Caravan Launch Day

Arilee was loading the last of the group's gear onto the wagon they were sharing with another group when a round of horns came from the front of the caravan.

Tallus poked his head out from his tent. "Oh no we're late! Scramble everyone!" The litte gnome half fell out of the tent rushing himself. He stopped when he saw everything was mostly packed and he and Rorick were the last ones up."

"Oh. Hmm," he said clearing his throat.

"It's okay Tallus, I woke up early this morning to get things ready." Arilee said smilingly, standing in a way to try to show off she was wearing a new outfit.

Arilee watched Tallus do a double take at finally seeing her in her new leather gear. Tallus whistled.

"Look at you. That's fresh looking gear you have there. From the hunt yesterday?"

"You got it!" she replied.

Chip laughed, "Arilee is going to be making us all look bad."

"Maybe just you Chip." Leela said laughing, walking out from inside her tent with her gear packed. She was wearing a new outfit too. A bright green priestess robe.

"Where'd you get that, Leela?" Arilee exclaimed.

"The Head Priestess let me have it. She thought my old ones were too dirty to keep wearing. I like it. It feels so nice to have clean clothes on."

Everyone in the group laughed and mingled in the morning. All but Slicks. It took Arilee some time to notice that his mood was off, but once she did, she asked.

"Is everything alright Slicks? You've been quiet. Are you still upset about the other day?"

Slicks tongue flicked at the air. "Ssssomething feelsss wrong. Itsss hard to tell with all the rest of the caravan around. Were you followed from the Tomb? Did you notice anything strange?"

Worry began to sink in for Arilee. She was so caught up with the business with the Dwarf Ghost and Rorick, she was not looking for illusions.

"No, I don't think we were. I'm -" Arilee paused. "I'm not sure."

Slicks hissed. "We should be careful."

Arilee felt bad. She felt bad they left Slicks behind on the Tomb run. His tongue would have sensed any foul taste in the air. She also felt she might have endangered the Caravan after all that talk to the Elder.

She hope didn't make a mistake.
