The Dungeon Found On Thirteenth Avenue
Chapter 2 - Thirteenth Avenue

Chapter 2 - Thirteenth Avenue

Sucked out of a storm drain, Trebble felt his entire world undulate and roll.

AHHHHHHH

Releasing a silent scream, Trebble twisted and turned as the world around him began to blur into a flurry of color and sound.

It was nauseating, scream-inducing, and somehow the most fun Trebble had had since his birth.

ahahahahah

yeeeeee HAWWWWW

Trebble couldn't help but ride the waves of euphoria as he felt his mind rock back and forth, as his dungeon expanded.

Although sadly the young dungeon core's fun didn't last long before reality decided to kick him in the face.

Stuttering and spluttering Trebble found his consciousness thrown out onto hard grimy concrete that was covered in filth. A sour, pungent, acidic hit his entire being like a truck, as musty darkness covered his entire soul.

It was disgusting !!!

Revolting !!!

Unholy !!!

Faced with such a terrible experience, Trebble quickly flew back down into his precious - Storm Drain - in an attempt to revitalize himself with the fresh smell of moss and the warmth of his dungeon core body.

Shivering in fear, Trebble desperately sought out comfort from one of the many lizards living in his -storm drain-.

" It was horrible !!! One second I was floating around my core room, and the next I was tossed into the vilest place I've ever seen !!!! It may have been the second place I've ever seen but It was the vilest !!!! "

Taking one good look at the bobbling source of light that was Trebbles consciousness the lizard quickly scurried away, ignoring Trebble's plight.

" Hey, I'm your Land-Lord !!! Get Back here !!! "

If the lizard could speak, it would probably tell the cheeky dungeon core to shove his landlord business up its #%@%!%^. It lived in these damn storm drains longer than that blue ball even existed.

About to go flying after the Lizard once more, Trebble was suddenly hit by a bunch of words.

Warning !!! -- It has been 5 Minutes since your acquisition of -- Thirteenth Avenue Street -- Please inspect the new area of your dungeon --

No no no...

Trebble refused to call that dark dirty abyss part of his dungeon.

If he had to expand he would just continue adding to his little storm drain.

he might even consider expanding over to the water pipes.

"The Storm Drain Dungeon " had a nice ring to it.

-- WARNING !! -- Thirteenth Avenue Street -- has been selected as your dungeons main corridor, please inspect the new area of your dungeon to complete the take-over proccess. --

Nope, Nope, Nope

If not going back to that place meant not recognizing it as part of his dungeon, Trebble would gladly stay down in his storm drain.

A quick visit to that smelly place was all that it took to send Trebble reeling, he wanted no business with that unholy local.

He had lizards, moss, some radioactive water, and his dungeon core down here. He was satisfied.

-- Non-compliance may lead to dungeon core implosion --

Hey, that was a little violent there.

Trebble was fairly certain words shouldn't be able to threaten anyone.

He was no fool, 20 minutes old, but no fool.

-- Dungeon core implosion in 10 seconds ---

AHHHHHH

Shaking in rage, Trebble finally relented.

Shooting up through the storm drain hole once more Trebble once again found himself floating in that ungodly place once more.

According to the system this place was supposed to be -- Thirteenth Avenue Street -- but from Trebble's perspective, it was barely a street.

With its start and finish conveniently marked by blue light. In Trebble's eyes -- Thirteenth Avenue Street -- barely counted as an alleyway.

Smooshed between the solid concrete foundations of two steel monoliths, the five hundred foot -- Thirteenth Avenue Street -- was completely covered in darkness.

Light only by flickering multicolored neon lights, the only things found on " Thirteenth Avenue " were garbage, filth, and the occasional poster that lined its walls.

To Trebble's horror, there wasn't even anything noteworthy on the street at all. No shops, no residential buildings, no alleyways, not even a shady dispensary. Only ancient unopened garage doors, that looked as if they lead into the basements of the towering monoliths that touched the stars above.

There was absolutely nothing of importance on the mess that was -- Thirteenth Avenue Street -- not even a spark of life.

-- You have successfully taken over -- Thirteenth Avenue Street -- and may now use it as the base of your dungeon. Until you grow powerful enough to purchase another main corridor all-new dungeon expansions will edit, grow off of, and expand -- Thirteenth Avenue Street --. For now, dungeon theme has been set to -- Thirteenth Avenue -- --

OoOoooOoo...

Did Trebble regret not choosing the option that allowed him to control his dungeon theme?

Possibly...

Was Trebble experiencing despair for the first time in his life?

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Yes...

But at the same time, was Trebble falling in love with the rush of emotions that came rushing at him?

Most definitely.

It was dramatic!

It was exciting!

It was Novel!

IT WAS SOMETHING ELSE, SOMETHING ELSE ENTIRELY, AND TREBBLE LOVED IT !!!

Trebble wouldn't let circumstance get him down !! He would laugh his way to the top !!!

He was 23.2312 minutes old and a dungeon core, he had no time for moping around.

If there was no life or anything on -- Thirteenth Avenue Street -- he would just have to change that.

Although he would have really², really², really², really², really², really², really².... preferred to keep his dungeon in the storm drains. At this point, he had no choice...

