Taryn, the son of a seerees, is mostly content with his lot. For generations, his family has made a living selling their mystic arts. He just wishes he didn't feel like a fraud. Even his mother would admit most of her predictions were nothing more than educated guesses and lucky breaks, assuming of course you managed to get a straight answer out of her. But when it really matters, the magic was real.  On the way to an evening on the town with his teammates, he happened across a display of artifacts unearthed at a local archaeological dig being conducted by a university professor. Exactly as his eyes landed on a rusty piece of metal, a bolt of lightening strikes the bell tower and a voice calls to him from the thunder.  Needing answers, Taryn signs up as a laborer on the dig site and soon discovers a threat that could end the world as we know it. scrambling to put together the puzzle from the past to save the future of modern civilization, Taryn uses his newly awakened gift, talking to the dead, to delay the next Ragnarok
