“huh,” says the dungeon core when he sees the scene, completely flabbergasted
“hey, whats the meaning of this” Dylan asks angrily
“I don’t know, I teleported the iron cases and within them their bodies, they should be there, why don’t you try melting the other two cases which hold the sword and bow/arrows,” says the dungeon core
Dylan immediately complies, he walks over to the two smaller iron cases and places his hand on them, causing an exact repeat of events except for the fact that the sword and bow were there, the arrows, however, had turned into plain sticks as the metal arrowheads had melted and merged with the steel that was covering them
“hm, how peculiar, I wonder why exactly the sword is alright,” says the dungeon core
“That’s what you’re wondering about, my parent's bodies are missing and you’re wondering about a sword!” he yells
“well, isn’t it strange, isn’t that sword regular iron or steel, why is it completely fine when every single other piece of iron in the area of your skill melted,” says the dungeon core, surprising Dylan
“I guess that is strange, but what’s important right now is the fact that MY PARENTS ARE GONE,” he says straining the last four words
“well, as I said I don’t know what happened, anyway, we’ll have to wait to figure that one out as we’ve got some bigger problems to handle right now,” the dungeon core says dodging the question
“bigger problems,” Dylan says in an angry tone
“yes, I was explaining the basics to you right now but I didn’t mention a slight problem,” says the dungeon core
“slight problem, what problem,” he asks still with an angry tone
“well, we’re in the middle of a mountain,” says the dungeon core, surprising Dylan
“we’re in the middle of a what,” asks Dylan
“well you remember how I said I was a pure mana type dungeon, well i was formed by the deep veins of mana and mana ore in this mountain, as such were currently in the centre of a mountain and if you were to try to leave, you would suffocate” says the dungeon core, stupifying Dylan
“so what, I can’t leave this place,” says Dylan
“no, you can, there are 2 methods but I'm not sure you’ll want to do either,” says the dungeon core
“what are the two methods,” he asks
“well the first is to wait,” says the dungeon core
“wait,” he says back
“yes, about a year to be precise, that's how long it will take me to possess the area on the outside, you, however, will have to climb down half the mountain afterwards though,” says the dungeon core, causing Dylan to think
“and what's the second method,” he asks
“to spend your dungeon points to create a room,” says the dungeon core
“that doesn't sound so bad,” he says back
“right now, but you’ll understand later how important dungeon points are,” says the dungeon core
hearing this, Dylan starts to think, “well, dungeon points are important, there used for buying things in the store and for creating things in the dungeon but it’s not impossible to earn them back”
a moment of silence descends when suddenly in his head
Quest found escape the mana space escape the mana space by either creating a room or waiting a year time limit: none rewards: 1000 dungeon points, lvl +1, increase max mana capacity by 100 punishment: decrease max mana capacity by 100, (possible death if not heeding the dungeon cores warnings) Accept/Decline
“huh, um dungeon core, a screen talking about a quest has just appeared in front of me,” he says, surprising the dungeon
“what did you just say,” says the dungeon cautiously
“I just said that a screen saying I found a quest just appeared, should I accept or decline,” he asks but
“accept, absolutely accept, why would we decline, wait, what is the quest,” the dungeon core asks
“well, to either wait a year or to create a room to escape the mana space, so should I still accept,” he asks, stupifying the dungeon core
“yes, still accept,” the dungeon core says and Dylan immediately thinks accept
Quest Accepted
“so, what should I do now, build a room or wait a year,” he asks
“up to you, if you think you can wait a year, be my guest,” says the dungeon core, causing Dylan to once again think, this time which one will be beneficial to him
“if I spend dungeon points, I can get it done immediately but it might take some time before I'm able to get the dungeon points used for creating the room back, if I use more than 1000 points that are, but to wait for a whole year, that might not be long for me seeing as I'll live as long as the dungeon core providing I'm not killed but still, a whole year of doing nothing” he says when he suddenly remembered something
“hey, you said I could be a mage if I didn’t become a dungeon master before, right,” he asks the dungeon core
“yeah,” says the dungeon core back
“then what if I trained my magic in here, I mean it takes years to learn magic and if I trained on it in here, if I did”
“no,” the dungeon core says instantly
“huh, why,” he asks
“two reasons, the first is the fact that if you were to train magic inside the dungeon, you might become reliant on the dungeons mana which would only be detrimental to you, the second is the fact that we're inside the mana space,” says the dungeon core
“the fact were in the mana space,” he asks
“yes, the mana space is the place where all the mana collected within the dungeon is sent before it’s processed and distributed throughout the dungeon, as such this place has abnormally high but unstable mana, now you’re safe as long as you don’t try to do anything that has anything to do with mana besides things to do with the dungeon like creating rooms or creatures, but if you were to attempt to cast magic or meditate, bad things will happen” the dungeon core says
“bad things will happen, like what,” he asks back, not believing him
“well lets say you were to cast the basic level 1 fire spell spark, it would erupt and the spark would become a raging inferno equivalent to the intermediate level 8 fire spell eruption, at least, and if you were to attempt to meditate to increase elemental affinities, you most likely would explode into a pile of mush” says the dungeon core, shocking Dylan, “you can, however, read the books, if you want, as long as ou don’t use mana and don’t meditate you should be fine” says the dungeon core
“Whats the point of that!” he yells
“absolutely nothing, besides gaining knowledge, but you’ve got a long time to learn it and you’ll still have to spend dungeon points, maybe even more than what it would create a room,” says the dungeon core, surprising Dylan
“then what am I even thinking about,” he says as he thinks about the dungeon interface, he then goes into rooms and chooses to create a regular one right next to the dungeon core.
