The Bloody Green Grass 2.2

The Bloody Green Grass 2.2

He looked at me as he tried to get my point, but he did not seem to know what I was talking about. "What is the Bloody Green Grass and what is its connection to all of this?"

"Look," I said as I gestured toward the guards. I noticed a green drop from the grass to the ground and continued: "The whole lawn they're standing on is made of Bloody Green Grass."

"Okay and-" said Rey, waiting for me to explain.

"It's a special grass that when a drop of blood falls on it, it starts to play loud noises like an alarm, and a small drop of blood is enough for the lawn alarm to work, so we can't kill them."

"Did you learn that from the book you read?" Rey asked.

"Yes," I answered with satisfaction. "You see it paid off." A few months ago, I started to read the book of galactic botany, or rather to browse through it and read only about the subjects and plants that interest me, because this book is too long. There are 12 main parts of the book and a number of other enrichment books on the subject, but I have only looked at the first two parts. Each part is made up of thousands of pages and the Galactic Botanical Book in its entirety purports to cover all the different types and species of plants that grow in all galaxy, although I assume that there are some very rare plants that do not appear in the book.

Luckily, when I browse through the first part, I remember finding information about the Bloody Green Grass. The book explained that the grass is very sensitive to blood and when the drop of blood of an animal or a person dripping on it, it begins to make loud noises, and suppose that when a burglar kills one of the guards, the grass will feel the guards blood and will absorb it immediately and make loud noises to alert the other guards. Therefore this grass is a very good means to a place that you want to keep guard and the only way to distinguish it is the small green blood drops that it secrete from time to time. Besides this, it looks like ordinary grass, and anyone who does not know this kind of grass will probably never suspect that the grass is actually a trap and another layer of defense in the guard.

"So why in first place you wanted to cut the guard's throat?" Rey interested. "I'm sure it would spill large amounts of blood."

"Because I noticed that the guard was standing on the Bloody Green Grass only when I approached him, just before you caught me."

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

"You have a sharp vision and distinction so I'd think you'd notice it before you even approache the guard," Rey said.

"Yes, but because of the bad weather conditions and the low lung conditions that are found at night, I could see a little green drop from the grass just when I was actually stepping on it," I reply. "That's his hallmark."

"Yes," Rey agreed. He thought for a moment as he gazed at the somber sky that seemed much more turbulent than a few minutes ago.

"We have to act fast," I said, adding apprehensively: "Maybe the guards already know that I escaped from prison and ..."

"They don't know," Rey interrupted me decisively, dismissing me.

"How can you tell for sure?"

"The alarm hasn't been activated so we can understand that they don't know you have run away."

"Maybe they found out that I had run away, but they know that if the alarm goes off, I know they're chasing me and then I will be ready for them, so they prefer to search for me quietly without causing a fuss or without I'll have any suspicion."

"You think too much about it," Rey said simply. "Believe me that I know that if they noticed that you or another prisoner had escaped from his cell then the alarm would have been activated, and even in the event that there was no alarm, I would still get an update that a prisoner had escaped from the Black Manor prison.

"Yes, I know," I said, accepting what he was saying. Still, he had been working here for a month and he must already know how the guards at the Black Manor were working. I guess he learned a lot more about the Black Mansion and about the people and guards who work there, and indeed the information he got while he was in the Black Mansion is very important and he has a lot of help for us, but right now it is not time to ask Rey what he learned about the Black Mansion.

"Soon the storm will come," I pointed out to speed up Rey's thinking. "And we should get out of the Black Mansion as soon as possible, the longer we stay here, the more we risk being caught."

He looked at me calmly and said, "Okay, I have an idea, stay here, and I'll be back in a few minutes."

"Where are you going?" I was wondering.

"To take care of the two guards in a different way."

"Okay, so I'm coming with you," I answered decisively.

"No, it made me worry enough that you had been deliberately caught by the elusive man's men to sneak into the black mansion and steal the object," Rey said anxiously. "I will not risk you again now when I can solve our problem and get us out of here in a much safer way. except for that, if the guards see you with me they will immediately attack us and there is no point in it."

"But what's your plan?" I asked curiously.

"Don't worry, I'll be back in a few minutes and then get out of this blooming place," he said sarcastically as he watched the black, oppressive turrets on the Mansion. "Just stay here."

He turned and started to move away from the tree we were hiding behind.
