Chapter 6: The First Shopping Spree

After collecting all the rusted weaponry and various valuables scattered throughout the mansion, I decided it was time to utilize the "Exchange" function of the system. The haul was modest—yielding only about 10 points—but combined with the 15 points I had previously accumulated, my total reached 25. It wasn’t a fortune, but it was a start.

Summoning my resolve, I ventured into the room adjacent to where the colossal dragon bones rested—the remains of the Inferior Earth Dragon, Buzzwolt. The sight of the dragon’s skeletal remains still sent shivers down my spine, but I had to seize the opportunity. Methodically, I sold most of the bones, retaining only the wings, two claws, and a large tooth. To my surprise, this yielded a substantial 356 points. The more intact and functional bones proved to be highly valuable. Among the bones, I discovered a large crystal, which I decided to keep for now; it looked precious and might hold potential.

With a considerable amount of points now at my disposal, I made my first significant purchase: a storage space. I acquired a 5x5 meter storage unit for 100 points, which would prove immensely useful. Additional cubic meters of storage would cost 20 points each, but this initial purchase was sufficient for my needs. I then bought the “System Assistance” feature for another 100 points. This ability would allow me to inquire about items and receive guidance akin to consulting a merchant. It would assist in evaluating the worth of items, understanding synthesis options, and determining if I needed additional resources or points.

This left me with 181 points. I wanted to enhance my ability to analyze the items I encountered, so I turned to the System Assistance for recommendations. It offered three options:

1. Appraisal: A thorough ability that provided detailed information on all items and individuals I encountered. It cost 250 points—a significant investment.

2. Item Details: This ability offered comprehensive information on all items for 100 points. It was a solid choice but still a considerable expenditure.

3. Appraisal (Basic): This entry-level option, costing 50 points, provided details on items sold to the system and those acquired or synthesized through it. It could be upgraded to the full Appraisal ability later.

If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

Given my current situation, the third option seemed the most practical. After a brief deliberation, I purchased Appraisal (Basic) for 50 points.

Next, I used the "Synthesize" option to craft something from the dragon's tooth. The system indicated that creating a decent item would require at least 150 points due to the material’s quality. I added one of the claws to reduce the cost to 130 points. Ultimately, I decided to craft a sword approximately 50 centimeters long using both claws. This cost 80 points. The resulting weapon was jagged and blunt, but it would be effective against beasts. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a start..My remaining points were now down to 51.

I decided to use the appraisal skill on the sword.

Sword Description:

The sword, forged from the dragon’s claws and tooth, is 50 centimeters long with a jagged, blunt blade. The dark, rough edge and leather-wrapped grip make it ideal for close combat.

Origin:

Crafted from the remains of the Inferior Earth Dragon, Buzzwolt, this weapon carries the essence of its monstrous origin.

Suitability:

Best for close-quarters combat, particularly against armored foes. Its rugged design excels in powerful, sweeping strikes.

Advantages:

* High Damage: Jagged edges cause deep wounds.

* Durable: Tough dragon materials resist wear.

* Armor-Breaking: Effective against heavy armor.

Flaws:

* Blunt Edge: Less effective for precise cuts.

* Uncomfortable Grip: Can cause hand fatigue.

* Short Reach: Limited compared to longer weapons.

As a gnawing hunger reminded me of my neglected need for food, I requested the system to recommend some options. It presented three choices:

1. Shadow Goat Stew - 8 points: A hearty stew made from a mysterious goat, known for its rich flavor and substantial nourishment.

2. Chicken Stir Fry - 11 points: A comforting dish that provided balanced nutrition and great taste.

3. Water Bull Roast - 15 points: A savory roast beef dish renowned for its heartiness and satisfaction.

I opted for the Chicken Stir Fry for 11 points, as it was the only familiar option and I wasn’t ready to try something entirely new. With this choice, my points dropped to 40. Despite the expenditure, I felt both physically and mentally replenished as I reviewed the day’s events.

For now, it was time to rest and brace myself for the challenges this new world had in store.
