Prologue: Sacrifice

Running fast wherever his legs can lead him, the only thing in his mind is the only words-- It hurts...

It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts, It hurts...

Endlessly, it was the only word his mind kept on telling him. Clutching to his stomach, the sharp object still prickling his insides is slowly giving him discomfort.

He wanted everything to stop, right there. All his life, he was very unfortunate.

He leaned on a thick tree, hiding his figure completely. Slumping to the ground without any sound, he started thinking where it started, when did everything started?

Looking above him, the sky was clear-- full of stars, surprised to his own sight to comprehend such view. Wincing as the cold air started to dance around him, he was again reminded of his life.

He was just a young man, just like any other person in society-- living just to survive. Doing everything what he can do, to achieve the success he want! Yet... there he was, waiting... waiting under the huge tree. Hoping the people after him would lost his tracks, or its the other way around, just for his body to start getting colder by the minute.

The growing heat rising around the corners of his eyes, the tears starts rolling down his face. He could not helped it, he just had enough. The fake laughs, fake personality, fake perseverance, fake emotions, fake gestures, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, fake-

He was fake.

A false pretense just to keep on moving forward.

Clenching his teeth, he stopped his laughter from irrupting at the moment but his eyes spoke the opposite. He was pathetic. He was born in this world just to feel pain, no matter how much he tried changing his fate, it was just leading him to where he is now.

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Grabbing the handle of the knife, he drove it deeper inside. The small sound of flesh getting twisted, as he find amusement of his doing.

He already knew how life would end, death would come to him, but the process of it was... something he can not accept. His shoulders shake at the realization of him being picky of his end.

Leaning his head to the hard surface, he looked up to the sky again.

"----"

The stars were no longer there, it was nothing. Maybe his time was coming faster... No-- it wasnt just 'nothing' there was something else, it was darkness. Darkness was staring back to him. Or is his vision have left already? Blinking rapidly like how fast he would wipe the floors of the mansion, he hoped it would clear the vision of his eyes. Raising his free hand, he can visibly see the blood stain.

Widening his eyes, he could not believe how clear the darkness was to him.

"W-who are y-you...?"

Weakly, he voiced out.

"----"

The silence made it worse, for who knows what it was, hoping its something can be dealt with words.

"You are the first person to ever set foot in my garden."

'Garden...?' The word repeated inside his head. How could a forest be a garden?

"w-who?"

Questions, of course are the things that could pop out in this situation. Surely the deep like loud waves coming from the 'thing' in front of him was its voice.

"I'm highly empressed, for someone would be able to find it."

Still it was not the answer he was asking for. Inspecting the view carefully and making sure it was not his mind playing tricks of telling him he was crazy.

"State what you desire or recieve the consequences."

After stating the last word, a sudden red light busted out of nowhere and gave brightness to the surroundings. It was infact the forest, the green leaves, colorful flowers, the trunk, and being basked of the warmth that he hates the most.

This time, he released the lingering emotions he have been suppressing, he laughed. Slowly reaching the volume that could strain his vocal cords and his insides giving up on him, he doesn't care anymore, after all he is about to turn the knob to the other side.

"Consequenses?" After letting out his maniacal laughter, he repeated the word.

What is there to ask when he is already facing the consequences. Thinking deeply, he never thought about it much, but realizing his 'wants'

"I-I w-want--" swallowing a saliva to his strained throat, hoping his voice could deliver the words.

"Sincerety, love, justice, honesty, pain, injustice, bravery, happiness, ...,"

His voice changing volumes as he kept going on and on, like it was a list, without even realizing repeating some of the words. He never realized how he wanted much. Gasping and relief returning.

"...is that all?"

"No" looking directly to the red light before him, hoping it was the creatures' eyes.

"Give me everything,"

"That is not--" before it could finish the sentences.

"I want everything to be destroyed."
