Chapter one

I selected "no" and pulled open the dungeon menu.

What was on it showed very little besides the two choices and a dungeon map. That was ok I had already taken into account this might happen. The dragon veins were a way of cycling magic into the manacycle.

The order of which is: dragon vein breathes out mana, mana enters living beings, living beings create magic which then eventually turns into dragon vein. The dragon veins are the building block of life and fuel that is needed to make magic. They were also a living being in Their own way.

The goddess created the dragon veins, they were sorta like her first children. So I can imagine what her reaction was when I practically killed one of her children and inserted my soul into it.

Anyway not that it matters.

Back on topic

Right now my core is sitting at the very bottom of a humongous cavern. If I could compare it to something on earth it would be a mixture of Son Doong Cave in Vietnam and Mammoth cave in the United States.

"Hello!? Marushi is talking to you!"

Eh? Oh sorry what was that last part?"

"You need to start working on your dungeon!"

" Ah right! About that…"

I explained the circumstances to marushi.

" What!!! But how are we even going to get started!"

Don't get your panties in a knot. I got us covered. Relax girl!

With that I turned to a alcove I had made during my work period. Inside was a stone bed, tables, chairs, food, tools and, rows upon rows, upon rows of samples of every creature and minerals I could gather together upon the world. I worked to absorb them and began breaking down their components to learn their blueprints.

Then I hit a problem.

Marushi, do you have to have the entire specimen in order to learn their blueprints?

"Yes, why?"

We got a wee bit of a problem...

"What do you mean we have a problem?"

I explained our current circumstance

I can't make any monsters because of the lack of full bodies.

"So you're saying we can't use the creation menu and you can't create any monsters due to your lack of fully intact specimens?"

I assumed that it would only take a few components to make them.

"So you pissed off the goddess, had your monster menu taken and somehow assumed that missing almost the entire structure would be able to create a three-dimensional puzzle?"

Err yeah that's about it…

The author's narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

The fairy dropped down to the ground and curled up into a ball.

"This is it… marushi's stuck to a massive unless hunk of rock. Chained for an eternity wasting away...hic* sniff*"

I felt terrible.

Damn if only there was any way of making dungeon monsters. Is there no way? Damn it. If only I could just create my own monsters from my mind.

Wait. Hold on. No. That won't work. not unless I have the blueprints. But, wait hold on. The dragon veins created all life right? They had no bluebrints. I'm basically just a dungeon/dragon vein right?

I was a 3D artist that worked for a company on earth that studied everything mythical, archaeological, famous modern urban legends. I also created indy games as a hobby.

"Aren't I just a basic 3D printer?"

What if I just...hmm yeah that one might work I remembered one of the small fry from a certain mmo. I focused on the details bipedal, fishlike, fish like mouth full of razor teeth. Green color one, this one carries a serrated spear. Blue stripes. Aright done. Just push a tiny bit of mana.

Then a flash of light and a loud;

BANG

"Iyaaaaaaaaaaa! What was that!?"

Cooool it worked!

In front of my core stood a five foot hunched over mur'gul with a serrated spear. It looked around for a moment then noticed a large cave pond without a care in the world dove right in.

"What did you do? How did you create him? I thought you didn't have any way to make monsters?"

She flew over the lake where the mur'gul sat with it's head on the surface of the water. It didn't bother with the curious fairy just continued to just sit and wait for something.

Perhaps I should give it a purpose before I make it?

"Speaking of I don't think I've seen a monster like-"

BANG*

"IYAAAA! GAAAAH!! WILL YOU CUT THAT OUT!!"

I can't. it just happens.

"Happens? Happens why!?"

I create the creature, a flashbang happens and poof, monster.

The new monster seemed to be more intelligent than its counterpart because as soon as it was created it seemed to look at the fairy as if it was saying 'quit yelling we can hear you just fine'

The fairy continued to freak out.

"Marushi asked how you created such a monster?!"

Geez so loud. And why do you refer to yourself in the third person.

"Answer marushi now!"

"Jeez ok, ok. look so I remembered how dungeon veins were the creator of all life, and my past life kinda revolved around creating things and just thought I could do the same here"

" So you're basically a god. " She whimpered.

I guess…

I shrugged my metaphorical shoulders.

Might as well start there.

The map showed every room and tunnel like a 3d hologram. The map treated the cave as three floors. Basic start. those floors had at least fifteen rooms each, if that is you considered these minuture Kingdom sized rooms as a regular cave room.

Right now they were a blank slate. Very dull. Lack of...well everything.

Let's see. Got plenty to places choose from....

Time for makeover let's start on the first floor. That theme should the first floor be maushi?

"Marushi grew up in a wasteland so something exciting. Like….like...ah I know! A jungle!"

Jungle huh? The entrance was a jagged crack situated under a round oak overhanging a small ledge in the middle of a field.

I took a look at my first room. the entrance was angled had several turns then came into the first room on a slanted water fall.

I tried to think of what I could do to make this look like it belonged in a jungle. I remembered several games that had glowing mushrooms and thought it would look nice here. I began imaging a glowing cap mushroom with several tentacles hanging down from it. Then with a slight pop it sprang into being. Yup still brings me awe about how much detail the devs put into just a single flora... or fauna I guess. Still it looked like it would be nice decorating the walls of the room and lighting up the waterfall. I put clumps of them on the walls and near the edges of the river.

I used analyze on the glowing mushrooms.

Glowing Stinging Glass Mushroom.

This mushrooms blue glow causes prey to become dazed and charms the target to come closer. Then as the target enters under the cap, the mushroom latches onto the target and rips into it's flesh as if it was a glass knife through butter.

Armor does not save you from the bite of the mushroom.

Wait, what? Did the system just modify my glowing mushrooms?
