CH 5 - Divinos Beasts
A new instructor, a human female, entered the auditorium. She led the elementalists out of the room and Mr. Beech led the beast bonders. They arrive on an open field, large enough to fit 4 or 5 stadiums within, covered in various hi-tech training equipment.
The area near the compound was vacant, but the adjacent areas were dotted with people and beasts. Some working together to take down robotic training partners, some firing powerful skills at various shields, and others sparring in more space.
Dood, Kaizer, and three other beast bonders followed Mr. Beech to a large vacant space near the building. There, three humanoid gel-foam impact sensing dummies are arrayed 10 meters apart. Mr. Beech stepped beside the impact dummies, “As you might have guessed, this is one of our three training centers in the stronghold. This training center is specifically designed for Divinos Novices, so everyone that you see around you are novices such as yourselves.”
Surprised expressions filled the eyes of the five new beast bonders. ‘They are all at the same stage as us?’ Dood thought - remembering the people fighting like superhumans all around.
Mr. Beech smiled slightly, his voice rising over their murmurs, “The only difference between those you see around you and yourselves is time, training, and skills. You’ve only been in this realm for a few hours, so the photonforce hasn’t made much impact on your bodies. But over time, your cores will absorb and process energy to enhance your spirit and physique.”
Mr. Beech walked before a gel dummy and swung a lazy slap at its face.
*SMACK* *DING*
Following the crisp slap, a number materialized in the air above the dummy. 2734. “The number you see above the dummy is the registered power of an attack in pounds per square inch. You can use these dummies to monitor the growth of your strength. For now, level one divinos novices can expect a power ranging from 100 to 500. Step up and give it an attack.”
Dood, Kaizer, and a dwarven man named Pate stepped to the dummies first.
Dood thought back to the warm flow of energy that seemed to gather in his chest. He accessed the flow and it pulsed through his body. With bent knees and twisted waist Dood’s fist coiled at his hip like a viper’s head. *SMACK*
His fist slammed into the dummy’s head. Dood’s pupils constricted and he gasped. ‘How did I do that?’ A number appeared above the dummy’s head - 733. ‘I’ve never hit anything that hard.’
He looked over at Kaizer’s dummy and was even more surprised - 811. ‘His score is even higher than mine.’
Mr. Beech’s eye twitched as he glanced between the two high scores.
Dood looked to the dwarven boy’s training dummy - 424. ‘So we’re just abnormal. And judging from Beech’s face… very abnormal.’
The other two beast bonders, an elven woman Kana and an aquote girl Summer, stepped to the dummies and attacked - 177 and 387. “Well done. If you’re unhappy with your power number, don’t dwell on it. In time your strength will increase. Work hard and train. Strength comes when you push your limits.” Mr. Beech looked at Dood and Kaizer, “You two.” He called to them, “Your beasts’ bloodlines are Epic restricted rank, aren’t they?”
Dood nodded right away in acknowledgement. Kaizer glanced at him, then back at Mr. Beech and nodded as well.
“No need to be on guard.” Mr. Beech reassured them with a smile. “It’s a blessing anytime a powerful divinos beast bond appears. My beast has an Epic ranked bloodline and I was considered rather talented. No wonder you two already possess such might.”
Dood and Kaizer looked at each other and shrugged. The other three looked at the two humans with varied expressions. An awkward tension bubbled up.
“Next,” Mr. Beech stepped in front of the impact dummies, “you will summon your divinos beasts from your cores.” He looked to the empty space before him, “With your spirit, find your divinoscore again. This time you don’t even need to venture inside, simply call out to your beast within. It will materialize based on your intention.” A wisp of electric energy escaped from Mr. Beech’s chest and Elveerin appeared in the space he was looking. “Now you try. Keep your eyes open, and your beast will exit from the windows of your soul.”
Dood called out to Brave with his mind, looking directly before him, beckoning him from the core with intention. A wisp of strange energy, black with golden glow, burst from Dood’s right chest.

Mr. Beech’s pupils constricted and his brows creased, “What aspect of the photoforce is that?” He said under his breath.
As the energy left Dood’s chest, a stream of knowledge downloaded into Dood’s mind:
Name : Brave
Divinos Beast : Cosmicanine
Photonforce Aspect : Cosmicforce
Bloodline Rank : Epic (RESTRICTED)
Skill Shards :
* Cosmic Steps SSS (Brave can instantly teleport anywhere within his senses and recall back to his original position if he needs to before the cooldown has finished. 3 second cooldown.)
* Plasma Slash S (Brave’s claws or teeth become supercharged with lightforce creating extremely high temperatures that can slash through solid metal)
* Cosmic Crush SS (Brave crushes up to 3sq meters of space anywhere within his senses with his jaws.)
* RESTRICTED
* RESTRICTED
* RESTRICTED
‘So that’s where I got that skill from…’ Dood thought. The Cosmic Steps skill was the same as the skill that his divinoscore awakened with.
