After the third day it was settled, I’m stuck on this game, with most of the features disabled. I can only access four screens, the status, the skills, the inventory, and the party screen. Aside from the remaining features, my stronger physique, and being in the game, everything seems real.
The people in this house are obviously not players, but they act like real people so they’re not mere npc either.
Right now I’m eating with the Morton family, who let me stay in their house for free. On the middle of the living room, seated around a wooden table was a man, his sister, his mother, and I who was wearing one of the dresses of miss Lenia Morton, the man’s mother.
In front of me is a soup and bread, which was the same with what the others were eating. I ate by using a spoon for the soup, which I blew once to lessen the heat before I put it in my mouth. After the bitter yet delicious soup, I ate the bread presented to me.
“Thank you for the meal” I said while bowing to the Morton family.
Miss Lenia slightly opened her mouth, which she then covered with her hand. “There’s no need to bow.” She then looked at her children. “Right you two?”
While the two were looking at me and nodding repeatedly, I said. “It’s only proper to thank my benefactor.”
After a small chuckle. Miss Lenia said. “You’re too polite.”
After helping them clean the table, I went back to the room given to me.
I have decided yesterday that I should act properly while I still don’t know the whole situation, to avoid getting into bad situations. I still haven’t forgotten what happened on the first day, heck, I would be a cold blooded murderer if I did.
I still feel cold whenever I remember that, but I need to get over it, or I will get buried in negative emotions as I wander in this world.
Ah, forgot to mention, I was able to move on a little when Kain, the man who helped me, comforted me yesterday. I didn’t leave the room and stayed curled up in the corner, so he barged in and tried to soothe me.
The villagers saw the corpses of the mobs I killed, which they called animals. He said it’s not that big of a deal to kill animals. Hunters of the village kill animals on a daily basis for food, so he said the only thing I should be worried about is that I wasted the animal’s body, since it’s too messed up to eat.
Of course it wasn’t easy, even if what he said is true, it still doesn’t bode well with me that I killed. He came to my room from time to time to comfort me, and by the end of the day, he managed to calm me down a bit.
Thinking about it, although it’s less brutal, doesn’t the meat that I eat on the real world also come from animals? They’re just animal, just animals, so it should be ok right? None would blame me right? They were the one who started it after all. If they just ignored me, then I wouldn’t have to kill them. No! Isn’t it unnecessary to kill life that can’t hurt me?
“Big sis, let’s play!” Said the girl who suddenly barged to my room.
Her names Kia Morton, Kain’s little sister. She would always barge in to my room without saying anything, but since she’s the daughter of this house’ owner, and the sister of the man who helped me, I didn’t say anything. I don’t dislike her anyways, and her positive personality probably helped me stabilize my emotions.
As it is now, I could fully recover in a few days, but I don’t think I’m ready to kill another life. Well, in this world I might run in to problems, such as having human enemies, but I could deal with them by beating them half to death. That doesn’t count as killing right?
Ok, enough of that. Sitting beside me was a girl with brown hair tied up in a twin tail. She was hugging my arm with her white, slim arms and was looking at me with her blue eyes. “So what do we play?”
Looking at her petite build, I said. “Do we really have to?”
“Yes, my brother said that we should play.”
He said that? Why? Talking about her brother, Kain Morton has been working for their family ever since their father died. He’s a well known sculptor in the village, and the sculptures in this room are his creations. Just like her sister and mother, he has brown hair and blue eyes, although he’s different when it comes to skin color.
Since he is the one cutting the wood for his own sculptures, he is always bathed under the sun, making his skin turn dark. Also, his body naturally got bigger from his work. He’s the serious type, he doesn’t beat around the bush when talking, and I guess that helped me believe in his words.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
“Big sis? Are you listening?”
Ah, I got side-tracked “Yes, of course.”
“Then what do we play?” She said while playing with my ears.
I didn’t go out for three days, and since she’s the relative of my benefactors, playing with her outside is like hitting two birds with one stone. “Then let’s go out and play ‘Tag’.”
She tilted her head to the side and asked. “Tag?”
She doesn’t know? Well, it’s a different world after all. “It’s where player has to catch at least one person. If the player manages to catch a person, their roles are reversed. The one caught will then have to catch the others.”
With sparkling eyes and fidgeting body, she said. “Let’s go outside!” She then grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the house, of course after asking her mother’s permission.
So now we’re here, me, Kia, and miss Lenia who wanted to join. Outside was not the village but a forest. The village which I saw before was far away from the house of the Morton family, but it’s still visible.
All of us wore the same white shirt and brown skirt that extended down to our knees, so there won’t be problems in running. After telling the game’s rules, we started, with miss Lenia being the ‘It’. She ran to who ever was the closest, which was me. I adjusted my speed to make it look like she’ll catch me, even though she really can’t.
By the way, my strength and speed are too high. I had to adjust my grip just to hold things without breaking them. What did I used to practice? The bread of course, since even if I crush it, it’s still edible. Where did I practice adjusting my speed? Inside the room when I ran around in circles because of stress. It’s kinda easy since I knew how to control my body due to practicing martial arts.
Now that I mention it, at the age of twelve I was a purple belt in karate and a blue belt in jujitsu. It’s a lie? I have you know that it didn’t come from a mcdojo but a distinguished school that’s known to produce world class martial artist. It’s ok to brag about it right? Or am I just average?
I continued to act like they can catch me, but in the end, the two of them had to run after each other. Well, at least they enjoyed it right?
When the game ended, the two were all sweaty and were breathing heavily, while I looked clean, except for the few dirt on my clothes.
Seeing that made miss Lenia ask. “How are you still fine after all that running?”
“Because I’m an elf?” Should I say because my character is overpowered?
“So elves have high stamina?” She said while thinking seriously.
Kia then walked to the middle and called our attention. “Let’s take a bath!”
After getting spare clothes from their home, we went to a near by river. Since there wasn’t any soap or shampoo, I had to rub my body while in the river. The water reached up to my waist, and just like any river, it had clean running water. Luckily, we didn’t run into aggressive animals on the way here.
While washing her body, miss Lenia asked. “So Lucia, how many men fell in love with you?”
*cough**cough* W-why the sudden love talk? “I think none.”
With a wide grin she said. “Stop being humble and tell me, ten? A hundred? A thousand? Don’t tell me you came to the human territory to look for more men?”
“NO!” I said with my arms stretched downwards and my body leaned forward.
Due to my yell, Kia who was happily swimming on the river stood up and looked at us. She then joined the conversation, which turned into both of them teasing me about love.
“Look at that, three beautiful ladies.” I heard behind me.
The three of us looked and on the shore, opposite of where we placed our clothes, were a group of rugged looking men with matching bandanas, about twenty or more.
Judging from their expressions, they had a malicious intent. After seeing their lustful eyes, we crouched in the river and covered our private parts.
One of the men noticed my ears and pointed at me. “Boss, look at that, there’s an elf.”
All men turned their eyes on me. “Hoho, quite a big catch today.”
In a low voice I said. “Eh?”
