Prologue

"This cycle should be rather interesting my love." Announced the purple, faceless form sitting cross-legged, in the left of two thrones looking over a colossal map of the world. She lazily drew her eyeless gaze to the form sitting on the other throne to her right.

Her deep azure companion inclined his head, not looking away from the almost imperceptibly fluttering map, and replied; "I look forward to seeing what he will bring to the world, my dear." He chuckled softly as he finally returned his lovers gaze. He continued; "I wonder what our followers would say if they discovered that we were introducing one of his kind on the world."

The purple form lifted her lithe hand to cover her non-existent mouth and stifled a giggle before stating; "They'd probably just blame the red one again!" Her lover returned his gaze to the map and focused his unseeing stare on a minuscule cave in the side of a mountain.

"My dear, we really must apologise to the red one for the last time he took the blame for one of our games. I have rather missed his companionship these last few decades." The azure figure sighed and flicked a finger in the direction of the cave before saying; "My light, we shall see how our latest game goes but know that if he is not too entertaining then I'm reserving the right to nudge him in a satisfactory direction."

"My heart, you have never needed my approval to make our games more interesting, have you?" Replied his companion.

He simply nodded his head slowly then sighed once more before sitting bolt upright and lifting his hands to the infinite void above them.

"GREAT FATHER! WE BESEECH YOU TO BESTOW YOUR INFINITE POWER AND WISDOM IN COMPLETING OUR MIRACLE ON THE WORLD! WE, YOUR GREATEST OF CHILDREN, LAVISH YOU WITH ALL DUE PRAISE AND DEFERENCE! WE ENTREAT YOU TO FULFIL OUR HUMBLE WISH!"

They both drew in a sharp breath as he finished. They were forced to wait for what felt simultaneously like an eternity and no time at all before a tiny crack of pure white light appeared in the endless darkness above their heads. The crack grew and grew until the void was filled with a blinding whiteness. Just as it began feeling like the whiteness would consume everything it touched, it rapidly condensed into an infinitesimally small note of radiance before a single streak of light shot out and touched the cave that he had been focused on.

As soon as the light touched the cave the whiteness disappeared as though it had never been there to begin with. They both offered silent prayers to the Great Father before they locked their absent eyes.

They were almost vibrating in their seats as she whispered; "Let our latest games begin my love."
