From as far back as I could remember I could memorize anything perfectly at a single glance. This so called eidetic memory is something everyone wished they had to be able to deal with all those annoying tests. I must have had a fantastic life right? Wrong! Frankly, people find it creepy if you can recite a textbook perfectly without even looking at the book, honestly I would to. Absolutely everyone kept their distance from me, even my parents. Of course they wouldn’t want to hang with somebody that could remember every little thing that they did.

Eventually I just gave up, since then I’ve only ever gone to school just for tests. Sure there was homework that needed to be done but meh, getting a 100% on every test gave me barely enough to pass. My parents don’t even care about me, well scratch that. They care a little since they gave me just enough monthly allowance for food and to live in this small little apartment of mine that's as far away from them as possible.

However there was only so much I could do and didn't want to do. Being able to do most tasks with ease and just absolutely refusing to do anything physical I became quite lazy. Without having to go to school as well I had the time to do anything. That’s when I found it, the glory of Japan! Ah manga, anime, light novels, my life was filled to the brim of it, and that’s just how I liked it. These stories of faraway lands filled with people with magical powers really piqued my interest. Maybe if I lived in a world like that I would at least have somebody to talk to. I was just like every other otaku, wishing to be whimsically taken to another world.

Man, if I knew that wishes could come true that easily, I would have wished for money, women… maybe both. Instead, I got put in a place I didn’t belong.
