Welcome to Doveshire Village.
A small, quiet and peaceful village, at the corner of the kingdom.
Walking leisurely, you could cross the whole town on no more than ten minutes. On your way, people would greet you with unworried smiles and, maybe, you would stop to chat a little, about easygoing matters like weather and how their family is doing.
Or maybe you’d feel like eating something, and how wonderful it is that this village’s market has such fresh and tasty-looking fruits on display. Feeling satisfied, you’d walk by this building, an inn more specifically, that looks neat and cozy and very much like your own home somewhere far away.
You’d probably think about this village’s warm atmosphere and that it would be nice to stay a little longer. So, you’d check in at Sunrest Inn and enjoy the fine cuisine and savory drinks.
Maybe you will never know that the one serving your wine is the once feared Faceless, first class assassin that suddenly vanished some years ago. Or that the one chopping wood outside is the former Captain of the Royal Guard, creator of the capital’s darling Thousands Leafs Sword Style.
Because it’s a secret, let’s not tell you about the Fairy Queen guiltlessly drinking beer right there in the corner, or that there is a High-Elf just across the street. Well, we will also not mention mankind’s greatest hope, the illustrious Magic Swordsman of the Four Blessings, that seems to be un-heroically drunk somewhere around here.
And although we are not allowed to say much, take a note at the pretty lady in the balcony. Just a friendly hint, be careful around her.
This is Doveshire. Just like any other village across these lands, with the tiny exception of its inhabitants.
So, welcome. Make yourself at home. You’ll notice that, on the whole continent, this is the safest place to live.
Or, depending on of how you see it, the most dangerous one.
> A/N: this is just the prologue and therefore very short. An appetizer, let’s say that way. The other chapters will be longer, worry not. Thanks for reading! (PS.: English is not my first language and I don’t have a editor. Feel completly free to point mistakes, but please don’t be mean.)