In the next moment, directly before Dood, stood a magnificent young wolf. Its obsidian fur sparkled with sparse motes of golden starlight, like a faintly glowing starry night sky. The fur on its paws, tip of its tail, and regal crest of its chest were a crystalline gold. Dood tussled Brave’s mane again, and smiled, ‘The feeling is exactly the same as it was in the divinoscore.’
He took Brave’s fluffy face in his hands and kissed his long nose, which earned him a full-faced lick in return. Dood laughed and turned to see Kaizer’s beast.
A young lion with scales, claws, and horns of a black dragon stood before the stoic yet grinning Kaizer. The lion’s radiant mane buried in his stomach, getting tussled affection. It seemed as if every color existed in the fibers of that mane of hair. Its onyx scales, claws, horns, and face matched the color of a novice divinoscore perfectly, which contrasted beautifully with the resplendent mane.
Dood’s mouth opened into a tight circle and a *WOAH* sound escaped his lips.
Kazier looked over and had the exact same reaction when he saw Brave. Then looked up to Dood with a grin and they both chuckled.
Next to Kaizer - Kana, the elven woman, summoned a hairless cat, no larger than a normal housecat, but had three purple eyes and stood on its two back legs. Next to Dood - Pate, the dwarven man, summoned a scarlet furred gorilla with clear shards growing from its skin. The final new beast bonder next to Pate - Summer, the aquote girl covered in light blue round scales, summoned a silver shark-like beast with four alligator legs.
“Congratulations everyone on summoning your divinos beast from your cores!” Mr. Beech announced, his eyes lingered longer on Dood and Kaizer’s beasts. ‘Those two again. Those beasts look remarkable, possibly Legendary bloodlines.’
He cleared his head of distracting thoughts and focused on his announcement. “The summon and recall process will quickly become easier and easier as you practice.” He stepped back to the side of the impact dummies and gestured to them, “Next, your divinos beasts will attack a dummy to register its power. Use this exercise as an example that a primal beast poses.”
Dood, Kaizer, and Kana stepped alongside their beasts to the three impact dummies.
Kana’s hairless cat cocked its head when it looked at its “opponent”. Kana called out to it, “Yipyee, use telekinesis on the rocks to attack!” The hairless three eyed cat raised its hands and a purple glow intensified in its eyes. All the sudden a fist sized rock rose from the earth with a shimmer around it. *MEOW* it pushed its hands forward which sent the floating rock shooting at the impact dummy’s head. *CRACK*
The rock exploded on impact, leaving the impact gel on the dummy slightly indented. A number appeared above the dummy - 1103.
“Impressive.” Mr. Beech congratulated, “Psychicforce is a rare aspect.” Then he turned to the rest of the trio and watched. ‘This’ll be good.’
Kaizer and Dood didn’t call out any skill or action. They could communicate to their beasts without thought, just intention.
Suddenly, two golden glows lit up the training field. From the Leodragon’s eyes, a golden glow traveled through its neck into its mane, lighting it up like a golden sun. Meanwhile, the claws on Brave’s paws burst with a brilliant golden light. Another flash of golden black light burst from his fur then he simply vanished - instantly appearing above the head of the impact dummy.
Mr. Beech’s eyes narrowed and his mouth hung open, “It’s spaceforce… but different.” He murmured to himself.
Leobro opened its mouth and a beam of golden fiery light blasted into the impact dummy’s chest. When the residual light and smoke cleared the dummy’s chest was slightly concave, a small part melted like gooey cheese. A number appeared above the dummy - 2798.
At the same time, Brave’s glowing golden claws fell. The air sizzled with heat then… *SHWUH* Four slashes left shallow cauterized marks on the head of the dummy. The same golden black glow burst from the wolf’s fur, and he instantly appeared back in front of Dood. A number appeared above the dummy - 3298.
Mr. Beech spoke in careful cadence, “You two actually damaged them? These impact dummies are rated for high level Divinos Novice attacks.” He walked to the impact dummies and pressed a button on their backs, while studying Brave and Leobro. New gel appeared to replace the impact gel that was damaged.
Mr. Beech turned to face the group, “In the future when you damage the gel coating, just press the red button on its back. I didn’t think I’d need to teach you that…” he trailed off absentmindedly. Then looked to the dwarven man, Pate, and aquote girl, Summer, “You two are next.”
Pate and Summer took Dood, Kaizer, and Kana’s place before the impact dummies along with their beasts. Pate’s scarlet gorilla moved first.
The clear crystals on its body turned red. Its muscles visibly bulged and the ape stepped forward and smashed both fists onto the dummy. Its power score - 1597.
Summer’s shark beast moved across the ground as if it was swimming through the water. It’s alligator legs churning to keep up. It jumped up and with wide open jaws full of deadly teeth - crunched the dummy’s head. A power score of 1011 appeared above its head.
“Very good!” Mr. Beech congratulated. “With the power scores of your beasts’ attacks as a guide - we’ll move onto the next lesson. Combat.”