Throwing open his dungeon menu Trebble looked over what he could purchase for -- Thirteenth Avenue Street --

-- Dungeon Shop--

-- Thirteenth Avenue Street --

- Thirteenth Avenue Park - 40 mana - Bend the laws of space and botany and add a park on Thirteenth Avenue. Filled with neon trees and glowing grass this park will certainly light up this small dark Avenue. It might even attract some of the local lovebirds.

- The Alleyway - 10 mana - Create a random alleyway 5 meters wide in a random spot on Thirteenth Avenue Street. Dark and creepy, it might attract some unsavory people.

- Storefront - 15 mana - ??????

- ( Upgrade ) - 3 DP - Fix and upgrade the neon lights that bring life to Thirteenth Avenue, making them more resplendent and eye-catching than ever before.

- ( Upgrade ) - 10 dp - Increase the length of Thirteenth Avenue by 100 meters to anyone aware of the dungeon.

------

Creatures -

Little Shrooms ( 1 dp ) - Unlocked due to the amount of filth on Thirteenth Avenue - Throughout the day little shrooms may occasionally sprout out on Thirteenth Avenue Street. These shrooms may have special effects, and slightly clean up the area in which they sprout.

Little Goblin ( .5 mana ) - A little goblin that can potentially eat anyone that wants to pass by.

Billy the Rat - .5 mana - Unlocked due to the amount of filth on Thirteenth Avenue - A cure little rat that will help clean up Thirteenth Avenue. Upon death, Billy respawns within 15 minutes.

Vorms - 1 DP - Spikey mouths and poisoned tails Vorms are the nightmares of any unseasoned adventure

--------------

Tragically, he couldn't afford any of the upgrades to the street or expansions themselves, so Trebble had to resign himself to focusing on the smaller upgrades and options.

Striking goblin off the list just, for now, Trebble decided to push that option aside until he developed an environment suitable for a goblin. Although Goblins were known for living in filth, Trebble just didn't see a goblin living on a street corner.

And as for the Vorms.... yeah just no.

Trebble was attempting to make Thirteenth Avenue presentable, not turn it into a hell-hole. Those would stay unsummoned unless he decided to make an area dedicated to nightmare fuel and bodily fluids.

On the other hand the mushrooms... Those were immediately bought by Trebble with no hesitation.

Tiny little magical janitors, how could he turn those down.

Although none of the little shrooms had grown right after his purchase, Trebble just knew that he had to give them some time.

And as for his remaining .5 mana ???

That was spent directly on - Billy the Rat -.

Pop!

With a little pop a small, quaint, rathole appeared right at the start of Thirteenth Avenue.

How magical !!!

Floating over and shaking in expectation, Trebble eagerly waited to see the emergence of his first dungeon resident.

He didn't have to wait long, as one paw after another a rather cute and huggable rat slowly and cautiously pawed its way out of its rathole.

Lifting its head in greeting Billy the rat slowly locked eyes with the floating orb that was Trebble.

Placing its head between its paws and throwing out its tail Billy the rat used its ultimate move.

* Squeak !!!

It was just too much.

Squealing in joy Trebble zoomed circles around Thirteenth avenue for a good five minutes before finally calming down. Slowly drifting off into a cuteness-induced coma, Trebble dazed off as he watched Billy cutely make his way around Thirteenth Avenue while nibbling on trash.

Trebble was so enamored by the overly cute rat that he somehow missed the slow rhythmic beating sound that was slowly making its way towards his dungeon.

Thump, Thump, Thump, Thump,

The sounds of hundreds of shoes hitting the ground in a chaotic symphony slowly approached his dungeon. Waking up from his cuteness-induced coma Trebble was greeted with a wave of humans slowly charging towards his street.

It was at that moment that the newborn dungeon core realized the horror of the morning work rush...

As the humans made their way over the blue boundary that marked the start of his dungeon Trebble was bombarded by an unholy symphony of strange notifications.

- A human has entered your dungeon !! -

- A human has entered your dungeon !! -

- A human has entered your dungeon !! -

- A human has entered your dungeon !! -

- A human has entered your dungeon !! -

Stop that unholy noise this instant !!!!!

- Turn off dungeon entry notifications ? - Yes - No -

YES !!!!!

Regaining focus Trebble watched as the crowd of humans pushed and shoved, punched and kicked, smacked and slapped their way through each other in a desperate attempt to make their way to the front of the stampede.

With many tossing away the remnants of their daily breakfasts, Trebble's street was soon covered in a fresh layer of trash.

And yet the worst was to come.

Watching as a middle-aged man make his way into Billy's vicinity Trebble trembled as he watched the man turn his fiery gaze to the rat.

Soon enough Trebble was presented with the possible results of the encounter.

Possible passerby reactions - Billy The Rat

- Option 1 - Ew a rat kill it, 1 strange coin to passersby ( + .1 Dp to the dungeon)

- Option 2 - Say hello to Billy the cute rat.. ( +.1dp to the dungeon)

Perhaps as if sensing the imminent peril Billy the rat slowly turned to the man, placed its hands between its head, threw out its tail....

And

* SPLAT

+.1 dp

AHHHHHHHH

Screaming in horror, Trebble watched as the man picked up the coin that took the place of Billy's corpse and took off running once more.

What was wrong with people !!!!

Humans were supposed to be compassionate !!!

What was wrong with that man !!!

One hour later, Trebble was presented with a street filled in a heap of trash and nothing to show from his mental scarring but an extra .4 DP and a crying rat.
