The Blood of Survivors
Prologue: A stream of red

Prologue: A stream of red

Greedily it sucks them dry,

A stream of red before they die

Soft pain radiated through his neck as two delicate sharp incisors pierced through rough, dirty skin and into the warm flesh beneath. Blood vigorously pumped through the punctured veins and was rapidly sucked up by this ravenous creature, eager to drink as much of this vital liquid as was possible. A muffled scream died down as the victim in its grasp slowly lost the power to resist and collapsed onto the ground. Then a couple of moments later two beautifully shaped, crimson red lips parted from the now pale and cold flesh of the dead boy. The stunning creature licked its lips and rose up on its feet, its pale complexion highlighting the blood-red stains on its face and the gorgeous red eyes darting around as it searched for the next bag of juice she could satisfy her thirst with.

The vampire’s complexion was beautiful beyond comparison, so much so that it could put even the proud elves of the southern forests to shame. It was a deadly allure that had a similar effect to a succubus’s sensual exterior, captivating and pleasing the gaze until their victims died without mustering even the slightest resistance.

She smiled and her hand smeared across her pale cheeks, removing some of the spilled blood which she then joyously licked off her palm. Her eyes flashed and her dark, shining pupils contracted as she noticed a tiny movement underneath the wooden boards of a nearby building. The joyous smile on her tender lips widened and she laughed out before pushing her legs against the ground underneath her in a swift unhurried motion. Despite the seeming lack of strength behind her action, it pushed her off the ground, and she flew towards the place where she had noticed the young woman who was desperately hiding underneath the terrace of the small village cottage.

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

She moved soundlessly, akin to a feather that floated towards a random destination carried by the wind. Moonlight bathed her stunning features in cold light as she found her destination and with a swift and easy motion ripped the heavy, three-meter long board from the support beams and uncovered the covering and frigid woman.

The poor soul did not have time to scream before the petite vampire had already buried her face in her neck and sucked out what she desired.

Soon after, the small pale figure let go of the lifeless body of her final victim, once again licking up every single drop of blood she could find with the greed of a starved beggar. Finally, she combed back her long black hair and laughed a little, delight and happiness clearly audible in her bell-like voice.

“At last, I got out of the temple's darned reach.”, she mumbled with the relief of a traveler who after a long journey through the desert had finally reached a well with a refreshing cool liquid that could quench his thirst.

Another relieved sigh left her lips and she looked down on the dead woman by her feet with cold and unfeeling eyes that did not in the least care about the half a dozen villagers she had sucked completely dry in order to fill her stomach that had been hungry for so many years. Only a faint shimmer of contempt glimmered in the red iris, soon overtaken by the delight the vampire felt about finally having found a decent meal.

With a whirl she turned around and calmly walked towards the forest in the distance, disappearing just as suddenly as she had appeared, leaving behind nothing but death.
