“Class selection is one of two factors that primarily determines one's path. Beyond providing class skills, it is the primary method for people to gain raw power or stats. Therefore picking a poor or lesser class will lead to being stuck at a bottleneck permanently. However, the opposite is also true: those who inherit or possess strong classes advance far and fast. And those true geniuses, well they got more than just a class to back them up.”
Artificer Dragulius Dirtmeyer 27th Era.
The first thing that immediately became apparent upon opening his class choices was how many more he had. Instead of the four options he was expecting due to his previous selection, he had hundreds of thousands at the very least.
There were only a few that he could currently see. The remainder seemed to be hidden behind extra tabs or something of that nature. Otherwise, he doubted he could have seen or understood any of the information provided. Seeing as there were so many, he wanted to avoid going through and categorizing each one.
Hoping that once again the MMOs from back on Earth had the system pegged he searched for a filter of some kind. After a little bit of searching, he finally came upon a button with what looked like sliders on it. Crossing his metaphorical fingers, he mentally clicked the button, which brought up another window.
On that window, a rather basic question appeared:
Pick a class archetype
Combat. Profession
Note you can only select one.
He was initially confused by the window but quickly understood what it was asking. He discarded the profession class as it just wasn't viable for him. Which, naturally, left only the combat class
When he selected “Combat” the screen disappeared. Then, seemingly after a couple of seconds of calculations or buffering -- he couldn't be sure -- another screen appeared.
Would you like to view classes you do not qualify for
Yes No
This time the choice made him pause slightly longer than the previous one. He was certainly curious about all the potential class choices, but considering the sheer amount of classes there were, there was no conceivable way that he could go through them all within the limited time he had. He also didn’t want to get bummed out over potentially insanely powerful classes he didn't qualify for.
Choosing “No,” the screen disappeared and another one replaced it.

Seeing the rarity and ranking system put into context how, well, shit his first class was. Sure, the stat points were nice but most of his points came from his titles and legacies. His class on the other hand provided almost nothing. Knowing this he easily decided to exclude the common rarity class.
After he selected the option to remove it another screen appeared showing his options.

Fire Mage
Lightning Mage
Spellsword
Gobin Butcher
Monster Hunter

Another difference from when he first selected a class was the number of classes. The first time around he had 4 choices. But this time there were 10. Although he didn't have a truly difficult time deciding which class to pick between the four original choices this time was looking to be a lot harder. To make his life easier he decided to eliminate some classes based on their names.
First, he removed the Mage classes. Frankly, he had no interest in becoming a pure mage. His ability with the blade would be nice and useless with that type of class. It also just didn't fit him.
Finally, he removed “Goblin Butcher.” Although it had a super cool name, he didn't really want to specialize in killing green things. There was also the fact that specializing in a certain enemy type felt like a way to get killed quickly.
So, with the options he definitely didn't want to be removed he decided to look into each class a little bit more.

Elemental Bulwark: Rank Novice
When walls break, shields crumble to dust, and everything else has failed, this skill will step up. Elemental Bulwark: allows the user to create solid physical manifestations of elements they are aligned to. Although these physical elements can’t be made into weapons, their true use is in defense. Elemental Bulwark allows the sword of the Aspiring Sword of Elementals to survive the blows that would cripple lesser classes.
Elemental Burst: Rank Novice
If the Elemental Bulwark is the shield of the Aspiring Sword Elementals, this skill is its sword. Elemental Bursts allow the holder of the skill to release Elemental Spells at a significantly reduced rate.
Dragons Breath: Rank Novice
The Ultimate skill of the Aspiring Sword of Elementals, this skill takes a tremendous toll on the body; as a result it can only be used once a day.

Unkillable Untiring Killing Machine: Rank Novice
When others would have died, you just take a scratch. The blows you take would be fatal to others causing ruptured organs and internal hemorrhaging but to you, they're but a flesh wound. Yet your body is not just an unbreakable wall; it is also a blade causing as much damage as it can take.
With this skill, you can cut through your enemies not like a scythe through wheat but like a laser through butter. In addition, this skill passively increases the holder's durability and survivability. The skill also slightly decreases the cost of other class skills.
Kinetic Absorption: Rank Novice
You scoff at blows that can shatter mountains, strikes that can split the skies in twain.
The holder of the skill can absorb the kinetic energy of a blow, storing it for later use. When the user wishes they can then release the stored kinetic energy to a devastating effect. However, this skill is not without penalties. Each time the holder of this skill uses it they must pay a hefty toll in mana.
Mana Avenger: Rank Novice
When your blade is shattered, your fists eroded from your blows, you still have this skill. This skill allows its user to greatly enhance the power of spells they have cast for an increased cost in mana. In addition, if an empowered spell kills an enemy, a portion of the mana used in spell creation and the remaining mana within the enemy is returned to the user.
The Final Strike: Rank Novice
The Ultimate Skill of the Blade of Ruin, this skill takes a tremendous toll on the body; as a result it can only be used once a day.
This is the Blade of Ruin's last gambit. When all else is spent, when there's nothing left in the tank, this skill will be used. The skill is simply an unparalleled strike, but, as a result, if the user activates it too late and is in too much of a weakened state, this skill sends them into immediate unconsciousness.

The Art of Destruction: Rank Novice
No longer shall your blows glance off your enemy's armor. No longer shall your armor break. And no longer shall your weapons falter. With this skill gain an intuitive knowledge of the fighting style of the art of Destruction. Beyond the martial expertise that the skill grants, it also grants passive durability and damage increase to all held items.
Cataclysmic Blows: Rank Novice
Where other chaps’ blows can merely shatter rocks, yours can level a nation.
The holder of the skill can pour mana into an attack. As a result, the force behind the below will increase by orders of magnitude, making the strike practically unstoppable.
Destructive Nova.: Rank Novice
The first ultimate skill of the Disciple of Destruction, this skill takes a tremendous toll on the body; as a result, it can only be used once a day. Upon activation, this skill consumes all available mana within the user's body. That mana is then multiplied and propelled outward over a large area.
Death's Embrace: Rank Novice
The second ultimate skill of the Disciple of Destruction, this skill takes a tremendous toll on the body; as a result, it can only be used once every two weeks.
Destruction is a messy business. With this class, injuries do not just accrue from your foes but from yourself. As a result, Death's Embrace is a vital skill for the Disciple of Destruction.
When the user would have otherwise died, this skill is triggered. The skill brings the user into the death plane. Upon reaching the death plane the user is completely revitalized with all their health, mana, energy, and skills -- except for this one -- refreshed.
Once fully recovered, the user is sent to the moment after the hit that would have otherwise killed them. However, due to the transportation to the plane of death, the user is magically disoriented for 2 seconds.
Be wary as this skill, unlike other ultimate skills which can only be used daily, can only be used once every two weeks.
He certainly had his work cut out for him deciding which class to pick. However, he sure as shit did know one thing: He was not going to be picking “Monster Hunter.”
