"Higher beings these words are for you alone."
"No God can stop that which is rightfully ours, No Beast can defeat the intelligent, Mortality is the way to sanctuary."
"The Strong have weaknesses, The Mighty have loses, The Gods have fear."
"A wail from the Abyss brings trembling to the Realms, That which shan't be caged need not fear the layman's torture."

Mike had always been a quiet person, the man in the background seemingly fading out of being with almost everything about him being average, his height, hair color being dirty brown and slightly grayed on the side, and some light blue eyes. He lived a normal childhood, a normal teenage life, and he grew up to be just what you'd think, boring. For all of Mike's life that's how he'd always been.
Mike, as he had done for the last 20 years, came back home late and exhausted ready to take a shower and fall asleep only to wake up early to continue the cycle. As he lay down with no motivation to shower, only wanting to sleep, he closed his eyes and drifted away.
As Mike slept face down on his bed in his suit, the room around him trembled slightly, and before it had stopped a vast portal was ripped open beside Mike. In this portal that radiated an aura of ancientness were scenes of mysterious and amazing lands with beauty and impossibility as their foundation. One such scene was of many floating islands, some as small as a house to some as large as a continent, another was a large body of water that shifted positions constantly into strange and impossible ways. While sleeping this portal pulled Mike into it quietly, bringing him to an untold land.
As Mike awoke from a very well rested sleep, he shifted over to what felt like moss beneath his hand. Moving his hand and grabbing a little he realized it didn't feel like the fabric he used as a bed sheet. Opening his eyes wide and lifting himself up he looked around he only saw a very dim almost black light around him. Mike felt something wrong terrifyingly wrong in his stomach, looking up what showed was a trillion brightly shining stars staring back at him as if reflecting, showing his confused and terrified face at the situation he was in.
Sitting like that for who knows how long, as if to awaken him, a stiff and somewhat stale wind blew on him waking him from his stupor. Holding back every sense that told him to scream or run, he looked down at his shaking hands to grasp his reality, with a hard swallow and some mixing of heavy and light breaths he tried to analyze where he was and how he got here.

'Am I dead?' he thought with almost a whisper in his mind that seemed to make his skin crawl a little
'No' his feeling seemed to deny every thought that he was dead
Grasping for straws at what his situation was and to remove the creepy thoughts in the back of his mind he looked for a detail of his surroundings. Beneath him wasn't grass or dirt but moss, it was light green showing a healthy and soft glow with splatters of what seemed to be either special moss or strange curly plants and flowers that were glowing a soft and white light that along with the stars in the sky illuminated most of the forest, along with all what felt like these strange sights were towering trees with a color that could only be described as changing constantly into other dark or semi-dark colors due to the shading of them.
Knocked out of breath by a scenery that could only be shown in fairy tales he couldn't help but dumbly look at his surroundings that painted its own picture for him, hearing the chirp of small bugs and a small wind that brought out the smell of his surroundings, a smell of greenery and ancientness worked through his brain bringing him back to his body to continue to look for something that could help him figure out his situation.
Mike searched frantically with his eyes looking for something to be of help to him, but try as he might all there was, was a dim and mysterious atmosphere surrounding this forest.
"There's got to be someway I can get out out of this place." with what felt like a small terrified whisper to himself out loud Mike surveyed his surroundings once more as he slowly hobbled up from sitting like that for too long
As Mike looked for a direction that could take him somewhere, he found that every direction looked the exact same with the only difference being the flora. Picking up his shattered courage he timidly walked in a single direction searching every second, scared that he may lose his way.
Timidly, Mike walked onto a small stream. This stream gave Mike a small sense of relief as it gave him some hope for the future as he wouldn't die of thirst.
As Mike managed to sit next to the stream properly he looked timidly at his surroundings scared, making sure nothing was here he scooped up some water to see it was crystal clear. With big drinks Mike drank as much as he could until he felt satisfied. Having had his fill of water Mike started to bring up his thoughts again. This whole situation was impossible, what with waking up in a forest that didn't look like anything he'd heard of on earth. Unless he died, someone or something had pulled him into this place giving him a huge headache, though he doubted that someone could put him somewhere off the planet.
"What should I do know?" He whispered to himself a habit he had before ever coming to this place.
"I should stay around this area or go find something to eat " Mike said aloud no longer whispering to himself. With a new plan and still a lot of fear Mike began the start of an adventure he'd always dreamed of even if he himself didn't know it was.
