After a hearty breakfast, I was ready to get back to my daily hunts. But first, it is time to name my sword.
As I have said before, I am terrible with names, so I needed to choose a name from the many I've heard in stories about swords. Out of all the options in my head, I was inclined to go with Galatine. This is a sibling sword to Excalibur, and is said to be just as good.
To be completely honest, I wanted to name my sword with an Eastern name, such as Muramasa, Onimaru, Kusanagi no Tsurugi or others. Unfortunately, since my sword is of the Western style and not a katana, I decided to go accordingly.
However, yesterday I had a strange dream in which I became bald after training hard in the forest and killing all the monsters that appeared in front of me. Even though I woke up startled while checking the hair on my head, I had an amazing idea for a name, One-Cut Sword. Just like a certain bald hero with a red cape, my sword can defeat my opponents with a single strike.
Honestly, I quite liked that name.
"Well, that's it."
Standing up, I put one hand on my waist, unsheathed my sword with the other hand and pointed it at the sky.
"From now on, your name will be One-Cut Sword!"
Doing the same as me, Rin raised her club, imitated my posture and started making goblin sounds.
Not wanting to be left out, Kurama started hopping on his hind legs.
Taking advantage of their excitement, the three of us set off immediately. Today's goal was the goblin colony we saw yesterday.
Since many of them are probably injured, I don't want to give them a chance to recover.
Going by the river, the route I considered the safest, we proceeded with caution. Even though we are stronger now, carelessly walking into the middle of several enemies is still dangerous.
During the way we followed the river shore, we did not find a single opponent. Even when we entered the forest, whether wolf or goblin, we didn't see a single sign of life besides a few small monkeys in the trees.
Only when we cautiously approached the battlefield of the previous day did we find some goblins with their bellies protruding. They were munching on the remnants of the battle.
There are seven goblins...
Hiding among the trees, I looked at the surroundings and analyzed the situation. As there are no more enemies in sight, this is in our favor.
Since before we reached level 10 we could handle that number, now it should probably be even easier.
"Guiii! Guiii!"
Before my order to advance, Rin let out shrill cries as she showed herself to the goblins.
She raised her arms as she held the club and made a threatening stance.
The instant they heard the scream, the goblins seemed to falter momentarily.
If I had to kick, she must have used her new skill, Cry of Intimidation, but since goblins don't feel fear, it wasn't very effective against them.
While I continued to hide and analyze the situation, Rin used Sprint and charged towards them without waiting for my order.
"Hey! Don't be careless!" I yelled from behind the trees.
With One-Cut Sword in hand, I ran after Rin, but it seems I worried for nothing.
Meeting the first goblin who didn't show the slightest intention of attacking her, she struck him so hard that I could hear the sound of breaking bones.
It was no different for the second and third. As for the rest, she dodged their clubs easily and defeated them with sharp blows to the head. Even though she lost her balance after each blow, it was not enough to compromise her safety.
"They couldn't even react, that was quite oppressive... And I didn't even get a chance to take action."
As I approached, Rin raised her arms and shouted triumphantly.
She seemed to be trying to show her worth while reproaching me for giving her a punishment.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
But even though she has shown great battle prowess, I need to scold her again.
"It's great that you're strong, but you shouldn't act rashly or let out random shouts, that would only draw unnecessary attention."
While she had a expression of being wronged, I continued.
"Should you act like that again, you will receive another punishment. If you don't want that, just follow Kurama's example, he doesn't make any noise and waits for my commands."
After being reprimanded, she threw a deadly glare at Kurama who was hiding between my legs.
Although I didn't know the exact reason, I could clearly sense that Rin was stressed.
I thought it might be something like PMS, but according to the glossary, goblins don't have PMS. However, females do have mood swings during the mating season.
Hmmm, I think I'd better smooth things over a bit.
Moving closer to her, I stroked her head, "If you behave, I'll let you eat as much as you want."
