Chapter 5- A Display of Brutality

[December 1, 2114, Galuna City’s Suburbs]

Shinji looked over the middle-aged men with a grim smile on his face.

“Eenie, meenie, miney, mo. Who’s the unlucky bastard who’ll get beheaded!”

The men were clearly trembling and shaking visibly, cold sweats dripped down, their skin turned pale in an instant.

One of the men spoke to another, with a trembling voice “We’ve definitely done fucked, didn’t we?”

The others couldn’t help but agree. In an instant, the middle-aged men ran for their lives, knowing that they’re facing death himself.

Shinji, as though he was experienced, conjured the dark matter creeping around his arms to take the form of a scythe with a chain extending from the end.

“This should suffice.” The boy looked over at his newly made weapon and with great haste, he sprinted towards one of the adults. He tossed the scythe near the general direction of where the man was. The man stood still in fear and anguish as he knew what his fate was.

“So you’re the first victim!” Shinji’s voice resonated from the dark, his eyes had a crimson glint. He pulled the chain attached to the scythe, breaking the ground where the adult stood.

Now, the adult was quite literally shitting from fear, he was completely fazed and confused. The man started praying to whatever deity he could, Allah, Buddha, even Jesus. The boy’s ecstatic expression quickly turned into a face of disgust upon seeing this.

“Cry all you want to your fake gods, none of them exist anyways, and even if they did, they would only do so to forsake you for your pitiful self.” Shinji grabbed unto the scythe’s chain and begun to swing it around like a lasso. “With that being said, any last words Mr. Dipshit?” he flung the scythe forwards and in an instant, the middle-aged man’s head was cut cleanly. There were no signs of struggle, the decapitation was done so neatly that it took quite a while for the head to fall off from the neck and the blood to start oozing. The other adults who witnessed the event screamed for dear life, some of them started bickering among themselves and eventually, they split up trying to save their own skin.

“Ahh, such bothersome people, why won’t they take responsibility for what they did for me?” Shinji stretched his limbs and did some warmup exercises before he rushed towards the men. As he was about to take-off, he was suddenly intercepted by 23 mysterious silhouettes. These were the elite assassins that the council sent to take care of Shinji. Now Shinji, who was not wary of these figures took the situation lightly.

“Now now, let’s not get too rowdy up in here” Shinji nonchalantly spoke as if he did not have a care in the world. The assassins already knew that Shinji had acquired some new power, this was evident by the crimson energy sprawling from him and the chained scythe, but the problem was that they didn’t know the full extent of Shinji’s ability was. One of the figures attempted to provoke Shinji so that he would be left defenseless, “Hey shitface, where are your parents at this hour? Too busy fucking each other? If that’s the case, did they bring a condom in case another miserable excuse for a human like you happens again?” Surprisingly, this simple insult managed to enrage Shinji since this was a touchy topic for him.

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

“Say it again fuckface.” Shinji glared at the figure with bloodlust, he started to swing his scythe by the chains in a circular motion.

“I said that you’re a pathetic excuse for life, you deaf?” the figure mocked Shinji again with a more pissy voice. At this moment, the other members of the assassination group were getting ready to strike at Shinji’s blindspot. They anticipated him to target only the member that was provoking Shinji, except it didn’t go according to what they had planned.

The crimson energy that was spewing out from Shinji intensified as he got even more enraged. Now, the members of the assassination group were stunned and baffled as to what was unfolding. The scythe dissolved back into dark matter and grew. It had surrounded Shinji’s torso and formed into something akin to armor.

A voice ringed inside Shinji’s head, as if it was telling him what to do. The boy could only follow the voice, he thought of it as his instincts.

“Abyss Form 2: Impervious” Shinji chanted these words as the dark matter enveloped him. After quite a while, the crimson energy stabilized, but Shinji stood completely still. The assassination group thought of this as an opportunity to finish off the lad. Just as they were within a 2m range from the boy, the whole group suddenly felt dread. Their fight or flight response were screaming to retreat from the boy, but it was too late.

Their very life force was being sucked in by the statuesque figure clad in black. A faint voice was heard from within the figure “Blood Arts: Implosion.” All in an instant, the cloaked assassins appeared as if they were fireworks of blood. Their intestines burst within their stomachs. Their blood vessels popped leaving behind a magnificent fountain. The ground was painted red with all the blood and intestines laying around. Faint laughing could be heard from within the dark-plated shell.

After an hour, the armor reverted back into a strange substance. The boy forged its shape back into a scythe with a chain attached to the end. He took a deep breath and layed on the ground, exhausted. All of this happened within 4 hours. It strained the boy’s brain and body. He spent the night here, surrounded by the blood and trailings of demons.

“Oh… So it wasn’t just some fantasy.” The boy woke up to the scene of bloodshed in the suburbs. Remembering what has transpired, Shinji realized that he still had the powers granted to him by the Devil. He smiled in a wretched manner, it was unsightly. Countless of thoughts flowed through his head. And from within the thoughts, a voice resounded as if it was a mortal reminder. “Everything you hold dear will perish.” The boy took no heed to this as he thought that this reminder didn’t mean a thing to him.

From there on, Shinji established an objective that only he can and should fulfil. To dispose of anyone who had maltreated him, including his very own parents.
