Health Potions
- Originally developed and discovered by an alchemist and beast tamer named Dr. Baron
Upon his initiation and study of beasts and monsters for a long time, he was a pioneer in carnomancy, and utilised monster corpses and their reactions to certain compounds in an attempt to figure out as much as he could.
this allowed him to figure out the now known principles of carnomancy and medical alchemy, which at the time consisted merely of ointments and creams used to combat diseases or relieve pain.
Discovery:
As Dr Baron started his study in a new field of beasts dubbed “shapeshifters”, this including from the simple slime to the doppelganger and the odd mimic, in which he discovered an odd reaction that occurred when the “shapeshifting flesh” was exposed to acidic environments.
This exposure would cause said flesh to cling to almost all living matter and partially fuse, Dr Baron noticed this reaction due to his wooden utensils sticking unnaturally and seeming to have grown, along with having a mass of purplish red mimic flesh forming tiny bubbles on his leather gloves, making them softer and more “alive”.
experiment log:
experiment 1 - reaction: He proceeded to test this reaction and the “flesh fusion” on a variety of small animals and the occasional neighbourhood kid that came to him with a bruise or cut to be treated.
Results: Although not the most ethical decision he did notice the flesh had such a high degree of fusion and assimilation that it was almost indistinguishable in those small scratches and only appeared to have a visible difference on large patches that would then disappear over the course of about a week or the time it would generally be needed to heal the affected region, suggesting that the tissue replaced would eventually be substituted by "regular" flesh.

Experiment 2 part 1 - production and storage: the flesh although seeming very potent and quite useful seemed to have one fatal flaw, an extremely short shelf life of less than 3 hours where it would quickly wither and dry out, attempts were made to prevent this by keeping samples of tissue under water to observe if it could be preserved longer with no success.
a solution was later discovered by observing the symptoms experienced by large consumption or use of this tissue, an extreme need for energy, in any form possible, that could be resolved by adding sugar, alcohol, fat or grease to the mix, the last two examples showing positive results in the preservation process but causing a much harder time in application or consumption
experiment 2 part 2 - consumption and use: As a way to measure the possible dangers of the use of this new found miracle drug he forced animals to eat/drink the flesh mixed with sugar or alcohol/sugared water, these studies revealed that it was safe to consume and would be absorbed by the body giving similar regenerative results, with the effect starting in the torso, followed by head, legs and only then would heal any injuries in one's arms.
he also found out this mixture had a limit only healing about 2 inches or less around the original flesh and seemed quite stubborn on recovering anymore of the injuries suffered past that and that large consumptions of this new product would cause fatigue, also mental but mostly physical and weight loss along with possible nausea and passing out for a few seconds after its consumption due to a sudden weakness.
As any man of science he did not stop here and used this same item for one more experiment...
Experiment 3 - alternative uses: having convinced a weak boy that suffered from leg problems since birth that he could help him, he numbed the boys legs with some ointments and slowly made cuts across the boys legs avoiding major veins and arteries but severing the muscle in several areas before using the now partially understood potion to recover and fill the gashes he had made to the boys legs.
After a 2 weeks of rest the boy seemed to have recovered and seemed to have gotten stronger as he saw he could now keep up with some of the boys, he did seem to have lost a large amount of weight and seemed to have been famished during the 2 weeks he spent recovering along with a much later noted secondary effect that the changes hadn't been permanent and the boy seemed to have lost his new strength after about 6 months