As if those were magic words, the sulky expression on her face disappeared and she jumped on me while rubbing her head against my chest.
With Rin calmer, I looked around just to see if there was any more prey, but no other goblin appeared.
As this was the case, we started to move around the periphery of the colony and not long after, we spotted a greasy boar.
The last time Rin faced one, she couldn't finish him because of his thick layer of fat. However, this time she is much stronger and I wanted to see how strong her blows were.
Touching Rin's shoulder, I said, "Now is your chance to show how strong you've gotten."
Without wasting a single second, she shot up to the boar.
Due to her speed, the boar only noticed her when she was very close and because of this, he was unable to react.
With a sharp blow, she hit his head with a blow strong enough to make the club shatter into pieces.
Due to the impact, the boar staggered to the point of almost falling, but still managed to stand upright in a groggy state.
"It seems that although it didn't have an exposed wound, the blow was effective," I muttered as I pulled a club out of inventory and threw it at Rin.
However, before the club reached her, she had already picked up another weapon.
Lifting a stone that was at least three times larger than her own head, she used Heavy Blow to strike the boar's head.
With a huge bang, the stone cracked in half, but as a result, the boar fell to the ground.
Nevertheless, from the way his legs were moving in an attempt to get up, he is still alive.
It seems that his thick layer of fat is not just for show.
Taking one of the halves of the stone that cracked, Rin used the sharp part and hit the boar's head again.
Although she wounded him, it was still not enough to kill him. But with relentless attacks, she kept delivering repetitive blows that pierced the thick layer of fat.
In the midst of Rin's merciless assault on the boar, my line of sight inadvertently drifted.
Although Rin's front commission was tiny and did not suffer from gravity, due to the force of each impact she made when hitting the boar, her tiny mounds trembled vividly.
Reminding myself not to get excited over a female goblin, I managed to contain my gaze.
In the end, the boar could not withstand the torrent of ferocious attacks and succumbed.
As I continued to watch from afar the result of Rin's brutality, she came running up to me.
Since she wanted a compliment, I did her bidding, which made her extremely happy.
Somehow, she just looks like a child.
After that, while staying on the outskirts, we found three more small groups of goblins that were gorging themselves. Due to their low numbers, they presented no difficulty in being killed.
As the smell of the bodies from yesterday's battle spread through the forest, a few more boars were attracted. Since it was a good opportunity, I took the opportunity to see how Kurama fares against them.
However, even with twice the level, Kurama couldn't even kill one. During the fight, he had no trouble hitting his attacks and even managed to leave several deep cuts, the problem was how to finish his opponent.
Since Kurama was not large, the boar's thick layer of fat prevented him from being able to finish it off with his fangs.
It seems that a strong defense can compensate for the difference in level.
In the end, I had to kill the boar and comfort the sad Kurama.
On the next boar, it was my turn, just like Rin, I used a club to test my strength. But the result was the same as in Rin's first fight against a boar, no matter how hard I hit it, I didn't do any damage.
Although I broke a few nuts due to the strong blows, none of them left the boar in a groggy state.
It turned out that I had to finish the fight with the One-Cut Sword.
Interestingly, after I left looking defeated, Rin tried to cheer me up the same way I did with Kurama.
It's just my guess, but after evolution, she seems to have gotten smarter.
As for the rest of the boars we found, I sliced them up without delay. With my One-Cut Sword, it was easy and fast, which saved us time.
As we did not find any more prey after continuing to search the periphery, we slowly approached the goblin lair.
When we got close enough to see the goblins, my mind had a brief delay before I could understand what was happening.
"Holy shit!"
Despite my surprise, I managed to contain my scream and curled up in the bushes.
Following my movements, Rin and Kurama did the same.
What the hell is going on here?! Did I see it wrong?
Although I am not sure, there is only one way to find out.
Opening a gap between the leaves, I confirmed that my eyes had not deceived me.
Not far away from me, the biggest orgy I have ever seen in my entire life was taking place.