this stupifies the dungeon core “no wait” the dungeon core says but it’s too late
he decides to make the room about as large as an Olympic oval, he then starts to buy things to put in the room, some plants like trees and flowers, he hollows out some space and buys water to create a small lake, he buys 5 sword training dummies, 3 straw and two with armour on them, he also buys 5 standard archery targets, a weapon stand, some stones for strength training, he then designs a slight crevice on the outside for running and a few arrows, he was then going to exit when he notices a special kind of dummy, this dummy was like those martial arts dummies you would see in movies in which you would hit one arm and the other would spin to hit you, he buys two of those then exits, spending a total of 5000 points
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
this, however, took place in a matter of seconds as it was as simple as thinking what kind of room he wanted then browsing through the shop and thinking to buy them, he then proceeded to organise them into clear areas creating a nice mini world inside the dungeon
“what the hell, you spent half of your total amounts of points in one go, geez, don’t you know restraint, do you know how long it will take to regain that amount of points, 500 days, that’s right, 500 days, that’s more than a year, and what did you create” says the dungeon core
the years in arrerat are 271 days long they have a total of 13 months which are named dozexius, vruvag, tlocos, avums, qeall, hagozis, uza, tevisius, graurk, frakals, ilm, stykug and qlaxolt, their weeks have eight days, the names of the days are ocus, adosius, hurs, wrals, braarq, hajhn, xowaq and zoxas
soon after a bell sound goes off in his head

a bright light appears engulfing the room before suddenly disappearing, Dylan goes to look at his status
Name: Dylan Occupation: Dungeon master () Level: 2 Dungeon Points: 6000 Strength: 35 Dexterity: 45 speed: 55 stamina: 45
mana: 1005 (5100 when in the dungeon)
mana regeneration: 15% per hour (instantaneous when in the dungeon)
skills: basic archery lv 3
basic swords skills: lv 2
innate skills: +20 to four main stats when in the dungeon (G class)
Dungeon interface
Dungeon master skills: living liquid metal (G class) lv 1
“hm, an increase of 5 to strength, dexterity, speed, stamina and mana but that’s all that changed,” he says a little disappointed
“well what did you expect, you’re not gonna get stronger instantly, strength gained like that is not the kind of strength you want because even if you have it, controlling it is an entirely different manner,” says the dungeon core as if he were a wise sage
“I guess, anyway, you asked me what I made, well it’s a training room, this way I can use the room I had to create to practice and learn, no magic facilities though,” he says
“well there is also the stat bonus but I'll overlook that,” says the dungeon
“anyway, what now, even with this room, I'll still need to wait a year until you reach the outside,” he says
“not necessarily, open up the dungeon overview,” he says which Dylan immediately does “now, in the bottom right corner of the screen, there should be a map, it should be the picture of a mountain,” he says which Dylan immediately looks at, the screen then enlarges
the image was a large mountain, strange green lines seemed to fill this picture but the all flowed towards an orange section in the middle, or more specifically a blue sphere in the middle of the orange section, next to this blue sphere was a black room which Dylan recognised as the room he had just made
“you should have the map up, the green lines are the mana veins in the mountain, the orange area in the middle is the mana ore within the mountain, the blue sphere is the core and the black room is the dungeon, it should only have 1 room right now which is the one you just created” says the dungeon core
“yeah,” he says back
“in the bottom right corner of that screen should be a red area going into the mountain,” the dungeon core says and Dylan immediately looks over to see
“that’s a cave, it was formed before I was formed so I can’t claim it, but you can” the dungeon core leaving Dylan surprised
“huh, I can claim the cave, how,” he asks
“simple, you have to walk to the deepest part of the cave, once you’re there, simply touch the wall and say dungeon claim, then send out your mana, the cave then will be claimed as part of the dungeon, of course, this only works because it’s inside the mountain” says the dungeon core surprising Dylan
“so I can do that huh, but how am I supposed to get to the cave anyway,” he asks
“well now that we have a room within the dungeon, i can teleport you to the outside of the cave, I can’t do this when you’re in the mana space, only when you’re in the dungeon itself, which is why I needed you to create a room to use this method” says the dungeon core
Dylan starts to think when a ding goes off in his head

seeing this, Dylan is flabbergasted
“um, I just got another quest, and something called a rank up quest, what should I do,” he asks but the dungeon just remains silent “um” but before he can finish
“would you remind repeating that, please,” the dungeon core asks
“um, sure I just said I just got another quest, and something called a rank up quest, what should I do?” he says once again, confused at the dungeon cores response
