As the light returns once more to the world I pick myself up off the floor from where I had fallen in shock. The unexpected consequences of picking my class and the subsequent system restart can be heard all around me as my neighbors exclaim loudly shocked trying to figure out what exactly has happened. My vision is once more filled with strange things. The three bars, one red, one blue and one green, sit floating in the upper left part of my field of view are just one of the new features. An opaque circle like map marking my surroundings also exists in the upper right corner and several icon like objects fill the lower right. Focusing on each of these I find the knowledge of their function and what they are flow into my mind from an unknown source. The red bar signifies my health, the blue bar mana, and the green bar stamina. The mini-map though lacking great detail naturally lets me determine my orientation knowing which way is north while the yellow dots marking it I instinctively know are my nonhostile neighbors in their apartments and the one red dot is a grumpy old tenant on the floor above that hates everyone.
Focusing on the icons in the lower right i call up the first a configuration menu that controls the visual aspect of my HUD, playing with these settings for a moment I pick and configure the placement of the mini map and various resource bars setting them to be opaque and get gradually more visible as they decrease and a flashing warning that will appear when they are below 15 percent. Moving to the second icon which proves to be an empty quest log with columns for accepted, in progress and completed quests.
“This will prove to be quite handy.” I quietly say while thinking of the advantages and uses this will give me.
The third icon is unlit meaning I can't select it but based on the image of a book with an empty bar under it I take it for being the percent of EXP to the next level and the icon being used for accessing the level up screen.
The fourth icon is likewise currently blank but reserved for social uses. Containing guild information with a currently empty friends and enemies list on a second tab.
The fifth and last icon I come to is the most iconic one of any game the status menu. Taking a quick breath which I hold for a moment I focus on the last icon selecting it and opening a new window in my HUD and exploring the details of my new class.

Reviewing this new found knowledge I stretch feeling the changes to my body. Gone is the feeling of fatigue and stress. My joints all move like a well-oiled machine. Movements smooth and even without tension but full of strength. Opening and clutching my hand I feel like every muscle in my body is as equally strong and likewise pulls from the same pool of stamina. This new physique is going to come in quite handy on the frontier.
After a few minutes of testing my body and the new features presented to me, i pack up a few things that important to me. Placing them into a backpack I notice that though the items I place into the bag are quite bulky the bag itself does not seem to bulge in the least. Focusing on the bag the feeling of knowledge once more flows into me explaining that the space inside the bag and any pockets I have greatly compress the volume of the items I put inside of them. preserving only their mass which acts as the limiting factor of what I can carry in this extra-dimensional inventory. Excited by this prospect I pick a selection of dishes, cookware and cleaning supplies to likewise add to my inventory knowing I will need them in the days ahead.
Taking one last look around my apartment I quietly say my goodbyes to it bowing in front of the door before shutting it behind me. Quickly walking down the steps and out into the street I make my way to the train station purchasing a ticket on the bullet train to Queensand the closest major gate out of the empire and to the frontier. Boarding the train and looking out the window I'm sure that the 6 week trip to Queensand will pass in the blink of an eye.
