Light goddess Liria was in a foul mood today, well it wasn’t just today actually, she was in a foul mood for the last 3 milleniums, but who would remind her that.
It definitely wasn’t because she was a sore loser...no...no...definitely not. It was just that light must always wins, yes that’s it. Even if it means that she must chea...erm...be extra creative sometimes, yes. Unfortunately, since that quite literally damned lich queen took power on the mortal plane, all her plans went wrong and her divine colleagues sneered at her and laughed behind her back. How dare they! She would show them all. If only one of her genius plan worked as planned.
Three years ago, she wanted to go down there and show that lich queen who’s boss, but the Kiran empire failed the summoning. Miria the goddess of darkness swore under oath that she had nothing to do with it and called her a klutz, but she knew better, it definitely must have been the force of darkness at play. She just didn’t understand yet how they did it, that’s all. Afterall, her divine sense should have been able to pick up interference of that level, it quite still puzzled Liria even after all this time.
Then, two years ago, she created a portrait of herself, so that she could spy on the lich queen evil plans though the eyes of her painting and thwart the root of all evil. She is the epitome of perfection, a painting of her should be the pinnacle of artwork and still, the lich queen was unsatisfied with it. She even dared to scribble on her painting before putting a drape over it. What foul taste, heresy I say. Now, no matter how she made her eyes glow, she couldn’t see past the darkness. It quite puzzled her again. The darkness must be too strong in this one.

Even the artifact that she created personally last year failed. It was supposed to blow up in her face and destroy everything Liria hated for the last four millennium, instead it now lays harmlessly in the lich queen vaults. The three times that she tried it in her realm, it made such a show of pretty light. Light is the strongest element of all and prevail over everything. Yes, her logic is flawless, but how did the darkness prevail this time. Liria didn’t know. Someone must have warned the lich queen in advance, yes that must be it, but...who? Liria didn’t know again. For she, the ¨all knowing light¨ not to know so much, Liria was beginning to feel dissatisfied with this outcome.
Now, she would definitively outdo herself this year, she would show to her divine colleagues that dared to sneer at her face that you can’t mess with light. Yes, she would copy her counterpart and she would create a champion. It might not have worked the last couple of times she tried to imbue divine power into mortals of her realm, but this time she would summon the strongest champion she could find in the outerworld. It was rumored that the beings in the outerworld were so strong that they destroyed their divinity. As a child, Liria was scared shitless of these being who worshipped science over divinity. Now, it would be the lich queen turn to tremble in her boots. Her logic is flawless, this time for sure light would prevail.
