He can't help but to think of feigning memory loss. After all, he has both memories of his life and the life of this body now. There will without a doubt be differences in the way he and the old Xiao Feng will act. Even if he wished to act like his life from earth, he can't do that either. The memories of this body will conflict with his as well. He could very well be said to be a different person from both of the two Xiao Fengs. However, the Xiao Feng of earth seems to be slightly dominating of the Xiao Feng of this world, as not only was he older by a few years of this body, but also his soul was transmigrated here. Xiao Feng can't help but sweat a bit thinking about the possible personality issues he might face in the future. That's a problem to be seen, however.
While he continues to be lost in his thoughts, the door begins to slowly creak open. The first person to enter the room is an older looking woman carrying a sack in one arm, along with a little spotted orange gecko sitting on her shoulder. Xiao Feng creases his brows, trying to recall if he knows this old lady. After not being able to recall, she must be the doctor that was hired to check up on him. When the two lock eyes, the old lady can't help but be a little startled. After the door is pushed completely open, a lady who looks to be in her twenties follows the older lady into the room. She seems to be extremely weak and frail, obviously from not eating and lacking of sleep. However, that doesn't affect seem to affect her beauty in the slightest. Her smooth flowing golden locks that droop down just past her shoulders, her big and round blue eyes that are slightly misty, and her flawless skin that is just a tad pale is completely stunning. Upon seeing this woman, Xiao Feng can't help but smile. Memories of her fill up his head, instead of the pain he had from earlier, all he feels is bliss, followed by loads of guilt. "Good morning, mother..." he whispers as tears start to form from his eyes.
Upon hearing those faint but audible words, the woman immediately shivers. Both hands covering her mouth, she trembles as the tears flow like a waterfall down her cheeks. "Feng... my little Feng... are... are you okay?" she says as she makes her way towards her son. Seeing this woman before him showing such loving care, Xiao Feng can't help but curse a little at the fact that Xiao Feng tried to kill himself. With such a mother, who cares about some Gaia Crystal? With the memories of his childhood continue to flow like a tide within his head, he can't help but walk towards this mother of his, taking a hankerchief from the nearby dresser, he wipes away the tears from his mother's cheeks. "I'm alright, mother. I... I'm sorry. I don't know what else to say. I just couldn't take it anymore. I couldn't keep letting you down... I couldn't let the family down, I felt like I was of no use, better off gone. I'm sorry."
He couldn't help but feel slightly guilty upon saying those words, after all, is he still that Xiao Feng? Is he earth's Xiao Feng? 'Who cares' he thought. This is his body now, and this is his mother. Whether he is Xiao Feng of this world, or earth's Xiao Feng, that is knowledge of his past lives. This is his world, but he has knowledge of earth, and knowledge of this world. Regardless of what he knows, this is his mother now, he thought. Embracing his weeping mother who hasn't yet called down, he signals to the doctor to take her leave.
After the lady takes her leave, Xiao Feng sets his mother down on his bed, and sits beside her while she calms down. After a few minutes pass, the lady wipes her tears away with the hankerchief one more time, and looks towards her son with a solemn look. "Feng'er. You never let me down. Don't every say that again. You are my son. I know you feel that way, but it's just some Gaia Crystal. If the clan pushes you down, your mother will leave the clan and take you with. Mother wishes you happiness. We can go to the country side, Contractors aren't that abundant. it is perfectly normal that you aren't able to be one. The majority of the population can't even get one! So, if you can't handle being in the Xiao Family, we will leave. I will speak with your father. He won't stop us. He wouldn't be able to anyway."
Hearing this, he can't help but sigh to himself. This mother of his would give up everything she has worked for her entire life just to help this miserable guy. "No, we will stay. Regardless of whether I can contract a Gaia Crystal or not, regardless if I am ridiculed, unless the family personally exiles me, we won't leave, mother. I won't hurt myself again. I promise, alright?" he said. Seeing her smile and nod, he himself lets out a slight smile as he stands back to his feet. Seeing her son stand up abruptly, the woman quickly grabs his wrist and quickly chides him, "Feng'er! You still need to rest. No more standing. You have been bedridden for almost three days now! Look at you, all pale and sick looking. I will have the kitchen make you something to eat. Also, have Grandma Che check on you. She came all this way, even if you aren't bedridden anymore, whatever you drank can't have fully left your system yet."

