Surprised by the sudden disappearance of the control window, Isaac remained motionless for a few moments before breaking out of his thought; Now was not the time to think, he had to act before the group was out of reach. And given their speed, once the forest they were heading towards, it would probably be impossible for him to find them. Without razing the forest that is.
Unaware of what had just happened, Isaac reactivated a new arcane and immediately left in the direction of the group which had continued to advance.
A few kilometers away, the group of figures continued their frantic race. Earlier, they had sent a magic probe to envelop the formation and try to know if the barrier had indeed been broken.
And to their surprise, it was. A barrier that dated back centuries ago had simply disappeared. Rebecca still remembered the stories her grandmother told her about the strange place that was hidden behind.
Many had tried to approach it. Kings, Emperors and entire armies had attempted to storm this place in search of treasures and magical artifacts. However, of all, none had succeeded and little by little, the tales and legends about this place praised it for its mystery and its impenetrability.
However, the barrier had been beautiful and well destroyed by a ray of golden light coming from inside the place? The news had spread throughout the village and soon the Elders decided to send their fastest soldiers to verify the claims.
The group did not expect anything from this expedition. There were many rumors and stories revolving around this mystical place, but few of them ultimately turned out to be true. Till today.
As Rebecca weighed the implication this had between what the Ancients would decide to do if they wanted to take advantage of this place and the strange ray that had destroyed the barrier. Many theories had been formulated on the use of this place.
A vault, a tomb or even a palace. None of these theories had yet been confirmed since no one had succeeded in getting in.
The young woman then began to smile on the thrill of adventure and the unexplored and gazing towards the rock formation, her gaze full of envy and adventure. Just then, before his eyes, a white luminous sphere appeared at the edge and jumped before changing direction forward ... towards them.
- "Louis! On the left, look" Rebecca shouted under the gusts of wind created by their running speed.
Immediately, the man turned then before widening his eyes.
- "Halt! Defense formation" he yelled in turn.
Immediately the group stopped, two stepping forward and getting daggers out, another in the center with a runestone and Louis with Rebecca behind, watching the energy bubble.
She had acquired some form of ease in sensing the surrounding mana vibrations and had been trained to identify her surroundings through them.
However, the form that was several miles away was emitting waves so intense that she could feel the waves of mana from where she was. Rebecca then took out a small piece of cut wood of thirty centimeters, resembling a wand, and gripped it firmly.

Seeing Rebecca pull out her favorite tool, Louis immediately understood that what they were dealing with must be dangerous. He turned his attention back to the white light coming quickly towards them and unsheathed a sword shining in the moonlight, his gaze serious.
They all got into fighting stance, ready to attack whatever came their way. Yet, as it was now a few hundred yards away, the light seemed to emit a sudden aura.
The dense energy aura made them feel uncomfortable and suddenly want to run, but none of them succumbed to it. Each of them gradually became aware of the monster in front of them, but it was already too late. If they tried to run away now, they would most certainly be dying and believing in luck. Neither of them wanted to bet their lives on a cosmic dice roll.
All ready to fight, the light then stopped about fifty yards ahead, floating in the air as if gravity did not apply to it. They narrowed their eyes slightly to try to glimpse through the light.
It was Rebecca who broke the silence.
- "He's ... a ... man ?!" she said aloud, inviting the others to confirm before they all opened their mouths in surprise and dread. "How can a man have such a powerful aura ?!" she thought before she could see the figure more and more.
Her wand then began to tremble and her open mouth closed. Her legs trembling, she stammered a few words with difficulty towards the others in her group who could hardly see in the light.
- "He's .... an elf. An elf! Louis, Marcus! Run!" she yelled before suddenly summoning a fireball about eight inches in diameter in front of her.
Shaken by the sudden declaration, it took a while for Rebecca's words to be heard by her comrades. Their eyes widened again but this time only fear and dread was visible on their expression.
Of all the tales and legends they had read, the elves were the most famous race. Noble, hauntingly beautiful and incredibly powerful, the Elves were the purest and most powerful race they knew.
Nonetheless, what was also described by the stories is what scared them the most. Of all the races, it was also the most withdrawn and the most mysterious. They never went beyond their borders and never interfered with the affairs of other races.
And that's what made them so terrifying. It was said that the day the elves came out of their forests, then the world would probably run to ruin. The reason why the elves would come out was certainly of such importance that not even the King could deny them passage. But it was above all the idea that the barrier had just been broken that crossed their minds and especially that of Rebecca.
"So this place sheltered an elf?" she thought before throwing her fireball and running.
Immediately, all started to run. They no longer had any intention of fighting or facing an elf. Let the universe throw in its dice, they would try their luck.
Isaac stood in the air, watching the panicked group. He had barely had a chance to stop and say a few words when a young woman began to scream with all her lungs.
"Well yes, I'm an elf. Shouldn't you be admiring my beauty rather than being afraid of it? Humans in this world are strange ..." he thought, looking at them before seeing the fireball forming in front of the young woman.
"Oh! A mage?" Isaac was very interested. Not because it was a new spell, but because she was very weak. Of all the spells he had been able to cast, all of his offensive spells were capable of at least destroying a house besides his flotation spell which was not really a spell but an effect of his aura.
He then watched them start to run, frowning. "Ah ... sorry guys, but I'm not going to be able to let you go" he thought. He then smiled slightly and placed his hand above him.
The fireball launched by the young woman then came to a stop 5 meters in front of Isaac and disintegrated in the air, being absorbed by his aura. A huge white arcana suddenly appeared in the sky about twenty meters above them. The arcane covered about thirty yards before it stopped growing, the lines now as thick as logs.
"A little overpowered ... but it will do the job", he thought before looking at the five people continuing their frantic race. He then opened his mouth and spoke aloud.
- "Lockdown"
