POV:Unknown
The sorceress is thinking about what lies ahead as she travels home by horseback. There is a part of her that is anxious to see family. Somehow, there is always something that goes awry whenever she has the chance to visit. She shakes her head in disbelief at what happened previously. Last time her younger brother, Erevan, was caught stealing from the noble family in the region.
She offered services for free just to get him out of trouble like the good sister she is. She made sure he got the bare minimum when it came to his punishment. Even if she truly wanted to leave him in the mess that he made himself. There are only so many times she can come to his rescue before he takes it too far one day.
She had whipped up a month's worth of teas, and made some aphrodisiac tonics for the Lord of Astralon. He almost cleared out all of her inventory that was supposed to last for a few weeks. Just to make sure that it was worth letting her brother go.
The sorceress does understand that her brother is young, but he needs to learn his lesson already. She is tired of bailing him out. Frequently, she takes time to pray that he learns his lesson sooner rather than later. She will literally lock him in a prison world herself the next time he messes up.
She does pray that the visit this time around is easy going. Mother has her hands full with the four children that live with her, so she tries to help out however she is able to at the moment. Truthfully, a part of her is jealous of the younger siblings. She envies the fact they have a chance to grow up in a home with both parental figures.
Her biological father was never a part of the picture growing up. Her mother met her husband that she is married to now after she was old enough to be on her own. He makes her mother happy, and takes care of the family. Meaning, she has absolutely nothing bad to say about him.
Her mother has never said anything about the biological father. It is a sore subject. She sadly understands that it makes her mother uncomfortable when asking about the male that helped create her. Her soft, bright blue eyes that usually shine with happiness will darken instantly if she brought up her father.
Eventually, she made the decision to quit asking about him as she started getting older. As she digs through her mother’s closet looking for a piece of jewelry one day, she comes across a small brown wooden chest. It immediately catches her eye. Strong curiosity gets the better part of her, and she can’t stop herself from digging through it.
A piece of her dies, and comes alive with the discovery she makes from what is hiding inside the box. She wishes that the vital piece of information she finds can be undiscovered. Sadly, life doesn’t happen that way, and neither does her magic.
Inside of the wooden box is where she finds corresponding letters between her mother and another man. She takes it upon herself to read through the letters. What is written inside is where she ends up discovering the true identity of the man who is her biological father.
This revelation is the last thing she expected to find. Both of her fist clenches in anger, and her eyes begin to swell with tears. She always fantasized about finding out who her father is. She just didn’t expect to find out this way.
She is absolutely feeling betrayed on so many levels by her mother. Even more so by the man who helped create her. She always assumed he was dead, but to find out he is very much alive. That is unbelievably cruel in her mind. How could he abandon them?
Her memories of her family are cut short when her white stallion, Nimroc, swats a giant insect off his point of croup with his tail. His hair is long on his tail, so it hits her as he gets rid of the creature. This snaps her out of her thoughts, and she takes notice of her surroundings.
They are finally about to arrive within the walls of Edellhond after eleven days of traveling . They just need to make it to the other side of this giant ridge. Thankfully, this is the last stretch before they make it home.
Somehow, the journey back home seems to always feel as if it takes longer. Probably due to the fact, they are looking forward to coming home. It has been a long period since the last time they were surrounded by family.
The smell of salt from the sea fills her nostrils, and there is a slight breeze pushing itself around her. It is causing her dark brown hair to wrap around her face, and she can’t help but to smile from the familiar feeling. The feeling of being home.

She has definitely missed home, and Nimroc seems to be on the same page. He perks his ears up, and adds some pep into his step.
Little does she know that he is trying to hurry down to the village for another reason.
The surrounding walls of Edellhond are visible when they reach the top of the ridge, and everything is in flames. She reacts instinctively by kicking Nimroc’s sides to get him running towards the disaster.
All she can think at the moment is get all of her family out to safety.
They are running as fast as he can go, and it seems that it is still not quick enough. How did this even happen? She is watching everything burn at the rate they are running..
Her heart is racing right along with Nimrocs, but it is not due to cardio. Fear is the trigger. Tears are filling her green eyes, and once they break the surface there is no stopping them from pouring.
