Prologue: In the Dark Depths

"Hah... hah... hah..."

My breathing is getting rough, and I'm starting to feel fatigue, my muscles ache and I'm also starting to get dizzy.

But I can't die now, I've already gotten this far.

I prepare to charge at the 20 feet tall four-armed obsidian skinned cyclops as I grip my platinum sword enchanted with lighting damage.

I dash forward and dodge an incoming downward slash from the cyclops by jumping on his arm.

Without sparing a second I run up the arm of the cyclops who had his axe stuck in the stone floor trying to pull it out.

I jump towards the cyclops eye and prepare to thrust my longsword.

I put all my weight in the attack that thrust my sword deep into the cyclops' eye, blood spurts out from the wound, I tightly grip my sword and pull it out before landing back on the ground.

The cyclops screams in pain and holds his wounded eye depriving himself of his sight, I take the opportunity and use my little remaining mana and chant to use [Gust].

I was propelled from the ground at an amazing speed by a powerful gust of compressed air towards the cyclops.

I aim my strike at the unprotected neck of the cyclops to deal the most damage I can in a single slash.

I start to chant as I get closer to my target, I finish chanting and immediately my sword was covered in dark violet flames as I felt my mana dry up.

I put all my strength in the attack and slash horizontally at the cyclops' neck, [Dark Flames] an advanced tier of dark magic combined with the strength of the slash from my platinum sword dealt damage many times more powerful than any of my normal physical attacks could acheive.

A fountain of blood erupts from the gigantic wound on the cyclops' neck as the sword cleaved its way through the cyclops' steel like skin.

The cyclops started to thrash wildly as he knew that he was nearing death.

As a result of my mana drying up, I felt nauseous and lost control of myself when I was about to land on the ground and ended up vomiting blood.

Shit! I can't move! The thrashing cyclops' arm was heading straight for me, shit! I'm done for.

An incredible amount of weight struck my entire defenseless body and sent me flying.

Then my vision went black.

.....

I opened my eyes and look around.

I was in a poorly lit room, made out of mossy stones, with a few magically lit lights to illuminated the hot and humid room.

On my right was a small chest containing a rusty iron shortsword which was basically useless.

I stood up an checked my condition, I was wearing nothing but rags on my body and I seemed to be in perfect health.

Damn it! I died again!

This just proves that I'm not strong enough yet.

How long have I been here anyway?

I don't remember anything before the time I was in this dungeon.

It doesn't matter, all I need to do right now is to get stronger and leave this damned place.

I look at the wooden door opposite of me, I walked towards it and pulled the iron door handle and walked towards the dark abyss before me as I once again head out to challenge the dungeon.
