Links: Assistive computer devices, designed to act as interfaces for controlling other devices. A Link may connect to one device for each available Channel, and can manage devices within their Bandwidth tier. Links can also be specialized for certain tasks, such as the semi-legal IntruderLinks, which exploit software and network vulnerabilities in targeted devices and interfere with or even subvert their general functions.

Deviation: Deviation from norm. Expressed as B/M where B is the number of biological augmentations and M is the number of mechanical or cybernetic augmentations. 0/0 Represents standard human. When M is greater than 8, the subject is considered a cyborg. A B of 6 or greater classifies the subject as an enhanced human, where as a B of 15 is considered post-human.

Turret: Automated weapon emplacement. Targets independently of user, but uses IFF data from owner’s Link for target discrimination. Normally have no on board power source or batteries, drawing energy from a remote reactor instead. This design decision was settled on after the first generation of turrets became popular targets for snipers, causing secondary explosions when their power stores were ruptured.

Buckshot: A type of ammunition which is made up of a grouping of pellets which begin to spread out as they are fired.

Slugs: A single, heavy projectile.
