Prologue

Arnold Rostler sighed and stood up from his chair. He had just sent his son, Aiden, to the latest mining colony for his coming-of-age test. All he had to do was manage the mine successfully for one month on his own. Truthfully, Arnold had little hope for his success. Aiden was too caught up in his little inventions, he wasn't mature enough to handle this responsibility. But his personal feelings about the outcome had little effect on the matter. the test would be held anyway, and Arnold would see whether his concerns were unfounded or not. At least he wouldn't be on Earth for a while. One of his competitors had a history of hiring assassins, and Arnold didn't want his son to be their target. This way, he could protect his son without having to worry him. He just hoped the test went well.
