Chapter 168

Willow was shocked. She had been searching for it for five years. What was it doing in Jasper's possession?

It occurred to her that Edith must have picked it up and gave it to him.

It would be more persuasive to say that she found the token since Willow was crushed to death.

Willow smiled dryly. "Mr. Hughes, it's yours, so you should keep it."

Jasper frowned. He sounded displeased as he insisted, "I never take back a gift I've given away. Take it!" His powerful aura was frightening.

He may not have been loud, but Willow still shuddered in fright.

Since Jasper had put it that way, Willow stopped refusing. She went over and took the pendant.

Upon closer observation, there was a dragon carved on the pendant. It seemed like a domineering and vibrant creature as it rode on a cloud.

This pendant was shaped like a cloud.

Willow now understood that the pendant was trying to depict the image of a dragon soaring through the clouds.

Five years ago, when she was furious about losing her virginity, she merely glanced at this pendant before throwing it away. She didn't get a proper look at the image and details on it.

When she attempted to draw the pendant's image for Rachel, she only vaguely remembered the shape and carving it had, but not how they were being presented.

Suddenly, a thought came to mind.

How did Samantha forge one when Willow didn't even remember the details herself?

The replica looked exactly like this one.

She asked out of curiosity, "Mr. Hughes, may I know where you found this pendant?"

"Samantha picked it up."

So that was how Samantha managed to forge an identical replica. She had used the real one as a reference.

The pendant that she had been searching for all these years was with Samantha all along.

Not only did Samantha keep it from her, but she even made a fake one and had someone give it to her so she could be framed as a thief!

That woman was too vicious.

Willow grew increasingly furious the more she thought about it.

She saw Samantha as a best friend whom she grew up with, but Samantha saw her as an enemy that she could keep hurting.

"You don't seem to like this pendant," Jasper said in a deep voice while keeping his eyes on her.

Back then, he had placed the pendant in her hand so she could hold onto it. Concerned that she might drop it in her sleep, he even tied it to her wrist with a red string.

That way, the pendant would never slip and fall off. She was bound to find it when she woke up.

It never would've gone missing if she kept it properly.

Yet, the pendant was lost for five years in the debris.

There was only one reason the pendant would go missing, and it was that Willow had taken it down and tossed it away.

Willow could hear the blame in

Jasper's tone. She put away her resentment for Samantha and looked up to meet Jasper's dark eyes. Her heart shuddered in fright.

en

His aura was just too powerful and intimidating.

An insignificant character like her couldn't possibly stand up to him.

Willow took a deep breath and suppressed her nerves. "Anyone would be angry to find out that they've been violated."

She had felt so angry and aggrieved back

She would've filed a

Police with the pendant if she

hadn't lost it.

Jasper stared at her. She seemed frightened and spoke softly.

Yet, Jasper could still hear the grievance in her tone.

An innocent young lady had been robbed of her first time. It was only natural for her to feel angry and aggrieved.

"Clear your schedule for tonight," Jasper said suddenly.

Willow was confused. "Mr. Hughes, am I working overtime tonight?"noveldrama

"We're meeting my family," Jasper said.

Willow was flabbergasted. "Meeting your family?"

Jasper said, "I told you I'd take responsibility. I won't go back on my word."
