This story begins in a lavish mansion, or at least as lavish as they come in Amegakure. This is not a happy story, this is one of suffering, of grief, and it opens with a boy's excitement. Seiun yawned as he woke up from his bed. He moved to check the calendar and took a long look at the date.
Wait, that's today? Oh my god it’s today!
The boy had an excited gleam in his eyes, the gleam of a childlike excitement, as he sprinted downstairs. To his surprise, no sort of fanfare seemed to be given, it was almost as if it wasn't Seiun's big day. He went over to his mom and asked the question any 7 year old would ask.
"Mom, do you know what day it is?" A cheeky little grin plastered on his face as he inquired with a sing-song voice.
"Of course I do, child. You’re getting your chakra nature revealed to you today," Lady Yasei had an all-business tone, no excitement was present in her voice.
"Now hurry up boy, this fine gentleman has been waiting here for an hour now," After being not-so-gently urged by his father, the boy grasped the paper to observe what would happen. To his surprise, the paper began to crinkle up as if he had folded it numerous times despite only touching it with his two fingers.

"Woah…what does this mean?" The young boy looked to his father for confirmation.
"It means my boy, that you have the best chakra nature of them all: Lightning. Like your brother and sister before you," There was some form of whimsy in his voice, but that only came in when he mentioned Lightning style, it immediately died when he mentioned Seiun's sister.
Big Sis had lightning too? That's great! I can't wait to tell her about it!
"Cool! So mama, when will I be going to the academy?"
"Never."
His mother's curt response cut Seiun. What did she mean never?! Unfortunately, his mother had to elaborate further.
"You see son, us Yasei are the cream of the crop in Ame. Sure we don't present it that way, but our children are the finest shinobi in this village, and we don't want you to be any less than your dear siblings were," Seiun nodded as she went on, "They only obtained their skills through the rigorous training that we gave them, so it's only fair that we give you the same treatment,"
A palpable look of disappointment intruded on Seiun's face since he was so excited to finally meet the other kids in the village.
"Your lessons start later today boy, have some fun in the meantime," With that, the older Yasei retreated into their quarters, unaware that they had essentially killed any hope that their son had of having fun again.
