For the past month or so the research team in Antarctica has brought nothing of interest nor much Information on project Orbis.
Because the research team are members of the CIA, the Director of the CIA, Richard M. Helms, and President Nixion are discussing the lack of information from the research team.
“What’s with the sudden lack of Information from Operation Orbis in Antarctica Helms? Even though I had you be directly In charge of the whole operation, your research team has barely found anything.”
“I understand Mr. President but given the situation and location, we must be patient. As well as the researchers have been restricted in what experimentation they can.”
“Yes I understand that, but a month has gone by and they haven’t found anything new? If you’re restricted by budget or anything else, I’ll gladly assist, but I want progress first.”
“I’ll try my best Mr. President,” Helms says as he walks out the room.
0400PM ERT Time - May 8TH - 1969 - Antarctica - U.S Research Base
In his rather small room, sits the Head researcher, Thaddeus Burton, a British scientist that moved to the U.S after the Second World War.
“It has been a month since I’ve been assigned here at this research base of Operation Orbis, and It’s not been the most amazing month,” He says into a voice recorder.
“Even though I’ve been put in charge by Mr. Helms, I fear this month I won’t bring anything new as well, but luckily we’ve finally been permitted to do experimentation on live animals.”
He gets up from the chair and turns off the voice recorder and walks into the observation deck.
“Well, how’s it going so far gentleman?” He says.
“It’s going well so far sir, we’re about to begin with the experimentation,” A man says as he presses a button.
The door into the room where the Orbis is in opens and In steps a man holding a cage with a rabbit in it. As soon as he steps into the room, the door shuts.
Putting the cage down the man opens it and grabs the rabbit and pulls it out of the cage.
“Alright Victor, this will be the first time using live animals, so try not to fail,” Burton says through the Intercom into the room.
Victor proceeds to throw the rabbit at Orbis. Once the rabbit makes contact a brief flash of light appears.
“Another failed experiment huh… guess I’ll mark this as another failure…”
“S-sir, I may be wrong but, It seems to have gotten bigger…”
As Burton turns from his notepad and looks back into the room, he can see it has gotten a bit bigger.
“My! Finally, something of Interest!” Burton turns away back to his notepad. “I’ll have to call Mr. Helms later today-”
“N-no, sir! It seems to be expanding!”
As Burton turns back he can see that Orbis is expanding. As he watches as Orbis expands he can hear the ticking of a Geiger counter next to him getting louder.
“Its Radiation levels are Increasing drastically! We won’t be able to contain it if it continues!” A man shouts.
“Forget that, get that man out of there!” Burton shouts.
“The door won’t open, It’s malfunctioning!” A man says as he rapidly presses a button.
“Just sound the alarm!”
The sound of an alarm erupts throughout the base. Those that were watching or those doing something else slipped on hazmat suits Immediately.
“Radiation levels are Increasing, all available personnel get the door Into the Orbis room open and get that man free!” Burton says over the intercom.
A man runs up to the door with nothing more but a crowbar in hand and begins to lodge it between the doors.
Even though realistically, this won’t work, others quickly came to help him.
As they all attempted to force the door open, It opened just slightly to see inside the room.
Victor, who’s frantically freaking out, attempts to lodge his hand In between the open space.
Then, a bright light appeared from the room blinding everyone, even those from the observation deck became blind for a moment.
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
Once they could see again the door opens, revealing an empty room.
“T-the Orbis… It's gone… and so is… Oh, God…”
Burton slumps back onto his chair while holding a hand to his forehead, “I think I’m going to retire…”
Time - Unknown Date - Unkown Location - Unkown
On a forest floor In who knows where lies Victor, still in a hazmat suit. As he lays on the forest floor unconscious, a rabbit lays beside his head.
Then suddenly he wakes up, startling the rabbit causing it to run away when he sits up.
Victor looks around paranoid. “W-what in the hell, where the fuck am I!?”
He looks at his surroundings, large trees that tower over him, dozens of feet tall, small dirt hills surround him, strange fauna he’s never seen before. He backs away looking at his surroundings, but he soon trips over something.
Once he stands up he looks at what he tripped over, he had tripped over a bucket.
He looks around and calms himself down, “Well, this place doesn’t look like anywhere I’ve seen.”
“Alright, cmon Victor, you’ve gone through hell in Vietnam, you can do this.”
He takes off the top of the hazmat suit and ties the sleeves around his waist.
As Victor begins to move around the strange forest, he finds a rough-looking path. The path has some old wooden fence on the side of it. It’s an old stone pathway, it has patches of grass emerging between each stone.