“so I didn't mishear you, what's the two quests this time,” the dungeon core asks
“the first is to claim the cave, and the rank up is to complete 100 quests,” he says back
“accept both, claiming the cave is something we should do anyway, and a rank up is unbelievably valuable, especially if it’s something as simple as this,” says the dungeon core
“why is a rank up important, if I remember correctly the Lurking Shadow Catacombs had just gone through a rank up before it became a rogue dungeon right, what benefits does it give,” he asks
“a lot, but I can’t explain them right now,” the dungeon core says, leaving Dylan frustrated
“okay, so I accept,” he says
“yes,” the dungeon core says back

"so how do I leave this place,” Dylan asks
“just think it and you will,” says the dungeon core
Dylan immediately does so and the space around him starts to churn before he notices he’s now standing inside his new training room,
“pretty nice, but why’s it so bright in here, shouldn’t it be pitch black,” he says to himself as he admires his creation
“2 reasons, first is the fact that this room is surrounded by mana ore which glows in the dark, second is that the dungeon master can see everything within the dungeon,” says the dungeon core, startling him
“how,” he asks
“dungeon masters have a telepathic link to the dungeon core, it’s how we communicate in times of danger,” says the dungeon core “anyway, look at the weapon stand, I left a few gifts"
Dylan immediately turns to look at the weapon stand to see five items
the first item was a sword, This sword’s blade was pure white with blue outlines styled to resemble leaves. Its grip is wooden with runes carved into it.
the second item is a set of gauntlets, their pitch black with red outlines almost like veins, and a large blue crystal in the middle, their fingers extended out and ended like claws
the third item was a mask that only covered his eyes and nose, half was styled like the sword, half was styled like the gauntlets
the fourth was a metal canister that looked like a gourd
the fifth was a bow made of pure metal, it was pure silver in colour
seeing these five items, Dylan was surprised
“you created this room where some mana ore was so I used it to create these, now don’t use them in the outside world unless absolutely necessary, you risk revealing yourself as a dungeon master” the dungeon core says “there shouldn’t be anything dangerous in the cave but be careful, just ask for the equipment when you need them” Dylan is then immediately teleported to the outside of the cave
“so this is the cave huh” he says as he looks around, he was in the middle of a mountain forest, completely surrounded by stones and trees and this strange mist that covered the bottom of his feet, he enters the cave but as soon as he does some bats fly out surprising him, he then proceeds deeper but it was too dark so he buys a torch from the store for 2 dungeon points
“okay, there’s some bats on the ceiling, some snakes, some insects, ants, centipedes, millipedes, some frogs, nothing serious” he says, having been raised in a small village it wasn’t unexpected for him to find these things in caves, and it also didn’t surprise him as he had used to adventure in caves with his big brother and these were pretty common things to see
he continued inwards, not worrying about anything until he sees a small mound, or at least he assumed it to be a small mound until he noticed breathing
“there’s a bear, a real bear, I thought you said there wasn’t anything that was dangerous in this cave!” he yells through the telepathic channel
“there isn’t, just calm down and walk around it, it’ll take you a second, okay,” says the dungeon core, trying to calm him down, Dylan immediately tippytoes around the walls until he eventually reaches a place just behind the bear “here it is, the end of the cave”
“okay, dungeon claim,” he says as a light descends, filling the whole cave, soon pieces of information on all the species in the cave fill his head
“I'll go over those later, so what now,” he asks

“why don’t you create another room, it’ll allow for more mana to be given to the creatures that occupy that room as it’s closer to the core than here,” says the dungeon core
“oh, does the closeness to the dungeon core matter”
“of course it does, the closer a creature is to the dungeon core, the stronger the mana they absorb, the stronger the link formed and the stronger the creature created,” says the dungeon core
“oh, if that’s the case,” he says as he creates 2 rooms of similar size, one room at the back of the cave and the second right next to his training area, he then goes and buys plants and rocks to make the two rooms look like their parts of the cave
“hey, dungeon core, can you teleport the bear to the cave near my training area,” he says when he notices that the dungeon core was silent
“you idiot, you just spent all the dungeon points we had, the whole 7000 points!” yells the dungeon core
“oh please, calm down, we can use the second cave I've created to create strong creatures for the dungeon while we use this as a front until we're ready,” he says back causing the dungeon core to be silent
“well, I suppose I can understand your line of thinking,” the dungeon core says before he sighs “fine, I'll transport the bear” before a bright light appears and the bear disappears
“so what next,” he asks
“well, why don’t you visit a town”
