Author's Note: Yeah I know it's been a while but at least it wasn't another year. The past few weeks have been a little crazy for me. I kinda got a new job. Yay!~ And every time, I settled down to write I either stared at a blank screen, got frustrated with what I'd already written or gotten a 'I need help' text from a friend. So yeah I re-wrote this chapter a few times and here yah go. Oh and I went back and changed the time frame 'god' gives humanity. I realized a week was a little overkill and so now its 3 days instead. Anyway no more rambling from me. Enjoy the chapter and I hope to see you in chapter 4.
(P.S. If you find any spelling errors or horrendous grammar mistakes please tell me. I like fixing those kinds of problems.)

Chapter 3 - To the Party.
“So, what the fucks a cruor anyway?”
“Wait? That’s the only question you have?”
After looking at both her status card and ‘helpful’ book, all Elena had to ask about was her to be race? The look on Andrew’s face said all that needed to be said about how her only concern was her race.
“Well yeah. I mean isn’t it a girl’s right to be concerned about her appearance.”
“I mean, I guess?”
“God, boys! Never understanding a single thing about the way a woman’s mind works!”
Andrew, as a man who's had at least a little bit of experience with women, ‘wisely’ chose this moment to keep his mouth shut. Deciding it would just be easier for both of them if he doesn’t press the matter farther.
Only when the silence continued both of them didn’t really know what to say further until Andrew couldn’t take it any further. He shimmied a little until his wallet was in his hand and a card that looked almost identical to the one Elena pulled out just minutes before. Of course the contents were different as Andrew pointed out.
“I’m also wondering what an Astor could be.”
“Huh? You have something different from me? Let me see!” Elena didn’t wait for a reply as she grabbed the card from his hand and examined it. Her body completely in his personal space.
Status Name: Andrew Matthews Race: Human->Astor Health: 100% Mana 100% Party: Cherryhill Apartments Attributes ???: ??? Charisma: 17 Intelligence: 14 ???: ??? ???: ??? ???: ??? Strength: 15 Wisdom: 11
“What! You have some of the attributes unlocked! How’d you do that? And why haven’t you told me about this yet?!? You holding out on me? I thought we were close.” At the last sentence she even pouted a little for extra measure. Elena for some reason didn’t think the fact that she was already in his face emphasised her point well enough.
Leaning his body back a little and groaning when he got in a more comfortable position. “Well I would have told you about it eventually. Plus isn’t this the perfect time to tell you about it?”
“Elena took his movement as a sign and eased herself more into his lap. While pushing the status plate more into his face. “That still doesn’t answer my question. Who, What, When, Where, Why. You don’t need to answer them all just most of them. Now ‘splain the Attributes man!”
“Huff.” He exhales deeply. “I never said you could sit in my lap.” Shaking his head, Andrew decides he’d let it go, just this once. “Ugh. Anyway. Attributes. While you were………..reorganizing…., me and all the guys on the 3rd floor decided to have a little pow-wow. Basically we just kept experimenting with all the stuff and Adrean ended up joking about how the card things might be activated by blood, like in one of those video games or light novel things.”
“Thinking it wasn’t entirely a stupid idea we tried. It worked. You should have seen Adrean’s face when it actually worked. I tear up just thinking about it. Anyways, after that we started thinking since it was a pretty game like way to make it activate, maybe the Attributes were the same things as stats in a video game. That led to us finding out the four you see. All you have to do is say them aloud and the card registers that you know the attribute. Of course they might have found more. I kind of left to find you after I found them out.”
Elena turns around at that, causing a slight blush to rise to Andrew’s face. To hide it he quickly turns his head away and says, “At any rate, why don’t you try and find out what your stats are?”
This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.
A grin blossoms on her face as she turns around and pulls her card out with her free hand.
“Charisma.Intelligence. Strength. Wisdom.”
Status Name: Elena Striker Race: Human->Cruor Health: ??% Mana ??% Party: Cherryhill Apartments Attributes ???: ??? Charisma: 16 Intelligence: 15 ???: ??? ???: ??? ???: ??? Strength: 12 Wisdom: 13
“Huh?” Her brow furrows slightly. “Why is my Charisma lower than yours? Well at least my Intelligence and Wisdom is higher than yours! I knew I was smarter than you!”
Spoiler :
Here a quick comparison so you don’t have to scroll up
Side by Side Comparison
Elena
Charisma 16 Intelligence 15 Strength 12 Wisdom 13
Andrew
Charisma 17 Intelligence 14 Strength 15 Wisdom 11
Andrew let out another silent huff. Elena just had to make comparing their stats into a competition. There should be a limit to a person’s competitive nature. Even an apocalypse didn’t seem to have any effect to killing hers though.
“Yes. Yes. Yes. You’re smarter than me so please be nicer. Maybe that’s why I have the higher Charisma? Because I’m the nicer one of the two of us?”
“But I am nice!”
“Really?” Andrew only raises an eyebrow at that.
Sticking her tongue out, “Now who’s being nice. Meanie!”
He smirks at that and looks a little off to the side, noting that the clock says that it’s become half past 6.
He then looks down at Elena, “So we’ve got about an hour and a half to go to the party, what do you want to do in the meantime.”
She whips her head to check the time as well, “An hour and thirty-four minutes to be exact! That’s just enough time!” No time is wasted as she stumbles out of Andrew’s lap and dashes to one of the few cabinets beneath a bookshelf. After just a second, her eyes sparkle as she makes her way back to him. Only this time she’s carrying a box that makes a few noises as she makes her way over.
“Seriously? It’s an apocalypse and you want to play Dead of Winter? Are you sure you didn’t get chosen for the wrong genre of apocalypse? Fantasy instead of Zombie?”
Nodding her head in agreement, Elena only says, “I know right? Why didn’t God think about the fact that I’ve already prepped for a Zombie Apocalypse when he decided to ship us off to another planets.”
“Yeah, why didn’t he.”
All while this conversation was happening, Elena deftly put together the board game. While Andrew shuffled every item deck and helped her set it up. Even with all the game pieces it only took them a solid 5 minutes to get everything out and throw themselves into the game. No more words said that didn’t have anything to do with the game.
……………………………………………………….
One hour and twenty or so minutes later
……………………………………………………….
The game ended after a fierce struggle for food and scavenging for supplies in the School building. Mike Cho saved next to everyone when they went out searching. Though crazy enough Andrew ended revealing that he was the traitor all along as he killed off all of Elena’s characters.
“Why didn’t I suspect that you were aiming for the cultist leader?????? It was soooo obvious now that I know! Why else would you have kept gathering all those characters. No one aims for seven people and more other than the cultist!”
“Hey. It’s your fault for trusting the nice guy, I guess. Everyone knows the nice guy can’t be the traitor.”
“Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I call foul play. Retry! Let’s play again!”
Andrew shakes his head at that. “As much as I’d like to, the meeting is going to start any minute now and we should get going for it. Come on let’s get to cleaning the game up.” His hands already grabbing the last remaining zombies and putting them back into their bag.
Elena says with a huff, “Fine.”
Once everything was packed up, they made their way out of the apartment. Though, Andrew did grab Dead of Winter with a wink. “In case there’s ever some down time in the new world.” Afterwards, the two make their way across the hallway, so they could get to the roof.
Even though the party started at 8, the roof already contained all 34 residents of Cherryhill Apartments.
