Ages ago, Apollo the God of Music created Symphonia, a world where music reigned supreme. The musical arts flourished in every kingdom, and his chosen musicians were known as Conductors. They were highly capable individuals that were granted the blessings of Apollo. A conductor is capable of leading both an orchestra and an army. They controlled the flow of the battle and struck fear in the hearts of their enemies as strategists without caliber. Every kingdom sought to employ their services or at the very least garner their favor.
Yet despite the occasional battle, Symphonia was a peaceful world. Disputes were largely contained through musical competitions. Humans lived in harmony with nature and animals alike, and the world reflected that with its lush greenery, sparkling clear water, and bountiful harvests.
However, one god despised music as weak and pointless: the God of War Ares. Ares wished for the clashing of swords, the splattering of blood, and the cries of death. Symphonia was far too peaceful for his tastes, so he plotted an uprising. He attacked Apollo and trapped him in an eternal prison, isolating him from Symphonia. However, Apollo was not an ignorant god. Seconds before his enclosure, he performed 2 tasks. First, he released the 9 Muses into the world of Symphonia to keep the world from devolving to a barbaric world of merely swords and bloodshed. In their dormant state, they would provide the inspiration needed for the arts. Second, he granted his strongest blessing to the most talented individual of the arts he could find, even if they were not natives of Symphonia. With that, Apollo was sealed away, and all his blessings other than his strongest one disappeared.

Symphonia underwent a rapid change in the 40 years after the incident hereafter known as the Lost Sound. Monsters grew more vicious and bloodthirsty, while the kingdoms were at a loss without their conductors. Many people lost their families due to the sudden change, and kingdoms were destroyed. After stabilizing the situation, humanity had only 4 kingdoms remaining: the Renaissance kingdom, Baroque kingdom, the Classica kingdom, and the Romanzen kingdom. A new peace returned for humanity, but the elderly who remember the wondrous world before the Lost Sound desperately wish for that time to return.
Meanwhile, in a quaint town in Japan, a baby was born with 2 peculiar birthmarks. On the back of his left hand was a lyre while the pupil of his right eye showed a music note.

Let me know what you think in the comments below. I was inspired to write this after reading lots of different works like Konjiki no Wordmaster and Forgotten Conqueror. It was also influenced by the little bit of musical background I had. I'll see if I can get another chapter or 2 out today to help bring the main character to light. My goal is to make this story engaging, comedic, and fun so please give me any constructive criticism necessary to do so.