The thickness of smoke is worse with each step Nimroc takes towards the village. There is an extreme amount of ash in front of them when they finally reach the large stone gate entrance. It is all from the things that have already completely burned down.
Ash is falling down from the sky, and it’s slowly beginning to collect in her hair. Somehow, she is able to navigate their way towards the family home. Loudly, she begins yelling out towards anyone that can hear.
She is yelling at the top of her lungs for her mom, brothers, and their father, “Mom! Sanev! Caelum! Erevan! Varin! Anyone?”
She is absolutely frantic at this point, and she is sure that it sounds like gibberish words coming out of her mouth.
She keeps yelling out their names in hope someone will hear her. Luckily, her home is becoming closer with each step they take. She is slowly losing hope with every building they pass. The surrounding buildings are engulfed in flames.
If there is a higher power listening to her then she prays that her family made it out safely.
She hears screams, and then takes notice of other elves wandering around. They look like they’re on fire, but it isn’t hurting them. She is not familiar with them, and they’re pillaging through the streets. Somehow, they are not burning. How is that even possible?
Her thoughts are interrupted when they arrive at her childhood home. It is completely engulfed in flames, and she begins yelling out their names again.
Calling out in the midst of crying, “Mom! Varin! Sanev! Caelum! Erevan!”
Not a single soul answers her cries, and she is frozen in a single spot staring at her childhood home burn with Nimroc.
Her quiet cries turn into loud wails at this point.
“Please someone answer!” Her voice comes out cracked with the amount of tears shed.
There is a sudden loud creaking sound from the wood starting to split. Meaning, the house is going to collapse at any minute. Nimroc understands that is dangerous, so he begins to instantly gallop full speed away from the house. He knows to bring them to safety.
Everything is a blur as he gallops away. It doesn’t register to her right away that they are leaving the village. It takes a while before she comes to the realization. When she does finally look back, it is when they are a safe distance away.
She sits in the saddle to watch as her family home crumbles on top of itself. How heartbreaking it is to see everything burn to a crisp. She does not pay any attention to where Nimroc is leading her. Although, she absolutely trusts his instincts as an animal looking for safety.
At the moment, all she can seem to feel is numb from being completely overwhelmed with emotion. Most likely due to shock, and she hasn’t processed what she has witnessed. Her body is completely covered in soot and ash by the time they are able to get a safe distance away. Nimroc is breathing heavily, and she frantically begins wailing in despair.
This was not the image she had in mind when arriving home. Why is everything gone? Where did everyone disappear to? Why is there not a single survivor in sight? She believes that she should have been here to help her family.
All of these random scenarios come full force in her mind when they finally reach a safe place to take a moment of rest. She dismounts out of the saddle to find her bearings on solid ground. As soon as she hits the ground, everything that she had eaten from the day comes out of her mouth, and it all lands in a puddle on the ground. She finishes puking her guts out a few moments later.
After the sorceress is able to finally calm herself down enough to think clearly, there is a sudden idea that pops into her mind. Maybe her family did have a chance of making it out, and they might be on the road.
If anything, her mother would travel towards the kingdom of Eldoria out to seek safety for the children. She may even consider a chance of retribution for the village. There is only one person powerful enough to promote that. The king. The decision she makes right away is to travel in that direction.
Now, she must head towards the kingdom. Hopefully he will have heard about this atrocity. He has the power, and can seek action against those who did this. At this point in time, this makes the most sense. After all, it is her only hope to find her family.
The Kingdom of Eldoria is ruled by King Turgon. Her mother mentioned him before, and apparently he is a wise king. The emotional sorceress hopes that he will help out with this horrendous situation, and make a decision to do something about the fall of Edellhond. She bows her head and says a prayer. She prays to the goddess Corellon Larethian that her family made it out alive, but somehow she knows that is a false dream.
She looks off into the distance to watch the flames burn her home into ash. The happiness and light that she normally carries around inside has diminished into something else entirely. All that she has left inside is anger, despair, and a need for answers. Nothing else matters at the moment. Until then, she kicks the sides of Nimroc to motion him into a gallop. Now, she begins a life altering journey
