Brief update / Rewrite

Hi all!

I know it's been a while since my last chapter, which is a huge understatement considering my last update was on 22/5/2021. Two years. That's barely registering on my mind as I write this.

The title already gives away what this is about. I don't want this write up to just be justifications, rather actions and decisions. I strongly believe the quality of this fiction went down as I tried to push for the finish line of the Writathon, and while everything made sense in my head, there were several gaps, details, and just plain development that were not up to my standards.

I do not want to continue it in this state, as I don't think it honors the potential it really has. I also don't think it's a matter of editing the existing chapters. That would only confuse the existing readers (if there's any after two years), while introducing unnecessary friction for anyone who would like to pick it up. As such, I will rewrite starting around chapter 9, with some edits as early as the prologue and chapter 1.

If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

While I would love to give timelines, I have to be honest. 22/5/2021 meant lots of things to me: moving countries, finishing a phd, getting married, finding a job, and many more of those mundane things that you never account for, but that end up dragging you. I will aim for 1 chapter per week until I reach the equivalent of today's chapter 29.

To avoid any confusion, I will create a new novel with this same name, and this fiction will be renamed to make clear it's the old version.

No excuses on my part, just sincere apologies to everyone who was reading it and enjoying the story. I have been writing during these two years, but I couldn't bring myself to reboot this novel. Call it indecision or just not wanting to start from scratch with it, but I ended up writing some other genres and stories.

Those will see the light, perhaps in parallel, perhaps later. Don't be surprised if/when they come up.
