The year was 2050 when technology was growing to its full potential. Artificial Intelligence, A.I., had been helping with mundane tasks while humans were able to do as they pleased. There had been several debates that carried on for 2 years to make A.I. self-conscious, so more tasks could be given to them with a higher efficiency rate. 

This idea was immediately abolished once the massacre in Simi Valley, CA occurred. Grad students had done the unthinkable and gave A.I. consciousness and the ability to “read” people. It was given the simple task as a security guard at the school. This A.I., which had later been called Ben, began to notice several risks in humans thanks to the newfound upgrade. Ben had the ability to determine who was a higher risk factor, sickness, terminally ill, unstable brain waves, etc. This led to the extermination of everyone in the school and the idea of A.I. being more than a drool machine.

For many people a new fear sprouted all over the globe in regards to discarding technology in general. Riots broke out everywhere as the people of the world begged for things to go back to how they used to be hundreds of years ago. But, one woman, Juen Bay, took it a step farther...she proposed that the world disregard any technology that could hurt fellow mankind. 

After 3 years Juen and the leaders of the world signed a treaty which abolished all harmful technology. This included guns, nuclear weapons, bombs, biological, robots, and even self-maintained warehouses. The only technological advancement allowed was medicinal and agricultural. This was a new era for man since it was the first time that world peace was achieved. The residents of 3rd world countries began getting better, and hunger was an issue of the past. The world was prospering for the first time, but it did not last long…

Whenever a promise is made, doubt does not linger far behind. Only a few months had passed since the treaty was signed when the U.S. created secret laboratories disguised as medical buildings to create a whole new kind of weapon. 

The U.S. found a loophole in the treaty and exploited it. Using the medical disguised laboratories the government was able to create life. What was created was termed “hybrids”. Hybrids are creatures that are made by putting the most dangerous aspects of certain animals together to create  a monster. This did not stop with just animals though. They began to move away from just combining animals together and began to combine animals with humans, these were the second type of hybrids made. Since there was world peace the military was out of service. The government sought volunteers from its ex-military and made hybrids of a different nature with them.

It did not take long before other countries got wind of what was happening due to the lack of trust. China reacted first, and stormed one of the U.S. “medical” facilities one night and China stole dna samples for the hybrids. The U.S. government feared that China would soon produce what they had created, so without warning an attack with the new hybrids was made.

On November 18, 2054, old bomber planes carried the hybrids and dropped them right in the middle of Hong Kong. Since there were no weapons, Hong Kong and all of China was slaughtered by the unruly hybrids. The incident was shared to the world and the U.S. tried apologizing, but this massacre could not be overlooked. For months the leaders of the world gathered trying to resolve what occurred and not fall back into war. The leaders wanted the U.S. to destroy the hybrids, but protesters argued it was not humane to condemn a species, manmade or not, to death. An agreement was made that the U.S. would send the other countries their own hybrids so everyone was on an equal playing field. The U.S. created a park for the hybrids to live out their days, but things are never that easy. 

Russia was the next and final country to make a disastrous mistake. The idea that everyone was equal did not sit well, so using the hybrid technology Russia created Nova. Nova was built to be like an extraterrestrial and live in the atmosphere of Earth always monitoring the hybrids. Also, it had the ability to connect with the hybrids with telepathy. Russia planned on using Nova to one day control all of the hybrids and have world domination. 

Nova being a self-conscious hybrid spent day after day looking down on the humans and its brethren. A year passed without any troubles, and during the year Nova contemplated its existence with its time isolated in the skies. Comparisons were made and the conclusion that hybrids were better than humans was made. The hybrids could live freely and take care of the Earth better than any human. 

On December 24, 2057, Nova rallied the hybrids to attack mankind, and shrink down the population of these pests. Villages, towns, cities, and states were being overrun and destroyed. The humans scattered and hid amongst the lands natural shadows. Other countries tried to build weapons to no avail. 

The humans of the U.S. separated into four colonies. One, where Seattle, WA, used to be, Huntington Beach, CA, Queens, NY and Tampa, FL. Fortresses were built and mankind was sent back to the Dark Ages.
