Prologue

Year 2033, April 25th,

It was Clyde's birthday and the day the Moon fragmented into pieces, breaking like a mirror in the sky. Science and common sense cannot explain the phenomenon of such an event, planets are spherical and should not shatter like a disk in the sky. Yet it was indisputable. Life as everyone knew it became a conspiracy, end time fanatics were howling like wolves, and even the newscasters at T.V studios could not deliver the fact without breaking into a hysterical panic.

However, nothing drastic happened. The sea was still calm for the most part, there were no natural disasters, and aside from more shadows being cast by the shattered moon, the whole world remained very much the same for the most part.

But people started to realize they could all recall their dreams to a perfect memory. While dreaming, people were actually connected, one person could journey into the consciousnesses of another. There were also laws that applied to dreams, and like the waking reality, many rules were part of the fabric that cannot be changed. What made the dream world so expansive and under-explored was the fact that there were layers to dreams.

Personal worlds were places of an individual creation, most of the time, these worlds are walled by the subconscious, and only the dreamer could access the Personal world directly. In the Personal world, the dreamer could achieve a state of being omnipotent. Depending on the creativeness and will of the dreamer, the personal space can be either of pure control, pleasure and adventure, or slavery, nightmares and haunting. For most people, the personal world was one of mediocrity and mundane activities, since it reflected the person's waking life.

Beyond the Personal world was the Akashic plane. Which was a network of joined consciousness. The world of the Akashic plane was insurmountably huge. It is a whole galaxy of worlds created by the super consciousness of the whole population and anything that has been imagined exists. Because of the grandiosity of the Askashic world. Most people will enter this world through the crossroad before they start their dream.

The World outside of the Askashic plane is the Astral plane. Nobody has journeyed here. In fact, nobody even knows it exists. The Astral is like the administrative network with many admins that regulates the Akashic and Personal worlds. In human terms, it was the god world where deities like to hang out and poke their heads into the privacy of the dreamers.

Clyde is a narcissist, but for a good reason. He was born much taller, smarter and better looking than the average Joe. He also had an incredible discipline that helped him achieve anything that he endeavored. At just 22, he is the owner of three fitness centers, and although he is not a meathead with bulging muscles, he trained himself to be as strong, fast and skilled as any legends that made a name in physical achievements. Clyde was a modern day warrior that earned all his success through an indomitable spirit. Therefore, he looked down on anyone that didn't try to achieve and couldn't relate to why people were so lazy. And although he was showered in the desire of women and admiration of men, he was always a loner. He didn't want people to drag him down.

Yet, on his 23rd birthday. The moon shattered and the world took a U-turn to priorities. His success became redundant. His aspirations and even his dream of overwhelming material wealth became pointless. Everyone from children to seniors became infatuated by the Akashic world, people only woke up to drink, eat, shit and piss. The worst part was, the world became a complete socialist community where the government supported the slothful existence of the waking world and promoted exploring the sleeping one. Needless to say, Clyde's gym did not have any more business and he was also forced to rely on government funding to live a useless life.

Clyde did not explore the Akashic world. Every time he entered the crossroad to the Akashic and the personal world, he chose the personal, and his dream world was gray. What Clyde had in will, he lacked in imagination, and although he was undoubtedly omnipotent in his personal world, he just sat on a bench in his gym looking at the deserted machines. Every once in a while, he would do a few curls of the dumbbell with no enthusiasm. Nothing mattered to him anymore.

On a listless day, Clyde was at his home gym flipping through the very few channels that still broadcast news, which talked mainly of the Akashic world, it was only interrupted by commercials which introduced various types of “healthy” Sleeping pills and other sleep-related products. He hated the world that seems to now only be an intermission to dreams.

Clyde laid down on the bench and whispered “God, If you exist, you are one pathetic creature, How can you do this to me, I worked my fucking ass off my whole life to get here, and now you send the world to LaLa land, and the other pathetic existences are now getting everything from being a lazy sack of shit.”

“If you are playing some sick joke then I hope all of this world goes to hell and nobody will enjoy it. If I don't get to be happy, nobody does!”

After some onslaught of curses to the world, Clyde fell asleep. He found himself at the crossroad of the personal and Akashic world. However, this time a third road appeared between the two roads. The new road was paved in gold and seems to emit a divine sort of light.

And although Clyde did not care about dreaming in the slightest. His curiosity lead him to take the road paved in gold. He found himself walking on a clear lake. Surrounding the lake was burning fire, and in the center was a giant apple tree. Standing in front of the tree was a man with black wings, he had two little bulges on his head that resembled horns. Clyde walked up to the ominous figure.

“who the fuck are you?” Clyde asked the man.

“I am the Morning star, but you can call me Luci” the figure told Clyde

“Is this the Akashic world?” Clyde questioned.

“No, this world is known as the Astral world, you should be honored, no man has ever been here. Especially not my lake of fire. Luci said with a smile.

“I don't give two flying fucks about any of these dream worlds, I just want people to wake the fuck up and contribute to society. We didn't evolve to become a bunch of lazy bastards” Clyde fumed.

“who's to say which world is real, perhaps people evolved so long for the sole purpose of the Akashic world, did you not see the moon shatter, was that not meaningful to you?” Luci was still smiling

“That's like saying lions learned to roar so they could cower in their own voice.” Clyde argued.

“I invited you to my world because I agree with you, believe it or not, I created conflict in humans so they would grow to become like you, strong, intelligent and beautiful. You are meant to rule and wake them all from this silly dream” Luci said.

Clyde was skeptical, “what the hell can I do, I can't just go around shaking people awake from their beds”

Luci picked an apple from the tree behind him and handed it to Clyde “with this you will know the secret behind the Akashic world”

Clyde took the apple and observed the fruit, playing it in his hands.

“Eat it, you won't regret it” Luci urged

Clyde was always decisive, he took three big bites and swallowed the core.

“You are now a dream eater, things of nightmare. Wake the fools from their slumber!” Luci continued to smile.
