“The fact is that we have no way of knowing if the person who we think we are is at the core of our being. Are you a decent girl with the potential to someday become an evil monster, or are you an evil monster that thinks it's a decent girl?"
"Wouldn't I know which one I was?"
"Good God, no. The lies we tell other people are nothing to the lies we tell ourselves.”
― Derek Landy, Death Bringer
In an unknown region where mortals cannot go, a man sat on a throne of light. In a palace made of white and gold. The man was tall, standing at nine feet. Wearing both robes and armor. Flowing Robes of white and gold covered celestial steel armor of black and silver. The robes hid his armor well, not revealing a hint of celestial metal. The man is handsome too, too handsome to be a mortal man. Possessing a chiseled jaw and hair of gold, with eyes of pure gold as well.
The man surveyed the state of the multiverse with greedy eyes. Eyes that can see beyond his domain. He studied the universes where his influence has spread and grown. Giving him a foundation of power and control over the mortals who worships him. The man smiled in satisfaction because his plans are soon coming to their climax. Plans that he has been implementing for eons. This man was more than a man, he is a god.
A god of great power and ambition, and it is his ambition that has seen his plans progress thus far. Now, they are in their final phase. The god smiled and although the smile made his handsome face brighten. The smile was cruel to look at, it would not comfort anyone to see it.

“In just a few short decades, the multiverse will be mine. No god or devil can stand before me now.”
The god said to himself. He was confident in his victory. It had taken the god many centuries to get where he is. His goal was just in sight. A few more decades and he would achieve true power. He had lied, tricked, stolen, killed, and did everything to achieve his goal. And now, all the deceit and treachery were about to pay off.
“If only she was still here to see me gain ultimate power. I would have forced her to kneel before me and lick my boots.”
The god sighed at the fantasy. He had slain her long ago. He had no choice, she was too powerful, too dangerous.
“Ah well, it is better this way.”
The god went back to surveying the multiverse. His eyes were on a particular universe, on a particular galaxy called the Milky Way. His gaze fell on a familiar blue planet. One with blue water and green vegetation. This little blue ball in the multiverse is key to his plans. The other gods are unaware of this realm. By the time they notice this world, it will be too late.
“No one can stop me now.”
The god stated with satisfaction. He will soon learn that such challenges will not go unanswered.