Xiao Feng can't help but frown a little on hearing that. That's right, how could that poison just disappear? He feels fine though. Maybe something to do with the transmigration? God's gift saying that he won't die after getting a second lease at life? After pondering for a moment, he gives a slight nod towards his mother, who was already at the door opening it. At a loss for words, Grandma Che enters the room and walks over to his side to take his pulse. After taking his pulse, she creases her brows and then moves the little spotted gecko over to his wrist. He can't help but flinch a little, but still lets the gecko crawl up his arm towards his shoulder. Upon reaching his neck, the gecko licks him. 'What kind of treatment is this...' he thought to himself, but he didn't dare say it out loud. After the gecko went back down his arm to Grandma Che, he lets out a little squeak towards her. After a slight back and forth between the gecko and old lady, Xiao Feng can't help but be a little baffled at the scene of gecko and human conversing. 'She must be a contractor...' he thought to himself.
"Miss Yu, little Xiao Feng seems to be devoid of any toxins, and his pulse is perfectly normal. Any toxin that couldn't be detected by this little guy wouldn't exist in this country, so I assure you he should be perfectly alright. I wouldn't even believe he was ever poisoned had I not seen him a few days ago." Grandma Che said to Xiao Feng's mother, Xiao Yu.
After hearing the verdict, she couldn't help but let out a blossoming smile. Quickly thanking Grandma Che, she turns to tell Xiao Feng to get a little more rest while she gets some food for him to eat. Apparently, he hadn't eaten since he was poisoned. Upon hearing that, he couldn't help but notice how starving he was. Nodding to his mother, he swiftly returns to his bed so not to upset his mother.
Not even fifteen minutes later, his mother returned followed by a petite little maid carrying a plate full of food. Seeing the assortment of colors and the delightful aroma coming from the platter of food, Xiao Feng takes a big gulp of saliva. Once the food reaches his bedside, he quickly thanks the young maid, despite her superb looks, Xiao Feng instantly picks up his untensils to dig in. Seeing that, his mother quickly gave him a little smack on the head. Stunned, he looks up at his mother. Upon seeing his confused look, his mother tilts her head and points to the maid. This only further confused him. 'I thanked her, didn't I? He thought. Seeing his mother not backing down, he takes another look at the maid. Or what he thought was a maid. The smile he had on his face from seeing the food instantly froze. 'Ai, this can't be my fault. My memories are still jumbled up. Even if I saw my own father, it would take a second, let alone someone who brought me food... aren't I a young master? I thought it was a maid' he thought to himself. Looking at the little lady who brought him food who is pouting her cherry red lips, Xiao Feng quickly scratches his head giving a "I'm innocent, I was very hungry" sort of look. "Pig." she said as she stormed off.
Stunned, he can only watch as the little lady slams the his door shut. Sighing, he looks back over to see his mother shaking her head. "Your sister was extremely worried about you these past few days, she hasn't even gone to the academy since you were bedridden. I can't help you here, son. Go find her after you eat. I will leave some silver for you downstairs, take her out to town today once you feel ready to get out of bed."
Seeing his mother about to leave, he bites his lip and musters up every ounce of courage, "Mother... could you talk to father for me...?"
"Hmm? What for?" she asks.
"I... I wan't to try contracting a Gaia Crystal again... I feel like something changed. I don't know what, but... I just feel something changed. So could you talk to father? He banned me from trying anymore afterall..." he said.
Hearing this, his mother can't help but frown a little. before she could speak, Xiao Feng quickly adds on; "this is the last time. I promise. I just feel like I can. Please." he said.
"Sigh... I can talk to him. But, even if he allows it, no matter what you can't be too upset if the outcome is the same, alright? It's extremely rare for someone to be unable to contract a Gaia Crystal right away and be able to at a later date, you know this. I will do my best, now eat up and go out with your sister." she said before she leaves the room shaking her head.
As his door shuts, and he's left alone with his food, Xiao Feng once more clenches his fist as he narrows his eyes. "This will be my new beginning in this world. Xiao Family, Scarlet Beast Kingdom, Blazing Phoenix continent, everywhere in this world, you will know the name Xiao Feng." he says in a mumble.