He looks at the pathway, unsure which way to go. He takes out a compass from his shirt pocket, as he opens it but It’s not working as the arrow is randomly spinning around In a circle.
He closes the compass and puts it back into his shirt pocket. “Shit, well, I guess I’ll have to go off my gut.”
He looks at the path for a moment, before going what he presumes Is west.
As he walks down the path, he hears a strange noise ahead. Despite him thinking not much of it, he felt uneasy and hides behind a bush waiting for whatever is making the noise to pass.
Then suddenly, a horse whips past him with a man riding it. Once the horse and the rider are out of view, he steps up from the bush and continues down the path.
He continues on the path, but spots smoke nearby.
As he runs to the source of the smoke, he thinks to himself. “Maybe I can contact someone from the Army If those folks have a phone!”
As he runs through the thick forest of trees and bushes to where he sees the smoke, he stops himself as he makes it to a clearing of a cliff.
He looks at the site where the smoke comes from, multiple homes with chimneys as smokes arise from each one. Each house had strange architecture with each looking to be from the Medieval period.
All the houses surround a large fountain in the middle, where he can see multiple people dancing, drinking, and singing.
“Shit, am I even on Earth? Maybe the past?”
He walks away from the cliff, Instead, he’s going to find another way to this small Village.
As he walks down the forest again, he sneezes and puts on the top of his hazmat suit as a way to stop his allergies from the pollen coming off the trees. Once he puts the head part of the hazmat suit back on, he continues on his way.
He walks amongst the trees and large flora, he finds a father, his son, and a dog. The man hides behind a rock as the father seems to be teaching his son how to use a sword.
As the man talks to his son, Victor can’t understand what he’s saying. “Even though I’m a member of the CIA, I don’t even know what language they’re talking in…” He thinks to himself.
He tries to adjust himself to get into a better position, but he hears something behind him as he’s doing it. When he turned his head and sees the dog that must belong to the father and son.
The dog Is growling fiercely, he tries to get it to go away but to no avail.
The moment the dog starts to bark at him, he runs away, catching the attention of the father and son, and the father begins to run after him.
“Shit, I should have just gotten rid of this damn suit, I can barely run and see In this damn thing!”
As Victor runs through the forest, the man follows closely behind, shouting at him In an unknown language.
But, as he runs he trips on a rock and falls down a steep hill. After a while of falling, he lays on the ground exhausted and slightly hurt.
The man comes from nowhere and holds the blade of the sword to his throat. Victor keeps his hands up as the blade nears his neck.
The man seems to shout something at him, but Victor still doesn’t understand him.
Quickly examining his surroundings, Victor kicks the man’s foot, causing him to fall, allowing Victor to rise to his feet.
Before the man could get on his feet properly, Victor upper cut him, before hitting him again with his other fist, causing the man to fall onto the ground, seemingly unconscious.
As Victor catches his breath, he hears a child’s voice near, presumably the son of the man of which he just punched In the face twice, and begins to run away.
Once he makes it to an area he believes is safe, he takes off the hazmat suit and throws it onto the ground.
“Damn it, what the fuck was that guy’s problem! And why did he have a sword? Forget it… I just need to find somewhere to rest… and hide…”

“You’re telling me the entire research team doesn’t know what the hell happened!?” Nixon shouts at Helms.
“Well, It happened so suddenly many of the researchers still haven’t comprehended what had happened.”
“You’re telling me a man and Orbis just disappeared like that! And not a single person saw what happened!?”
”Well Mr. President, you didn’t let me finish. Even though Operation Orbis has failed, something In West Virginia might interest you.”
“Really? Well, let’s hope It’s better than the shit show report from Antarctica.”
“Well, I’d explain it to you, but I feel It would be better to rather show you In person.”
After an hour of flight and reaching West Virginia, Nixion and Helms are escorted to a large open field. Once they arrived, hundreds of military vehicles and thousands of military personal surround the large clearing.
Nixon and Helms walk towards where the center of activity is. As they both pass by a truck, they see what’s all the commotion is, a large swirling disk, similar to Orbis, but at a far large scale.
“What In God’s name am I looking at….?”
“We aren’t sure ourselves, but someone had called the police last night after spotting a strange light. When the police investigated the area that was reported, they found this. But how long It’s been here Is still unknown.”
“Do you know how large It is?”
“It was noted being 40 feet in width, and 20 in height, It’s over 5 times larger than one In Antarctica.”
Nixon left speechless by the site, simply took a cigar from his pocket, and began smoking. Helms just looked at him wanting to say something but stopped himself and simply sighed.
