Natives beliefs at least one of the items we could be looking for may be here.

As mortals we shall not question the gifts that God has given us however, we have to be better than those who have come before us. We have to be better men. I will continue with my research this affects us all. My brother is right now in departing Italy going to Egypt to the city of Alexandria and letters from the old world of course will be fewer and farther between. We are gathering as much as we can before the next meeting which he hopes to be in attendance. He will also be gathering more clues as to if we are again indeed looking at “ghost stories” as General Washington has elected to call our endeavor or we are indeed looking for mankind’s salvation.

Regards,

Joseph Lowery
