‘What the hell is this?’ I thought.
I tried to poke the floating blue window, but my tentacle went right through it. Then it disappeared. Leaving me wondering what RPG I got pulled into. Maybe this has something to do with that device that lady put on me. She said something about it monitoring my growth or something. I guess this is what she meant by that.
I’m not proud of it but I spent the next half hour trying to find out how to open my status. Eventually I gave up and moved on. The wolf had dragged me through some thick forest before I had killed it. Thankfully because I was being dragged there was a clear trail leading me back to where I was found. I wanted to make sure I knew where I came out of….whatever the hell I fell into before I leave the area.
I wasn’t too far away from where the wolf found me. The tracks stopped about half a mile away. There was nothing really notable around the area. I kept looking around for something, Anything out of the ordinary. All I found was a stone platform with a tree growing in the middle of it. The only thing unusual about it was the large hole in the middle of the tree. It was a perfect oval, but it didn’t look like it was cut this way. It looked like it naturally grew like this. I walked onto the stone platform to get a closer look but the ring started heating up. I backed away and it cooled down.
‘I guess I know how I got here then.’
I made sure to remember where this place is. Marking it and any nearby landmarks in my memory so that I can find this place later. The sun is pretty high up and there are no trails leading from here other than the trail the wolf made when dragging me. So I guess finding shelter and water were my first move.
Before I leave though I want to test my shapeshifting ability first. After coming here I seem to be a lot bigger. About the size of a large dog.
So, I tried changing into a large variety of animals. But no matter what I couldn’t seem to get it right. I changed into a cat, but I couldn’t get the head right and the tail wouldn’t move properly. I tried a squirrel because they are fast, but it just got confusing as I ended up looking more like a flat skunk. I was about to give up but I remembered that weird blue box. It said something about transformation assistance?

I tried bringing up some sort of menu again, but I still couldn’t figure it out. So I just changed into a wolf. As I shifted I could feel some thing messing up again. But as soon as I noticed the feeling of something forming wrong it corrected itself. There was a weird warmth in my core that seemed to emit a pulse of warmth during my transformation. When I was complete, I stretched one of my eyes out to get a good view of myself.
I looked exactly like that wolf I killed. Perfectly wolf shaped in everyway I could tell. I retracted the eye and moved around in my new shape. Somehow I just instinctually knew how to move it. It felt….natural.
Like I had done this a couple times before or had been watching wolves move around for a while. I ran through the forest, leaping over low branches and speeding through clearings.
It was exilirating, this feeling of freedom. Of course this feeling brought on a feeling of curiousity. If it feels this good to be a wolf, I wonder how it feels to be other creatures.

A couple Hours ago…
A young fawn was drinking from a lake. A lake it had drunk from hundreds of times before and would drink from hundreds of more times in the future. A branch cracked in the distance, startling the fawn. It stood still and looked for danger. Moments passed by in silence before it picked up a sound in the distance. A loud and deep rumble that ended in a piercing whistle. The fawn was scared, It had never heard sounds like this before. It sped off towards its family as fast as It could. He never strayed too far from them. Hopping through the forest he tried to run from the whistling as fast as he could. Passing trees and hopping over bushes the little fawn didn’t even notice that he had run over a soft pink thing. He looked back just in time to see the pink thing try and get up. Just to get hit in the head by whatever was making that whistling sound.
The young fawn was happy that the sound stopped but was still a little scared. He was also very curious and wanted to know if the pink thing was still alive. He cautiously approached and sniffed the air. It smelled funny, the pink thing smelled like dirt, blood and bile. But it also had a different smell to it. A smell the fawn didn’t recognize. He got closer and saw what had hit the pink thing.
There was a large glowing blue rock sticking out of the pink thing’s head.
‘Poor pink thing’ the fawn thought to himself.
He felt bad for it, but then it twitched, and he was gone. As soon as it moved, he ran away as fast as he could. He would report it to his parents and vowed never to go far away from them again.
