3,000 Light-years from Earth: Shouts could be heard from the pantheons main entrance, an enormous black expanse 10 meters high, by 4 meters wide. The darkness seemed to ripple with power in rythm with the ever prevelant shouts housed within. The exterior of the humongous building made of Rose-Quartz to symbolize the unity of energies shaped into huge columns, not unlike those of the ancient Parthenon in Greece. Hulking black parabolah-esque shapes govern the upper most edge of the milky pink expanse of a building, like an overbearing shadow constantly reminding one that death is always near.
Two lone guards posted near the entryway were exhausted both dressed in resplendant platemail, one made from Obsidian, the other from Diamond crystals. Both sets of armor glistened in the low light exhuberantly showing the armor in as much detail as possible, allowing a passing observer to note the armor could only exist due to magic. These two men, if you could call them that had been posted in this exact spot for nearly two weeks now without sleep. The man in diamond tuned to his compatriot to discuss simple things to curb the boredom involved in this assignment.
"Hey Jackal, do you think they are almost done bickering like children fighting over sweets. This assignment is so thrilling I might fossilize before its over." Jackal in his techtonic plate armor turned giving the other a look of disapproval.
"I DON'T KNOW OSMAND! For the 3,242nd time I do not know." Jackal exasperated.
Osmond clearly not accepting the large hint offered by Jackal continues his tirade.
"All I'm saying is we've been here for two fucking weeks, if it wasn't for our energy boosting equipment we'd have died from sleep deprivation. As it stands now I'll die of boredom, I haven't touched a tit in two weeks Jack, I'm going though withdrawals!" Cried Osmand tears forming in his eyes.
Before Jackal could get a word in edgewise the immense force emminating from the boughs of the temple had ceased, causing both men to look into the darkness. There was light, and then there was nothing. Inside the temple of Heavan's Edge, the Gods are also discussing their boredom and discomfort. Unbenownst to the guards outside, who could not hear through the silencing enchantment carved in the foundation of the temple, the Gods shared their exasperation on a much grander scale.
Amidst a massive circular chamber images of constellations and planets are orbiting the interior, blinking in and out of existence. Eons passing as if they were mere seconds, but to the gods time had long since become a meaningless concept. Four members of a minor pantheon were conducting a meeting in secret. The rest were lazing about their own domains uncaring of the passing of their influence to younger gods.
The minor gods assembled were all vying for more territory from the Millenium Gathering, hoping to take spots from those of the upper echelon of gods. Among the present deities standing the tallest was Amarith the God of Blood and Wine. Nearest him sat Arelias the Goddess of Lust, even farther still stood Koris the God of Forrests and Wayward Adventurers. The most powerful of the group was Zorith'Khar the God of Pain and Analasys. These mighty beings felt their lives growing stagnant every eon it was the same thing destroy, rebuild, and wait in hopes that they will ascend farther up the pantheon ladder into the main pantheon.

To do so however required impressing the upper echelon of their society, and so once every 10,000 years a contest was held where the minor gods worlds would be pitted against each other for the fame of their gods. This tournament these four decided to work together on a single world, and then either bring inhabitants from other worlds to participate or design new beings, and let them grow organically. Though the latter option could take longer overall, all agreed it may yield better results. With a blood curdling roar Amarth shouts to his bretheren.
"DO YOU FOOLS UNDERSTAND ANYTHING?!"
Collectively startled the group looks to Amarith, confusion evident on their flawless faces. Arelias was the first of her peers to speak, her face stagnant and void of emotions.
"What seems to be the issue with our plan then brother, as far as I can see this tree will bear life most fruitfully."
The others nodded with nothing to add themselves only giving cursory glances at their hothead of a brother, they may be God's but they still feared his wrathful tendencies. Amarith unable to contain his rage as always decided to point out a flaw in their plan.
"They will grow weak and stagnate in pools of their own blood and feces. We need to throw in outside influences, and reasons for them to grow strong." he shouted.
Zorith standing idly by until now decided to show his brothers and sister a more recent plan he had been cooking up.
"Brothers!...sister, we should combine the influences of each of our domains, and combine them to stand a greater chance of ascension I have been studying a planet in my domain known as Earth, and the beings living there known as Humans. These beings afer much bloodshed, and struggle have adapted ways to cope with their miniscule, and painful existences."
"Get to the point already!!" shouted Koris.
"We may have forever, but that does not mean I wish to spend it with you".
Annoyed at the outburst, Zorith'Khar continued as if nothing had been said.
"These humans invented a thing they call "Video Games." These toys envelope the lives of over 65% of their population, so engrossed they are to get better than everyone else they forget the world around them. What I propose my dear siblings is a game.""
Unbeknownst to the people who would soon be a part in a major game for the fate of their worlds, a new world began to blossom from random space dust into a newly birthed planet. Gravity Magic exerting its pressure on tiny particles of dust, and other random molecules forcing them to fuse, forming a massive chunk of rock in the middle of empty space. Heat and compressed gas caused a Sun to burst forth from whence there was nothing. Water began to fill the planet as plants, and monsters began to ooze forth from the Primordial sludge. Soon those that walk on two legs, the beasts known as man would soon run amock on the once peaceful newborn planet.
Smiling and truly worn out each of the higher beings began to make their way one by one to their own domains. They had a feeling, an emotion previous unknown to these lower tier Gods. They were proud of something they created for once, and not just themselves. They pride no longer would be their bane, as they learned to work together on something they deemed more important than themselves.
